The CEO of SMART360MEDIA PUBLICATIONS, Olorunsomo Smart Adeola was yesterday inducted as Member of Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, the induction which took place at Adeyanju Multipurpose Hall of College of Health Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

Present at the event were Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Ably represented by the Commissioner for health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro.

The Ag. Registrar/CEO of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria Mr. Tosan Erhabor, Provost College of Health Technology Akure, Dr. Felix Olawoye, Head of Department Medical Laboratory Science, MLS Oke Moses and many other important people.

The Registrar/CEO of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria after inducting the total number of 110 students in his speech told the inductees to be up and doing and to always remember there oath in providing selfless services.

Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, has been found dead, Sahara Reporters learnt on Sunday.

Miss Oluboyo popularly, known as ‘Princess Nikky’, was found dead with her body already decomposing at the weekend in Akure, the Ondo State capital, few days after she was declared missing.

The final-year student of Educational Management at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State was last seen in the company of her boyfriend.

In the early hour of today, her corpse was brought to State Specialist Hospital Akure, for the autopsy.

Smart360Media correspondent reviewed that alot of people were around to sympathize with the family of the deceased.

The report of the autopsy will be sent to the media as soon as they are done with it.

A 22 - year - old suspected Badoo cult member , Emmanuel Obazuaye, who was allegedly caught with a human head , was on Tuesday brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, who resides in Ikorodu , Lagos State, is standing trial on a two- count of conspiracy and unlawful possession of human head.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that members of the Badoo cult have been terrorising Ikorodu and its environs for several months, resulting in fatalities .

No fewer than 1 ,000 suspects have been arrested by the police .

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Romanus Unuigbe, told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 27 at 1 . 00 p . m . at No. 1 , Lejumo St . , Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Unuigbe alleged that Obazuaye was caught at a shrine in Ikorodu with a fresh human head where he claimed to have visited to seek “protection” from a native doctor .

He said Obazuaye, who did not act alone , but with others still at large , was immediately taken to the police station for further questioning .

The offences contravened sections 238 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised ).
The Chief Magistrate , Mr . Adewale Ojo , granted the accused bail in the sum of N 250 , 000 with two sureties in like sum.

He said the sureties must be blood relations of the accused and should also show evidence of three- year tax payment to the Lagos State Government .
Ojo adjourned the case until September 13 for mention.

Although, I'm not a NANS comrade, but I'm an onlooker with keen interest when it comes Student's movement, not only in Nigeria, but also across the world.

Maybe because I'm younger, I don't know much about NANS history, but I still understand that from 2000 till 2016, Philip Shuaibu handed over to Segun Olaleye.

Daniel Onjeh received it and handed over to Tony Nwoye and he was succeeded by Kenneth Orkuma Hembe.

Yinka Sadam Dada succeeded him and handed over to Bashir Babale before Ini Ememabong/Jude Imagwe factionalized the organization.

Later on, Mohammed Dauda took the power and handed over to Yinka Gbadebo, he also was succeeded by High Chief Tijani Usman.

The question now is that, who succeeded Tijani Usman?

I don't want to dabble into the escapade of how conventions and counter conventions were held, but going with the declaration of Tijani Usman himself, he was succeeded by Chinonso Obasi.

Well, to some people, Aruna Kadiri was the NANS President. In fact, APC government preferred Kadiri has the president, and before now, he enjoyed some immunities from the government and security apparatus.

Chinonso Obasi on the other hand was seen in some quarters as the NANS President, his actions and activities have made him to be positively famous than his counterpart.

But of recent, not known to the public, something amazing happened, what is that? Aruna Kadiri petitioned IBB as an impersonator that should be apprehended by Security.

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) invited Comrade IBB based on this petition. Aruna was also invited so that eyes would meet with eyes.

Guess what happened? Chinonso Obasi came there with the immediate past President, Tijani Usman and some other genuine students leaders across the country.

The student's leaders that came with IBB presented their valid school I. D card, Chinonso Obasi also presented his Admission letter and school I. D card.

It was now the turn of Aruna Kadiri to do likewise, that was when it became known that Aruna does not have any valid school I. D card, In fact, it was confirmed that Aruna just claimed Uniben even when he is not a registered student in the University.

Among the entourages that followed Aruna, people like Akosh, Igwe Ude and others, none of them have any evidence as a students. They were either rusticated Students or graduates.

It was at that moment that it became known to the government and Security that Aruna is not even a student. The accuser now became an accused.
The fate was sealed, and the question of who is NANS President got answered, it is only a student that can be President to other students.

Aruna Kadiri has gone to everywhere as a fraud claiming to be student. The fate that awaits him might be worst than that of Hemer Hambe.

Well, at this juncture, I totally agreed with Chinonso Obasi when he called himself IBB (Intelligent, Bold and Balance). Student unionism has gotten a new face since he emerged.

Only those that stand on the side of truth will last till the end.

Hmmm, but some are practicing unionism just not becus of money.

_”Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”_ NELSON MANDELA.

Students unionism is widely believed to be an instrument via which organization of student is maintained.

Students unionism were established in various institutions of higher learning to give room for unity, orderliness and smooth transmission between students, school authorities, also State and Federal Government.

Unionism in higher institutions does not know the key objectives for which they were established.
Some sees it as freedom to enjoy and as opportunity to cause mayhem and anarchy in their institutions.

It is true that there are legitimate issues of poor service and maladministration for which students should feel genuinely aggrieved, but it has since been proven that violence is not a solution to any problem. Instead of violence, peaceful protests is defiantly a more viable option in getting authorities to listen to students grievances and explore opportunity for dialogue.

If the peaceful protest fail to achieve results, students will then switch to online campaigns to press for their demands instead of embarking on violent street protest.

More also, allowing a student that has little or no skill in governance to govern or oversea the affair of students can easily result in disorderliness and unorganized government which might result in the use of violence to achieve a goal that can easily be achieved through dialogue, petitions and online campaigns.

Furthermore, the various student union leaders in tertiary institutions should know that they were elected to serve students and represent their interest in order to promote discipline, orderliness and unity among students and their school authorities.

Unionism should not be seen as an avenue to amass wealth but as an opportunity to serve.
