budaatum: Please rephrase!
We Nigerians are too corrupt to be taxing anyone highly for now.
Those who tax us do not come from Mars. We Nigerians elect them from amongst our corrupt selves! Bruvs, if you think your votes count, then you have another think coming. |

MetaPhysical: You are mixing two distinct ideas and confusing both.
What is your grievance, is it with tax generally or the insolvency of socio economics in Nigerian society? What I am trying explain is that Nigeria is too corrupt to be taxing anyone highly for now. The excessive taxes will only backfire because infrastructure are not improving commensurately with the high IGR being declared by states. Can you relate the increasing IGR to the quality life. |

Very nice care by a rich and responsible state with low taxation policy.
Some states will be boasting of very high IGR while their citizens are starving, mad and destitute people begging for alms in their thousands.
IGR my foot. |

MinorityOpinion: Is either anambra people are not paying tax or government officials are embezzling it, either is bad for development of a state Well, the citizens are not complaining about that. And if you know the knowledge of he technocrats that have been running the state into serious profit in the last 14 years, you will want to emulate them. |

MetaPhysical: Taxed to death is illogical use of word. Nobody has ever died from taxation. Come off it friend! People have been taxed to business death in Lagos. Lots of people ran away while those who have no idea are rushing in because of the glamour which they will never enjoy. |

lawani: tax paying nations are efficient and have high HDI. Why do you think people rush to US and Europe?. That's US and Europe, people that worked for all their lives in Nigeria are still languishing in penury while their pensions were eaten by politicians. Same will always happen to your tax and IGR. |

MetaPhysical: If you keep your area tax free you will soon end up with refugees migrating to the are that taxes its residents. End up in an area where people are taxed to death? Not logical at all. |

MetaPhysical: In the history of civilization, taxation has always been an input to development. Societies fought wars and expanded their frontiers so they could expand tax revenue.
Where is this nonsense you are talking about coming from?
IGR is simply a designation to partition the source of income. You can call it Domestric Receipts or Domestic Revenue, its all window dressing....at end of the day it is still tax. Supposing I decide to keep my area tax free, does it mean the other area who are taxing their people to death are better? Is this not just about measuring kiniko? |

Kwashiman: If you don't then that's on you, nearly millions worldwide do, and that's what matters. I once met Mr Ibu in a Nigerian banking hall, dude was oozing fun from meters away The way he looks at people, the way he made his way to the teller and the way he responded to greetings left everyone rolling with laughter. He staged an unplanned comedy skit for us all. Dude is so blessed and talented. |

Tell me the name of the Delta man that won the European champions league Your hate may consume you if you don't repent. jimyjames: The name nollywood was birthed by Igbo movies , do you know how old the name nollywood is ? Low budget production or not , these low budget Igbo movies put nollywood on the world map , amongst the 3 biggest movie industries in the world, the so called high budget Yoruba movies didn't make it , out of yorubaland . Yoruba movies got no soul. In my hotel lobby in Abeokuta, yoruba receptionist and hotel porter were almost crying because of the theatrics of Nkem owoh ! Shedding real tears o |

When it comes to individual strides. We lead. How many Igbo UFC or Boxing Champions?
I don't even want to digress from the original topic So you are agreeing some people beat you in some things. ? Because if Kanu Nwankwo, Mikel Obi or JJ Okocha is yoruba, we would have been chased away fromn airaland |
