*28/06 (DARK JUNE)*

It was a cold Thursday morning, the rain fell through the night. By 5am the newly wedded couple were already awake, getting ready to leave for Lagos by 7am so as to get back home before 7pm to avoid late night movement.

Femi and nkechi were young couple who got married recently in Lagos but travelled to Abuja for there honeymoon.

*YEARS BACK*
Femi was born in Lagos although an indigene of Ibadan, oyo state. A graduate of banking and finance, Lagos State university LASU.
He was a brilliant lad but loves women. Friends nicknamed him Casanova because he could hit anything that has ' *skirt* ' in fact he was so popular about his exploit back in the days.

While nkechi was born in enugu state but moved to Lagos at a young age due to the death of her mother. She stayed with her aunty where she attended university of Lagos and studied business administration.

Femi and nkechi both met during there 'Nysc days' and became friends afterward.

Nkechi was a very religious and ' *churchy* ' kind of lady. Who vowed not to engage in premarital *sex* till after marriage.

Femi with is theatrics and *sweet words* tried to woo her but she resisted instead invited him to her church service.

He initially refused but later succumb due to the feelings he had for her.. They became even closer than before till femi was courageous enough to ask Her out on a date and later proposed to her during there last month in there primary place of assignments. Without hesitation she said yes noticing that he was now born again.

Nkechi relatives disagreed about her marrying a Yoruba man instead of someone from the south eastern state which she came from, in fact it caused a bitter dispute between her and her aunty.
There were calls for family meeting because nkechi had earlier threatened to kill herself if she is not allowed to marry femi.
The family meeting were eventually held and after hours of deliberation, they decided to let her marry the man of her choice.

*PRESENT DAY*
Abuja is the federal capital territory of Nigeria, a place of side attraction and also haven for fun lovers.

The couple had prepared to leave there lodge hotel which they have been staying for almost A week. Lagos to Abuja by road usually takes 9 to 12 hours depending, so there best bet was to get to Lagos before 7pm to avoid movement in the night.

Femi the husband was using a 2006 model of Toyota Camry.

*Long journey begins*

*The following conversation took place during the journey*

Husband: Abuja lived up to it expectation?. he stylish asked expecting a reply

Wife: yes dear, the city is beautiful!! She replied forcefully.

Husband: what is the problem?.
Looking confused.

Wife: do you know I forgot that my gold expensive wristwatch you bought me on my birthday?.
She replied looking devastated

Husband: sweetheart I will get you a better one.

Wife: *smiles*
she breath out in relieve.

There was silence for most part of the journey when femi noticed is wife was too distracted with her phone.
He asked
Husband: What are you checking on your phone?

Wife: I am on Linda ikeji site.

Femi hurriedly responded - oh that gossip site, I wonder what you people see there.
She replied with a convincing look : I just love the site and Linda ikeji in particular, she inspires young lady to aspire for greatness.

Femi not wanting an argument hurriedly switch the discussion.

There was silence for a while
When is phone rang, it was the secretary of the organization that femi worked. a little anxious he picked, carefully listened as he was informed that he was part of the employees the organisation had recently laid off.

There was a sad expression on his face, he was fighting back the tears, till it openly defeated is eyes. While is wife was trying to calm him, he didn't notice the incoming petrol tanker around the Lagos-ibadan express way.

They both collided while the petrol tanker spilled fuel, in a *twinkle of the eyes* everywhere was on fire. The couple who knew the end was near held each other hands and screamed 'Jesus'
