That is what makes Nigerians angry. They always ask their government why is SA always getting the best while they are always fasten at the back of a bus. Their government is not honest enough to tell them that "listen, SA has a small population with revenues that are more than 3X Nigeria's revenues". The same applies to schildren from small families as compared to large families whose children always have to fight for food in order to get their share.
They should consider family planning, clearly there isn't enough money to take care of them and buy proper military equipment. Always getting handouts and Chinese cheap nonsense

Nigerians are amongst the world's most traveled people, we have an inherent compulsion to explore. This is why Afren oil and gas co, a Nigerian company, is the only African company doing business in Iraq's oil sector, we are also building plants in Nepal.

We are adventurous!

Nigeria is the best country in Africa!
Again your ambition supersedes the truth, Naira idiot cannot compare SA with your useless ugly country.

You fool, you only have a single Pilot who can land at sea, this is somalia, burundi, malawi standard.

Only a soweto clown would think that's first world standard.

Fact : SAAF cannot perform it's basic duty of protecting the SA air space.

Fact : The hopeless SAAF is begging for pilots from commercial airlines to fly it's assets as the current crop of pilots are to dull to fly the Gripen, Hawk , Puma Helicopter and every other asset.

Fact : only 1 SAAF pilot is qualified to land at sea.

Fact : SAAF only has 9 Gripen Pilots and none of them are combat qualified.

Fact : the SAAF is an inherently useless force.
If it makes you sleep at night grin

Lol talk of ambition. Gripen vs F7 hahahahaha! Please buy new jets

SA has really come of age with regards to development and we still going strong. Almost every country has slumps but we more than eradicated more than half of them through means of RDP for the poor and middle class professionals numbers has gone tremendously higher than before. Nigeria has more slumps than SA and Nigerias rate of living is far below that of ours, hence your brothers and sisters flock in SA as a result of seeking better life and opportunities.

This is just Pretoria city town's only.

Twiga supplying Nyoka APCs to East African customer

Written by Guy Martin, Friday, 04 September 2015

South African defence equipment and logistics company Twiga is supplying its Mamba-class armoured personnel carrier to a customer in East Africa, the company has revealed, with the vehicles due to be completed by the end of next year.

Damien De Lange, CEO of Twiga, told defenceWeb that the contract was signed this year and involves a small number of Nyoka armoured personnel carriers which will be built in the client country under a technology transfer and joint venture arrangement.

Twiga originally developed the Nyoka after receiving a requirement from the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), which wanted a new Mamba class vehicle that incorporated their upgrades to meet operational requirements. In August 2014 the UPDF commissioned the first five of 12 Nyokas after they had been manufactured in a joint venture between the Ugandan Ministry of Defence and Twiga’s Ugandan sister company Impala Services and Logistics.

de Lange said that the Nyoka upgrades include ballistic protection equal to NATO STANAG Level 1, shooting ports, a ballistically protected grill, air conditioning, three weapon positions on the roof, pneumatically operated rear doors, an anti-roll bar, improved braking system, infrared illuminator, improved lights and other mechanical improvements.

Armour plate is cut in South Africa and shipped out to the client country for manufacture and assembly. The old Mamba driveline (engine, gearbox, axles) is remanufactured while the rest of the vehicle is 100% new. The engines are remanufactured and certified in South Africa.

Part of the Nyoka programme involves the training of personnel in specialised and armoured welding, mechanical and auto-electrical repair, pneumatics and store management.

Twiga and Impala have been in business since early 2011 and supply military and security forces with armoured vehicles, night vision equipment, rugged boat systems, thermal imaging devices and a wide range of training and support programmes. Around 90% of Twiga’s business is joint venture manufacturing of armoured personnel carriers, the supply of spares, weapons mounts, night vision systems and ex-South African vehicles and equipment.

You are building NOTHING ! It's all speculation on paper like Project Biro.....Nigeria is starting construction next year while South Africa stands by and watches Naija become Africa's biggest nuclear power !

"In September 2014 Rosatom signed an agreement with South Africa’s energy minister to advance the prospect of building up to 9.6 GWe of nuclear capacity by 2030. The minister said: “This agreement opens up the door for South Africa to access Russian technologies, funding, infrastructure, and provides proper and solid platform for future extensive collaboration." It is expected to involve some $10 billion in local supply chain provision, with localisation of 60%. Necsa later said that the new agreement "initiates a preparatory phase for the procurement process for the new nuclear build in South Africa. Similar agreements will be signed with other vendor countries that have expressed an interest in assisting South Africa with the build program...No vendor country has been chosen yet and no technology has been decided. The agreement refers only to what Russia could provide if chosen."

