A very distressed bride, Lawrentta Adesuwa Sawyer, broke the Nigerian social media sphere on January 1st this year , when she challenged designer, Maryam Elisha of Rikatobyme, on social media for giving her wedding reception dress to actress Mercy Aigbe to use for her 40th birthday photoshoot.

The aggrieved bride posted online and disclosed that she gave Maryam the red fabric to make her wedding reception dress in December 2017 and that Maryam failed to deliver the dress to her on the date they agreed. She recognised her dress on Mercy Aigbe and immediately called out Maryam.
It became an internet sensation with many Nigerians calling on her to sue Maraym. Well, it appears she is taking the legal step as her lawyers have written to Maryam demanding a compensation from her.
Recall that Maryam in a post she shared in the first week, apologised to the aggrieved bride online and added that the bride had refused to pick up her calls .
Mercy last week reacted to the controversy that has surfaced because of the dress. In a statement she posted on her Instagram page, the actress says she has contacted her lawyers to look into the matter.

The statement read;

“I have followed events as they unfold following a particular dress I wore for a photoshoot. First, I must say that I sincerely sympathise with the bride as this situation is painful, unfortunate and regrettably avoidable.
“I hired and paid Seun @styledbyseun for the photoshoot as a stylist and got four dresses for the shoot. Seun and I were unaware that one of the dresses was meant for someone else. I am embarrassed that the designer was not professional enough in handling events leading to this moment. It is also painful that a bride is made to go through what the bride has been made to go through.
“I have reached out to both the stylist and designer (whom I have never met nor HIRED directly) to express my displeasure.

Black Diamond Entertainment front man Wande Coal has just announced his own headline concert will hold in 2018.

The "Iskaba" crooner made the announcement on his Instagram tagging it ‘Wande Coal Live In Concert 2018.  While he hasn’t given a specific date for his own, the move may not be unconnected with successes of various top Nigerian artistes who headlined their own concerts in December, such as Wizkid, Falz, Davido, Olamide and more.

Wande Coal’s Iskaba was one of the most played songs in 2017 and he has just dropped a new song titled ‘Turkey Nla’. He was also on stage when MoHits reunited for the first time in years during the just concluded Davido #30BillionConcert.
