You know I am an ardent Gunner to the bone, I follow my team religiously but I have no problem telling anyone that cares to listen that Ozil is only trying to divert and distort the narrative regarding his retirement and the backlash. While Ozil is not the major reason why Germany failed as that is at the door steps of the German FA and J. Low, Ozil was poor even before the world cup. Remember a section of Arsenal fans criticized him for choosing games he wants to play in after we were eliminated from the Europa? There are other German players who practice Islam in the German national team so Ozil and his camp can stop that nonsense.

Here is the issue, why did Ozil keep quiet until after a shambolic world cup? If he did not write it, why did he not distance himself from the comment or the idea behind the comment? This is very simple.

I would love to imagine that they all exchanged pleasantries and handshakes with president Putin and none of them disrespected the office of their country or their country of citizenship.
