Coming to referendum, let me explain it a little. To be an independent state through a referendum, it can happen in two ways.
1. Through an agreement between the agitating state and the federal state.
2. Through an international community backed referendum irrespective of the federal state’s stance.

Now, for Biafra, number one is out of it as Nigeria is not ready to let go. Which leaves us with number 2.
UN is currently not interested in an independent Biafran state because of their vested interests in Nigeria.
Luckily enough for Biafra, we have the Human Resources in strategic places that can elevate this discussion. Unfortunately, ipob, being the foremost pro Biafran group have chased those cerebral Biafran away with their rhetorics and radicalization.
The only option left for IPOB now is war which they are alone on. Most Igbos are not ready for another Ill equipped and Ill advised war.
Even a 3 year old could see that Biafra won’t win Nigeria in any type of war today.
Diplomacy is the way forward! Igbos have the brains to engage our way out of Nigeria.
