TravelRe: Info Needed On Nigeria's E-passport by smoothop1:
I applied for a first issue Nigerian e-passport for my daughter yesterday 18/07/2012
i am a Nigerian and my wife British. my daughter was born in the UK and hold a UK passport already.

I had all the documents required as followed:

copy and original of her current British passport
copy and original of her mother's British passport data page
copy and original of my Nigerian MRP passport (which i also renewed yesterday)
copy of my long birth certificate and original
printed out form
acknowledgement slip
payment slip
postal order £20
booking appointment number.
guarantor's form that i filled out
Letter of consent for our daughter to apply for a passport by me and my wife which we both signed

they accepted all and not even asked to see the original documents and gave me back the
guarantor form.

E-Passport to be ready on 27/07/2012

took just under 2 hours for the whole process

we were told by the officials that you can submit a prepaid envelope with your application so your new passport can be sent to you if you live far away

you can also let someone pick it up for you as long as you do a letter of authority for the to collect on your behalf and signed by you.

thebaft: So, one set of payments showing pending while the other set showing confirmed. This might mean that sw global llc has not accepted the second payment. How long does it take your financial institution to process refunds?

I was googling and saw these two.numbers attributed to sw global llc. You can try calling these as well.

1-202-223-6895
1-860-693-6319.

Maybe one of those numbers may go.
No I had 2 passport applications in the basket totalling $130.00
Payment made and confirmation received in email
receipt and acknowledgment printed out on NIS website
However, the same applications I paid for still shows in the basket as pending payments despite having the same applications in payment history
I have been billed for $130.00 twice.

Efe25: I recently applied for a first issue nigerian e-passport for myself- my parents are both nigerian and I was born in the UK and hold a UK passport already. I had all the documents required as followed:

copy of my current british passport
copy of my mother's nigerian passport data page
copy of my long birth certificate and original
printed out form
acknowledgement slip
payment slip
postal order £20
booking appointment number.
guarantor's form that my mum filled out

Even though I had all of these documents they only took:
copy of my mother's nigerian passport
copy of my birth certificate although the looked at the original to make sure it was the same
acknowledgement slip
payment slip
postal order
booked appointment number.
They did not ask for the quarantor form at all. But you will definately need a copy of one of your parent's passport.

I applied 1 week ago, I dropped off my documents and they took my picture and finger-prints etc today and I am going back next week to collect the passport. Hope that helps. This was Nigeria High commission in London. I got there at around 9am and was out by 11am.
How long does it take to get an interview when u apply online?
my old MRP expired in may 2012 and i want to apply for a Nigerian passport for daughter who holds only a UK passport
Is it possible to get same interview dates?

Thanks people

I was told by Nigeria House in London to apply for my daughter's passport as a lost one. I told them she only has a British passport and I'm a Nigeria and British and it her first Nigerian passport!! They said I still had to treat it like it is a lost passport case. Why do things have to  be complicated with our country? Starting with lies for an innocent girl's application Java!!!

Has anybody gone through this too

Omo_Tier1:
You can use your old MRP to enter Nigeria but you can not use it to travel out. Like you rightly said, apply for the new e-passport and have it with you. You do not need to transfer your ILR to the new passport. At MMA, if your old MRP passport is not 'cancel without prejudice' then use your new e-passport for identification only and ask them to continue to stamp your old Mechine Readable Passport (MRP).

Hopes this helps.
Thanks Omo_Tier1 for the response phew, wink wink wink wink, i dont intend to transfer my ILR anyway i will just be glad to use it to enter the Nigeria and i will apply fo an e-passport the next day. I do have a British Passport which i can use when leaving Nigeria (That is if i do not get my e-passport in time).

Guys,

I'm Planning to go to Nigeria in April and i still have the MRP issued in may 2007 and expire may 2012, it has ILR visa on it and I'm wondering if it is still allowed until the actual expiry date. However, i do plan to apply for a biometric one when i get to Lagos as the Nigerian House in London is Shambolic

Has anyone on here got any experience if u get grief off the immigration at MMA on arrival?

