I don't get you. How can someone thrive in politics yet, knows nothing about governance? Lol! Then you ended with an excuse why his good policy is impracticable. Why give excuse for failure? A good policy must be practicable, if it isn't practicable, what's it's use? If it can't be implemented, how do you measure and say it is a good one? Why so much excuses for failure?

Though the English common law, which forms a significant part of Nigeria's legal framework, has Christian origins and influence, it's not exclusively based on Christian principles. Those laws are not questionable and to a large extent are better. As a Muslim I can't quite say the same about the Shari'a law which has raised questions about violating human rights.
If this becomes national, it'll bring more religious divide and would easily question our understanding of law as we know it

Road construction in 2025,....when the economy is in shabbles you are talking about road construction a statutory duty of every government is what we should give a standing ovation? Buhari's govt had over 600 road projects, with over 10,000km roads constructed. Today, nobody is talking about those roads because of how poor Nigerians became under his watch.
A Reasonable Government will aim for a robust and sustainable economic growth instead of allocating limited resources to just road constructions. People wey think say dey get sense... They only use the road construction to steal loan money.

Labour fights for you and me when our rights at work place is abused. Also you can fight for yourself too, but of course Labour is stronger and gets result quickly. Labour collect dues to be able to run it's operations and like you said the leaders are elected and have specific tenures.

Obama listened to the yearnings of his people not just Labour Congress, and got the glory and this remains as one of his legacies. PWe have a Ministry that gulps billions of tax payers money with all the instrument at their disposal yet they keep mute to the atrocities committed by these foreign Nationals. Labour can only agitate, pressurize while the Ministry can do more to the extent of initiating actions to shutdowns.

Obviously you don't know the role of the Labour Union. They act as your representative and speak for you. I can bypass Labour and seek legal means if my employer breaches the contract, especially when my case is not a collective one. But, if there isn't regulation or policy how will that be possible? The NLC is registered and regulated by the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Labour is saddled with formulating policies and enforcement as regards employment in the country. The issue we are debating is already being addressed by Ministry of Labour's National Employment Policy and the National Policy on Occupational, Safety and Health. All that is needed is enforcement. Simple!

Oga NLC/TUC is like me and you, they can't make policy or enforce it. Obama signed executive orders prohibiting sexual descrimination by contractors, he also signed another for pay equity. Currently, Trump is focusing on strengthening its borders. Why can't a Nigerian President sign or enforce an order mandating all factories to pay minimum wage, including NSITF and Pension plan for its workers? NLC/TUC can only create that awareness, it is left for the Minister of Labour and Presidency to act upon the yearnings of the people.

For National issues such as this, it's the Presidents call. We talking about foreign Nationals maltreating citizens in the name of employment. The Ministry of Labour has the responsibility of overseeing several govt agencies that ensures suitable employment for the populace by all standards. The Ministry is headed by a Minister who is appointed by the Presidency.
