Nairaland / General / Ffk Versus Buhari by sledgehammer123: 10:13am On Mar 01, 2017
It is rather unfortunate that someone like FFK could narrow his thinking to regional, tribal or religious inclination to achieve his desired objective. However, Nigerians have understood his use of religion and other sentiments when the chips are down. It is still in our memory that FFK could use his last blood and his last word to blackmail Buhari and by extension the government. This is because of the quantum of impunity they used in stealing our national treasury as it is coming out on daily basis from the day were removed from power to date. FFK and his group will never like the President Buhari, not because they don’t know the truth, but because of the cause of action which the government takes to recover our looted money from these enemies of Nigeria, (FFK and Co). The only thing remaining for them is to use the ember of religion and ethnicity to drive home their intention. Buhari’s offence is the recovering of government fund by making people do the right thing.

FFK coming up with a write up such as this, on the health of our President, is inhuman because Buhari like any other person is a mortal who can fall sick so its mere mischief for him to say Buhari has been incommunicado. Highly respected Nigerians visited him and the whole world saw this. They should not be wasting their time praying for him to die as everyone will die including the president at Gods given time. They are only wishing him to die due to what the President is doing to restore stability in our economy and by injecting sanity to the system through his anticorruption crusade which is acknowledged worldwide. In addition, FFK alleged that the President is unleashing terror on people in the name of fighting corruption. The question we ask ourselves is do FFK and his people want the country to go on with impunity, corruption and mis-governance? If the former President decided to condone corruption which he refers to as mere stealing and that’s why we are where we are today. Our security forces were denied funds to procure the necessary arms and ammunitions to fight Boko Haram and other security challenges. It is the same set of human beings (FFK and his party members) who distributed the money amongst themselves as evidenced from EFCC and the court.

If it were to be other countries, FFK and his group would not have spoken or campaign to come back to power because of the disservice they have done to Nigeria. Nigeria will never forget PDP and his members for rocking this country to a mess. So those found guilty of corruption should face the law and stop blaming Buhari for their predicament.

Furthermore, FFK in his effort to lure sentiments has picked up the issue of chronic recession. It is unfortunate that Femi could attribute the present economic situation in the country to this government; well it is easier said than done. We know those who contributed to the economic mess we are in as Femi and his cohorts connived with the militants to blow up pipelines to streamline the government from getting the necessary revenue for nation building. Okonjo Iweala had once said whoever emerged as President in 2015 will not be able to pay salary due to the bastardization of the economy by the enemies of Nigeria such as you. The government is not only paying salary but contractors who were owed were also paid. This is something Jonathan could not do throughout his stay as president. FFK and his group should bury their heads in shame for institutionalising corruption. They are lucky they are Nigerians if it were to be other countries, they would have been in the grave long ago.

FFK talked about the rule of law on paper as he described it. What they want to happen will surely happen as the President is observing the rule of law in practical time and he is encouraging others to follow suit. The selective so called anti corruption war, this war is a holistic war against anybody who decides to steal from the government purse, we thank God this war is succeeding. Nobody who is innocent is jailed even in the opposition party. Anyone arrested has questions to answer. Therefore the anger FFK is referring to is manmade, orchestrated by them to portray this government in bad light against the masses. The free money is no more there. The issue of violation of human right and incasseration of most of his critics and political opponents, there is nobody whose right were circumvented or abused unless they abused their own right and the right of others by stealing and whoever does that, definitely the law must catch up with him.

People should not allow the likes of FFK to use them to dream to come back into power, which God will never allow to happen. Baba will come back safely because there is no vacuum as the VICE president is doing very well. If FFK is truly is a good Christian, wouldn’t be envious of the present leadership to the extent of wishing the president dead. “He alone lifts us up, brings us down and determines the length of our days”. So also the Holy Quaran says, if ones time is due, a single second will not be added to him or her. There is nothing to fear in PMB. Only the criminals and those who betray trust of this nation are afraid of him.
Nairaland / General / Military Job by sledgehammer123: 10:29am On Feb 23, 2017
Military job as appropriately captured by Charles de Gore a French General who said and i quote "Men who adopt the profession of arms submit to their own free will to a law of perpetual constraint of their own accord. They resist their right to live where they choose, to say what they think, to dress as they like, it needs but an order to settle from their family and dislocate their normal lives. In the world of command they must rise, march, run, and endure bad weather, go without sleep or food, be isolated in some distant post, work until they drop. If they drop in their tracks, if their ashes are scattered to the four winds, that is all part and parcel of their job".
Nigerian Armed Forces has institutionalized welfare for its personnel having realised how important welfare is in military service. this welfare arrangement is not a compensation for service rendered by its personnel, but its intended to appreciate the job the military is doing. All over the world, militaries are given maximum attention regarding their welfare and training. The welfare available in Nigerian Armed forces include, but not limited to the following:

• Nigerian Army Welfare Insurance Scheme
• Nigerian Army Post Housing Scheme
• Group Life Assurance
• Benevolent Fund
• Scholarship Of Dependants (4x Children From Primary Up To University Level
• Ration Cash Allowance (RCA)
• Duty Tour Allowance(DTA)

However, those in operation, either international security operation like the one in the North East, Niger Delta and other places in addition to an institutionalized welfare package which is cal called Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) there is operational Allowance which are all paid to troops in local operation on monthly basis. Similarly those on peace support operations either under united Nation Umbrella or African Union as the case may be are equally given their allowances on monthly basis which is a flat rate of $1,000 each of these allowances are paid to troops. However, due to the introduction of TSA there could be delay in disbursement, but that does not mean the money will not be paid. Therefore, the military high command liaises with relevant agencies to effect payment . Hence all soldiers in operation either internal or UN is hereby rest assured that their money is for them and as usual, due process must be followed to source for the money payment.

As military personnel, there are expectations among which are discipline, being mindful of statements and utterances, adherence to channels of communication amongst others. Recently soldiers used the social media platform to post unprofessional comments alleging that their allowances were not paid to them, pointing accusing fingers at the military high command.

A delay of few days or weeks should not make our men complain on social media. You can channel your grievances to the appropriate office within the military circle. Efforts put in place by the government and the military leadership to make you comfortable should be appreciated and not condemned. The money you have earned through your hard work cannot be taken away from you, it's a right that you cannot be denied of by anyone. You don't have to resolve to making noise on social media platform.

What makes you a military personnel is not just the uniform, but you imbibing all the tenets of the job as encapsulated by Charles de Gaulle.
Patience is the only answer, and with the military Leadership we have, no kobo of yours can miss.
