solomon111: Why didn't you take female football teams into consideration.? U20 is hard to cheat in unlike U17 Balotelli is 20 Neymar is 20 Oscar is 20 At 20 a boy is clearly a man At 16 17 a boy is a boy! As far as U 23 Ghana was the first African country to get a medal in the 1992 Olympics. So Ghana walked for you to FLY!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_1992_Summer_Olympics As far as the women I don't care!! Ghana Nigeria Head to Head http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/statisticsandrecords/headtohead/team1=gha/team2=nga/index.html |

Qelvin: are you sure http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/statisticsandrecords/headtohead/team1=gha/team2=civ/index.html Ghana won the U20 world cup in 2009!! The only African country to ever do it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_FIFA_U-20_World_Cup Ivory Coast is nothing and a very small team who have accomplished noting. When big teams are talking be quiet and take notes Ivory Coast produced great players but Ghana has done better in the last few years Ghana Ghana 2006 world cup - Round of 16 2008 African cup - Semi Final 2010 African cup - Final 2010 world cup - Quarter Final 2012 African cup Semi Final 2013 African cup Semi Final Ivory Coast 2006 world cup - Group exit 2008 African cup of nations- Semi Final 2010 African cup- Quarter Final 2010 world cup - Group exit 2012 African cup Final 2013 African cup Quarter Final SO, tell me who is greater in recent years You are a nobody on the world stage and have never done anything there and even Africa you are struggling The only thing which will push Ivory Coast to the top quickly is winning the senior world cup but all your players are old now. Let me do Nigeria. Nigeria 2006 world cup: Did not qualify 2008 African cup : Quarter Final 2010 African cup: Semi Final 2010 world cup: Group exit 2012 African cup: Did not Qualify 2013 African cup: Final- Champions Once again who is the greatest! Glorious Ghana!! Ghana Great Ghana Glorious!! ONLY Ghana can LEAD the revolution!!! Only Ghana can lead the way! I won't walk behind any country but Ghana!! Ghana great, Ghana Glorious!! |

Youth tournaments don't matter. Only look at the senior team ; So I will give them less weight and do more analysis! Looking at world titles World cup Ghana Quarter Final Cameroon Quarter Final Senegal Quarter Final World cup U20 Ghana Gold Olympics Nigeria Gold Cameroon Gold U17 World cup Nigeria Gold 3X Ghana Gold 2X So in reality it is between Ghana, Cameroon, and Nigeria... Thus, one must go to the African cup Egypt 7 titles Ghana 4 titles Cameroon 4 titles Nigeria 3 titles The rest of the things are not worth looking at unless you want to include Ghana's 5 West African cup of nations trophies from the 80's !!! In giving weight to the accomplishments the Senior World cup must have the most weight because it is the highest level!! I will exclude Senegal though because they have never even won the African cup and not won anything since the performed at the world cup.... 1 Ghana 2) Cameroon 3) Nigeria 4) Egypt Egypt concerns me though because they can only perform in Africa!! For a country of 90 million they should have won at least 1 world cup game before!! Even Jamaica has won a world cup game and they are only 2 million! |

Getting to the quarter final of the Senior world cup is the biggest honor so automatically 1) Ghana - Since Ghana did it more recently 2) Senegal -2002 3) Cameroon -1990 4) Nigeria- never made it to the quarter final The rest is debatable. Egypt has never won a world cup game. They can only perform in Africa where they pick the refs that favor them from the CAF office in Egypt |

Red-Light: Brazil used kids, Nigeria used old men. Even this tournament there was some corruption with Nigeria bringing at least 3 over-aged players. Ivory Coast did the same. I call this the final of the old men. And when old men play old men it is bound to be close. If Nigeria had brought real 17 year olds they would have failed miserably! 1 Like |

Nigeria is paying the price for getting lucky against Ivory Coast in the African cup. Nigeria will not defeat Ivory Cast at any age level for at least 10 years. |

The Ivory Coast emerged winners of the African Under-17 Championship in Morocco after defeating Nigeria on penalties on Saturday. The game ended 1-1 in regulation time and went straight to penalties accordance to FIFA regulation for the under-17s. The Ivorians won the spot kick by 5-4. The Nigerians began well with Izu Omego putting his team one goal up after seven minutes. Ivory Coast struggled to cope with the pacy Nigerians until the 26th minute when Chris Bile Bedia evened the game. Bedia's goal came against the run of play after poor defending by the Nigerian led to goalkeeper, Adeyinka Adewale gifting the ball after coming off his line. Within the next six minutes, Ifeanyi Matthew and Chiedbere Nwakali came close to restoring Nigeria's lead before the break. Three minutes into the second half, Musa Yahaya was played into a scoring opportunity with sight at goal after a superb offensive play but he could only hit the side-net. On 52 minutes, Bedia was in position to score a second goal for the Ivorians with a close range header but Adewale reacted well. The tournament's leading scorer, Isaac Success, found himself inside the Ivory Coast's penalty area but shot really wide. Inside the last 20 minutes, Nigeria thought they had a penalty shout when Success was bundled down in the goal area by four Ivorian defenders. But with 16 minutes left, goalscorer Omego was sent off by the centre referee, Mahamadou Keita from Mali for an elbow offence. However, it was Nwakali's miss during the penalty shootout that proved to be Nigeria's undoing as Franck Kessie, Jean Chester Diallo, Bekanty Angban, Aboubacar Keita and Dogbole Niangbo scored all five kicks for the Ivorians to be crowned African champions. http://www.supersport.com/football/african-youth-championships/news/130427/Ivory_Coast_are_African_U17_champs |
