Business / Re: PZ Cussons Nigeria Reports First Annual Loss In Years Amid Naira Depreciation by slowice(m): 11:32am On Aug 31
emkz:
Breaking News: Peter Obi sews aimless twitter thread, laments PZ record-making losses, blames President Tinubu for multidimensional poverty and encourages the government to invest in education to arrest decline in human capital development.

We hope that one day, Peter Obi would see something positive to say about Nigeria.

PS: Please for those celebrating their ignorance and attacking me over the comment above, the comment is satire, based on Peter Obi's predicatble but humorous behaviour. It is sad I have to explain something so basic to those who deluded themselves that they could install a mediocre president on Nigeria. Their candidate was so mediocre that he reasoned his only path to win election was to set Christians against Muslims. Two Muslim candidates thrashed the Pentecostal project.

The joke is on you.

Hate will definitely begat even more bigger hate.

joseph1832:
Lol. This is actually funny because, Tinubu, like his predecessors, underestimate the greed of Nigerians. This greed is the very reason, why this country will take a long time, before it becomes what we truly dream of.

On second thought, this is suppose to be a joke right?
Its not a joke, it's tinubu's solution to Nigeria's economic woes

Politics / Re: US Court Affirms Chinese Firm’s $70m Arbitration Award Against Nigeria by slowice(m): 7:56am On Aug 16
They enter into fraudulent contracts because they want to swindle their state. Nigeria seem to be designed to fail, everybody in government and government agencies are all looking for deals through which they will make it big by swindling the country. We don't have leaders. No one protects the interest of the country.

Here we go again! This is reminiscent of the way SLS went about donating CBN money to (mainly Northern) universities. I will say what I said then: No statutory body has a CSR remit: you have no power to donate anything especially money. ALL monies ought to go to the Federation Account and can only be disbursed upon appropriation!

The recklessness in this country is mind blowing. No one seem to be in charge as every agency of government operates like a kingdom. This is how bold corruption has become.

Politics / Re: FG Targets Generation Of 6,000 Megawatts Power Before 2025 – Minister by slowice(m): 9:25pm On Aug 14
DeLaRue:

You can't ignore the fact that Nigeria doesn't have the money. 10000 megawatts in Nigeria will cost 3 or 4 times more than it cost in Egypt, due to corruption.

Also Egypt receives hundreds of millions of dollars from the US every year. And receives large grants from the EU. It also gets easy access to billions in investment money and cheap loans from Saudi Arabia, UAE etc Nigeria doesn't have these.

That said, even if Nigeria has the money, fraud and vested interests will sabotage any effort to increase generation by 10000 megawatts in 2 years.

Well, you made my point still

Nigeria is a very power country, when you compare our yearly budget in dolar to other African countries you know that we are a very poor country , also compare our earnings in dollars with other African countries, Egypt is far richer than Nigeria because their economy is more diverse, do you know how much they make from tourism alone

Nigeria is not a poor country but a mismanaged country and that's exactly why we celebrate mediocrity every other day