Hmn, it's not really that simple. Fact is your military embarked on the BEE on its employment and deployment. So white skilled soldiers left and Zulus incompetence was a showcased for the world with huge military debacles and suicide missions.

Report had it that the airforce traditionally employ the best graduating students while the next group of students went to the commercial airlines. The ANC reversed this trend and employed 2nd grade Zulu students. So why won't a Zulu woman with no experience be a vessel commander.

My source is 2015 and it clearly states all your equipment lie unused and wasted because of lack of qualified Zulu military men. Your military is now seeking the recall and reversal of whites to their usual role.

Summary : all Zulu military personnel are grossly incompetent.
My source is 2015 and it clearly states all your equipment lie unused and wasted because of lack of qualified Zulu military men. Your military is now seeking the recall and reversal of whites to their usual role.

You mixing up things in trying to make an argument chief! Firstly the call to employe more white race In the defence force has nothing to do with skills shortage, simply cause they will be new recruits in the defence force with no experience. This is only done in line with the South African employment act. This has nothing to do with BEE and your claims of SANDF incompetence are yet to be proven so your statement falls of short. You need to go back and understand what incompetence means just cause between me and you I'd say SA is far from that term as compared to Nigeria

The latest South African Survey by the SA Institute of Race Relations shows that the military plans to employ more whites and fewer blacks.

The defence force admits there is a shortage of white personnel but says its recruitment drives are not based on racial quotas.

The survey shows the department's employment equity targets are changing:

The black employment target from the current 72% to 65%;

Coloured employment from 13% to 10%;

Indian employment will remain at 1%;

The target for whites will increase from 14% to 24%.

The Institute of Race Relations figures are based on information contained in the defence department's annual report and on its own calculations.

Stats SA's 2015 midyear population estimates show that blacks represent 80% of the population, coloureds 8.8%, whites 8.2% and Indians 2.4%.

The research shows that there are huge numbers of vacancies in the military's land and air defence, medical, and defence intelligence services.

The military currently has 57141 black, 10991 white, 10099 coloured and 916 Indian members.

Kerwin Lebone, a researcher at the institute, said the organisation had repeatedly asked the defence force to explain its recruitment plans but to no avail.

"We believe a skills shortage - especially of members able to operate equipment bought during the arms deal and subsequent acquisitions - is the reason," he said.

"There are not enough skilled people in the defence force. It's no secret that equipment is lying around because no one can operate it. Look at the air force and its grounded fighter jets, which can't be flown because there are hardly any pilots."

Lebone said that when the military started to get rid of whites to bring it into conformity with national demographics it could not have foreseen that the new equipment would need people with experience or skills.

"Because of this, one of the things the defence is doing is hiring skilled personnel. It takes time to train people."

Lebone added: "The principles of [black economic empowerment] must be weighed against what's important for the country
."

SA National Defence Union national secretary Pikkie Greeff said the military found itself in this position because "when they started awarding exit packages they let go too many of the racial groupings that they now want to increase".
1.thank you the post but I already know it, we are a multi race country of which we strive to strike balance were needed so nothing wrong with that.
2. Just like other women in our country occupying higher positions based on merit, she also worked hard and got the post on merit.
3. SA believe that women have a very important role to play in the countries development and is one of the leading in women empowerment cause they work very hard and contribute significantly in the countries transformation.

Gill Marcus she's the governor of the SA reserve bank
Thuli Madonsela she's the public protector
Dr Nkosazana dlamini Zuma she's president of the African Union to name just few out of thousands contributing a lot to our beautiful country.

She's got ZERO combat experience

She's can't even catch a pirate

She's physically unfit with her pot belly

She's given the job under secret military version of BEE favourijg blacks over whites according to ANC policy.

She's another incompetent black promoted because qualified whites have left SANDF or suppressed because of politics
.
Don't be jealous now, for the fact that Naigerian navy doesn't have doesn't mean she is incapable of commanding a navy vessel. It's difficult for pirates to try SA navy cause they know very well of what skills and equipment we posses. Read her cv and tell me were BEE comes from there.
