As far as ADC is concerned, Atiku owns the north. He would also get the SW and even SE delegate votes. What this SS leaders played is a master stroke.

I don laughter tire. Sebi we tell them that obi made a blunder going to ADC.

The end game. SS delegation know that Amaechi can't outspend Atiku in winning the ADC ticket, so they have effectively positioned him for the VP slot as compensation.

Obi should quietly move to Accord party since he left labour party on a bad note.

The man in white to the right of Obi run obi street. Agba politician grin

PoliticsFintiri Set To Defect As Speaker, 13 Assembly Members Dump PDP by Slytiger(op): 12:41pm On Feb 26
Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley and 13 of his colleagues yesterday, resigned their membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP in what is believed to be in preparation for the formal defection of the state governor , Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The resignation of the lawmakers from the PDP according to sources is to smoothen the path for the defection of the Adamawa State governor, who has been showing signs of possibly joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) for some time.

Fintiri and his associates have repeatedly given the indication that they may dump the PDP and join the APC, following the governor’s disagreement with other PDP governors at the last congress of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also in the state to commission projects done by the Governor recently after which he was reported to have had some political discussions with Fintiri.

The expected defection of Fintiri will bring to 30, the number of APC controlled states in the country leaving the PDP with only three governors, Labour Party, one, Accord Party, one, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), one.

The speaker announced the resignation on the floor of the House during yesterday’s plenary.

Those whose resignation were announced alongside that of the Speaker include the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa (Jada- Mbulo), Kefas Calvin (Toungo), Bulus Geoffrey (Leko – Koma) and Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali).

Others are Kefas Emmanuel, (Song), Ahmed Jingi Belel (Maiha), Hon. Moses Yerima Zah (Michika), Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa), Pwamwakeno Mackondo (Numan), Adun John Alaba(Uba -Gaya), Bulus Kantom (Shelleng) as well as Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu (Mayo Belwa), Japhet Hammanjabu (Verre).

The member representing Lamurde state constituency, Bauna Myandiasa was conspicuously absent during the session.

Speaking to journalists on the development, Chairman, House Committee on Information, Mahmud Kallamu said that those that resigned are making consultation with their people which will determine the political platform they may join soon.

Kallamu said the decision of Governor Umaru Fintiri would determie the next step they would take.

Also reacting to the move ,Mohammed Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the All Progressives Party,APC, in the state said that what is happening in the political arena shows President Bola Tinubu’s government is attracting all including members of the opposition.

Leave political parties aside, let's join our hands together and hold these leaders accountable. How can terrorists be demanding virgins in exchange to release people who came to deliver ransom, even after killing the first kidnapped victim. Was crying when I read the ordeal that poor girl went through. We are busy fighting ourselves while these terrorists and politicians are busy using our lives and that of our loved ones to play Chess.

Politics$2.1m Bribery Scandal: Ex-NNPC GM Jailed For 87 Months In US by Slytiger(op):
A United States district court has sentenced Paulinus Iheanacho Okoronkwo, a former general manager at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (now NNPC Limited), to 87 months in prison for receiving a $2.1 million bribe linked to oil drilling rights in Nigeria.

Okoronkwo, 58, a Nigerian-American, was convicted over a payment made by Addax Petroleum, a subsidiary of China’s state-owned energy giant, Sinopec.

In a statement issued on the website of the US Department of Justice, the United States government on Monday said the trial judge, John F. Walter, also ordered Okoronkwo to pay $923,824 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service and to forfeit assets traced to the proceeds of the crime.

The statement said: “Paulinus Iheanacho Okoronkwo, 58, a.k.a. ‘Pollie,’ of Rancho Cucamonga, was sentenced by United States District Judge John F. Walter, who also ordered him to pay $923,824 in restitution to the IRS and ordered that Okoronkwo forfeit $1,039,997, the net proceeds of the sale of a home involved in the laundering of the bribe money.”

It added that “at the conclusion of a four-day trial, a jury in August 2025 found Okoronkwo guilty of three counts of transactional money laundering, one count of tax evasion, and one count of obstruction of justice.”

It added that “at the conclusion of a four-day trial, a jury in August 2025 found Okoronkwo guilty of three counts of transactional money laundering, one count of tax evasion, and one count of obstruction of justice.”

According to prosecutors, Okoronkwo abused his position while serving as general manager in the upstream division of Nigeria’s national oil company by accepting a $2.1 million payment from Addax Petroleum.

The money, prosecutors said, was wired in October 2015 into the trust account of Okoronkwo’s law firm in Los Angeles and was falsely presented as payment for consultancy services.

Investigators, however, said the transfer was in fact a bribe intended to secure favourable drilling rights in Nigeria.

Prosecutors told the court that Addax executives allegedly falsified internal records to describe the payment as legitimate legal fees, dismissed staff members who questioned the transaction and provided misleading information to company auditors.

Okoronkwo, who later practised immigration, family and personal-injury law in Los Angeles’ Koreatown area, was said to have used almost $1 million from the bribe as a down payment on a home in Valencia, California, and failed to declare the income in his 2015 tax return.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of $1,039,997, representing the net proceeds from the sale of the property linked to the laundering of the funds.

In October 2025, a US court had granted the government’s application to forfeit the Valencia property as part of the case.

Let's compare the salaries of Doctors in Nigeria with countries with comparable incomes.
In Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) like Bangladesh, Brazil and Jordan, Egypt and Morocco. Doctors earn $50,000 to $70,000 dollars per annum. They have the same level of income as Nigeria. The Federal Ministry of Finance should check their finances and compare it with those countries.

PoliticsEdo ADC Factional Crisis Deepens As Gunshots Hit Oyegun’s House by Slytiger(op): 12:02am On Feb 25
The crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has degenerated into a major conflagration as hoodlums suspected to be loyal to one of the factions attacked the house of the party chieftain and former governor of the state, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, riddling his gate with bullets.

It would be recalled that several leaders of the party, including a former Chief Whip of the Senate, Sir Rowland Owie, who is one of the founders and financiers of the party in the state; Sunny Aguebor, a national leader of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), and Douglas Iyike, among others, were shut out of the meeting scheduled to be held at the residence of the National Leader of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun, in Benin City.

It was gathered that Odigie-Oyegun scheduled the meeting for his residence and when the members got to the place, they were shown a list of those invited.

This development got the members infuriated and took over the entrance to the compound of Odigie-Oyegun.

Speaking to journalists, Owie called on the mational leadership of the ADC to call Odigie-Oyegun to order.

He said, “We that are here, are founding members of the ADC, we are supposed to have a meeting today, Chief John Oyegun who has not done anything to support the party in this state is calling non-members to a meeting and excluding those who are statutory members.

“As a matter of fact, the senatorial meeting was to be called up to four or five times, he stopped it, he will postpone it. As we are talking, we have been everywhere in this state, especially here in Edo South where we are right now raising members for the party, ask him how many people he has attracted to this party.

“We are telling the national leadership of the party that enough is enough of John Oyegun, this was how he as the National Chairman of the APC and he was removed with ease, enough is enough, he cannot disrespect those who are building the party.”

Thereafter, A gun duel ensued at the meeting venue as the property of the former governor was attacked by yet-to-be identified hoodlums.