Will i be allowed in?

bla bla bla how did you get your nigerian passport that used to go to obodoyibo to marry that british girl
can the application be made on your behalf, when you got your british passport was it made on your behalf
am sure you know how to get a nig passport its not rocket science

joxiri there is no need to be sarcastic to people especially when they ask for help!!!!!
i was refering to my daughther's passport being applied on her behalf, To apply for a UK e-passport all u need to do is send your passport photographs and application form and also documents if needed and not be there in person. i am aware that the MRP Nigerian passport requires u to have your picture taken by the Nigerian Immigration Service. I was under the impression that could be the same procedure for the Nigerian e-passport. What i meant as on my daughter behalf was for my mum who lives in london to submitt her application for her instead of me coming down to london

I did not go to obodoyibo to marry "that british Girl". as u may know my clever it a crime to marry girl as that will make u a pedeo as u cannat marry an underage

Hi Guys

My 3 months old daughter has a British passport as her mother is British and i also have a Nigerian passport. i would like to apply for a Nigerian passport for her so she would not need to apply for a Nigerian visa when i decide to take her to Nigeria next year for holidays

my questions are:

how long does it take to apply for a baby's passport at the Nigerian high commission in London?

will i and my baby have to be there in person?

if they do postal application do i still have to sent her British passport and birth certificate? instead of photocopies

i work on a 2 week shit rota at work and would want to know what u could suggest about taking leave from work, coming back to collect the passport if issued or give my mum all the documents she needs for the application and do it all as my mum lives in London (i live in newcastle)

my wife is a White British and was wondering if it was possible for her to apply for a Nigerian passport as she is married to me

what sort of a country is this. how can they make one go all the way to Abuja for re-issue when they have offices in states, do these people not think about the inconvenience they put people through. why do we nigerians always have to take this shit from these dickheads. i think we all need to boycott these institutions but the problem in nigeria is that are people ready to stand by you whe standing up against these people. President Yarafukindua goes on about improving nigeria but woth about the thugs, robbers, thieves who call themselves immigration, custom and NDLEA officers. also the issues of unemploymet, employment law in nigeria, and so on but all we see is fucking governors and party in court everyday over elections. another issue that comes to mind in that of the enforcement of paying tax without the consideration of what will provide tax. is it the unemployed, the foriegn companies operating in nigeria, govt officials (theives ITT) or the 15% of employed nigerians or the underpaid employees.

the nysc is also a nuisance whereby graduates have to wait for placements and the one who have no option but to work in order to feed yourself and results in employers paying shit money compared to someone who ave served and also doing the sam job.

i think i have to stop now because im getting worked up

last year on my back to london flying with bellview airlines, i was the forst on the queue and presented my passport to some guys who calls themselves "profilers". he said to me where r u going and i replied saying im going to the UK, he said wot for i told him i live there and y all these questions he then said ave u got any proff of id and i said the UK do not have ID card, he then said step aside while i see to others o then said y he told me to go back to the british High Commision to get proof which i asked proof of what he said "i go issue u with a notice make u carry go embassy and u can go on wednesday instead of today saturday. i asked him do u not have protocol officers who verifies (ILR) he then ignored me then shouted at him to stop fucking about. however, there was another profiler upstairs who saw the whole show, i then went upstirs to ask for their boss and was told he was not on duty and this guy told me "oga i know say ur residence permit na real but if u fit give me $1000.00 i go do something". i said ok no problem, he then went downstairs to ther 2 profilers who cleared me and then i got my boarding pass. i had told the guy i would only give him 70,000.00 Naira. as i was about to board the plane they came to block me again saying wey the money the other profiler said in yoruba are u sure u want to take the risk by not letting this man get on his flight and he said yes. meanwhile i had told the profilers that my cousin would give them the moneyand that one of them should go to the carpark with him knowing they were not going to get a dine from me. so the bellview cabin crew asked them saying r u driopping this passanger and they replied no and i said thank u guys and as i was about to get on the plane one of the profilers came running saying that man fooled us and he said were will i get 70,000.00 now and that the money was for all of them including the bellview check in staff. i did geyt on the plane and lmao and my cousin called me on the phone before take off saying the guy was crying for some money he did not work for. on my arrival to the UK i called Bellview to tell them about the issue and that i would publish the issue as i had evidence of this on my phone's video camera but till today no apology from them and they dont give a shit. i will keep his evidence unitil i go back to nigeria next month and give a copy to AIT and then Al jazeera and obviously BBC Panaorama.

what make it worse is that my grand mother even went on her knees to beg them to be sensible but she was told to go away and i was asked for $1000.00. if this guys keep sending people back to the embassy the british consulate will be put under pressure on there services in terms of people they have to attend to and possibly delaying time for people who needed urgent appointment for a visa. which can in some way affect some of our relatives in the future
