A Nigerian man, Freeman Osonuga has been shortlisted as one of the lucky human beings to travel to space.
Osonuga, a medicine and surgery graduate from Olabisi Onabanjo University, was selected through the Rising Star programme, which was launched at the One Young World Summit 2014 in Dublin. The programme invited both One Young World ambassadors and outstanding members of the public aged 18-30 to nominate themselves to take on the trip of a lifetime.

If selected for the programme one will not only embark on a once in a lifetime flight to space but will also be offered a three-year management contract. He will be the first black African to fly to space. Osonuga is a 2015 WIRED Innovation fellow. He will be speaking live on stage at the WIRED 2015 conference in October in London. In late 2014, at the peak of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, he worked as a volunteer worked with the African Union team of Ebola responders for 6 months in Sierra Leone.

18 year old Adigwe Anointing Jessica Obiageli who went missing on August 14th has been found.
“A friend found her at the corridors of Madam Tinubu hall university of Lagos between 8-9pm yesterday and dragged her to her sisters room. She claims to
have wandered off on her own wanting to be alone and away from people.” a family member wrote.
What led to her death is still a mystery to everyone.

Jaw-dropping moment a woman took revenge on her cheating boyfriend by setting his penis on fire.
The footage, uploaded onto YouTube on Sunday evening, shows a man sleeping in his bed.
However, a woman approaches him and appears to place flammable liquid on his underwear.
She then takes a flame to the area, causing his pants to set ablaze.
The victim then springs to life, shocked and alarmed at the rude awakening before the video cuts off. Footage of the incident has since gone viral after viewers were shocked and some greatly amused by the woman’s actions.
YouTube user Bridget Bishop, commenting on the video, said: “You go girl!”
But another wrote: “Aaaand that will be prison for you, I hope you will enjoy your time there.”
However many users have questioned whether or not the footage is genuine.
User Bryno92 said: “Clearly fake. He wakes up before he would even sense it. Not only that, but he doesn’t even say a word to her. If it was me, I’d be yelling.

Critics and Fans have started coming for Five Star music Act, Skiibii.

Few hours ago it was reported that the upcoming 5 star music act had passed away, thus bringing lot of tributes and
condolence messages from artistes like, Wizkid, Patoranking, Cynthia Morgan, Davido, Tekno, Victoria Kimani and others.

Hours after the report of his death had gone viral, 5 star music came out to deny his death reports and claimed Skiibii was responding to treatment.
Apparently, the sudden revelation that Skiibii is still alive has led many to believe that it was a publicity stunt all along.
With this sudden change of events, artistes have stared commenting on the publicity stunt. On his SnapChat account, Davido said
“Niggas be playing too much” and had the caption “don’t play with death yo” on his video.
Triple MG artiste Tekno really got me laughing hard as he was really pissed about the whole situation and aired his
annoyance.

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has released the May/June 2015 WASSCE results, withholding the results of students in 13 states that are owing the Council.
The Head of Nigerian Office, Mr Charles Eguridu who disclosed this at its Yaba Office said:”Out of 1,593,442 candidates who sat for the examinations, only 616,370 candidates, representing 38.68% obtained credits in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics.”
Justifying the slight improvement in the results from previous years, Eguridu said that in 2013, a total candidates who obtained five credits in English and Mathematics were 639,760 representing 38.30 per cent.

A part-time lecturer at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Afeez Baruwa, has been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl, identified as Caroline (not her real name).
It was learnt that the victim, who was reportedly raped inside a study room, was seeking admission into the University.
Baruwa who was arrested by the Surulere Police Division on Monday, August 3 told the police in his statement that the sexual intercourse was by mutual consent, insisting that he did not rape the victim.
Caroline got to know the lecturer through her Dad because they both belonged to the same landlords’ association in the Abesan, Ipaja area.
