I also don't know whether the Embassy's requirement is residence in Abuja. I checked the box on the online application Form to confirm that i reside in Abuja. I only noted in my transcript that my VO sought to reconfirm my residence in Abuja during the interview.

Having read lots of transcripts from lagos interviews, it was quite surreal that i was just ushered straight into one of the two interview cubicles at the Embassy without meeting any other applicant waiting. It was only after i came out of the interview that i noticed 2 ladies and a gentleman apparently waiting for their interviews. It would appear that applicants are given different times on their AD,mine was 8:30am.

Thegamingorca:
I don't think it's only Abuja residents that get to have it there.

Again did you notice other ppl or it Was a walk into the office and leave scenario

[quote author=Zee1n1 post=81102082]Good evening bro
Pls kindly put me through on how u book appointment with abuja embassy.
My mail is ibrahimajibola1328@gmail.com

Hello bro,

Both lagos and abuja use the same page for online booking. Here's the page link:

https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/appointment_showForm.do?locationCode=lago&realmId=347&categoryId=1716

Please note that Abuja does not handle interviews for Bsc applicants.

If you want abuja as interview venue, you should tick the box in front of which is stated: 'I live in Abuja...'. There's however no guarantee that you will be sent to Abuja for interview, but it's better to indicate your wish and let God's Will come through. Here's a screenshot of the box referred to:

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT

I attended my Visa interview at the German Embassy Abuja earlier today. The interview proper started at about 8:20am with the submission of required documents, biometric data capture and payment of visa fee. Thereafter the VO, a very nice Lady, began to ask specific questions and inputted the answers I gave into her computer. The questions were basically the usual ones we've read in earlier transcripts (such as course, School and its location, facts about Germany as well as future plans after studies). Two of the questions asked however prove the point that one can never be too prepared for an interview. The VO asked about the research focus for my Masters thesis. Then she asked me to name just one text book i used during my undergrad days and its author. Easy questions but the element of surprise could trip one off.

Personal notes:

1) The German Embassy Abuja does not have a Paulinus-type character to check your documents prior to your interview. I arrived the Embassy around 7am and was told i was too early. I had to hang around the car park till 8:15am when i was ushered straight to the Visa section for my interview by security staff.

2) Unlike what Lagos transcripts indicate, Abuja does not hold on to your original certificates but will hold on to your passport after the interview. The VO told me that the DHL envelope i presented is not required for Abuja interviews as applicants would be required to come back to pick up their passport in person. I noticed the VO was particular about confirming that i reside in Abuja.

3) I presented a FINTIBA blocked account which i funded in May with 8640 euros. However i have been asked to transfer additional funds to make up 10236 euros and send confirmation via email to the Embassy. The VO explained to me that any student arriving in Germany after 1 September must have the new amount in his or her blocked account before resident permit will be granted.

4) I truly appreciate the courtesy and professionalism of every person i encountered at the Embassy, from the security guys to the VO. I thank God I didn't have to add unpleasant encounters to my pre-interview anxiety.

I wish all of us success in our DE quest.

Hello NLs

I began following part 6 of this Forum in June and now that we are in Part 7, please permit me to express some thoughts.

To @Justwise, may God open multiple doors of success for you, just as you have opened this avenue for information exchange, anybody can access vital information here for free.

To those who continue to enlighten others in this Forum about various steps and processes involved in the pursuit of studies in Germany, may God illuminate your ways to success.

To those who have scaled the AL/AM hurdles and are now in Germany or are about to depart Nigeria, i say congratulations. Focus and prayer are watch words that should serve you well in your life's journey.

To those, like me, who are awaiting Visa interview at the Embassy. Please religiously use the checklist to prepare for your appointment. If the daily news about Nigeria does not motivate you to be serious about your German pursuit, I doubt that anything else will. Also, if you have benefitted in any way from this Forum, the least you can do is to provide transcript of your interview afterwards. Others can learn from your experience too.

To those still awaiting interview date from the Embassy, please don't give up. I read too many testimones in Part 6 not to believe in miracles. As advised on this Forum, you could also explore deferrment options with your schools as back up plan.

My interview is fixed for 6th August at Abuja. If there's anyone else for that date and in need of accommodation, please do let me know on time.
