Policemen attached to the Bariga Police Station Lagos State police command have begun a manhunt for suspected cultists over the murder of their leader.

The deceased leader identified by his nickname simply as Major according to investigation is said to be behind the initiation of Eiye boys in Shomolu and Bariga areas of the state.

Sadly, Major who was described as a fearless leader and a terror in his community and to other rival cult groups could not save himself as his killers caught him unawares at his weakest point.

Major was killed while he was sleeping at Taiwo off Rashida Kotun Street Idiaba, Bariga, Lagos, last month.

A source who requested anonymity said his assailants sneaked into his house and stabbed Major in the chest and other parts of his body, adding that they knew that was the only way they could attack and kill him.

A Plateau State organisation has revealed the shocking number of casualities which came about as a result of the crisis in Jos.

The Director General, Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Joseph Lengman has said modest estimate puts the figure of those killed in crises in Jos in a little more than the last 10 years as slightly above 7,000.

Lengman said in his opening remark at the 2017 conference of the Christian Council of Nigeria in Jos, “Beside the massive internal displacement of people and the immeasurable destruction of infrastructure, livelihoods, homes and schools, findings of several studies indicate increased levels of fear, anxiety, depression, mutual suspicion, intolerance and insecurity among those who have witnessed or were directly affected by violence and terrorist attacks in the past.”

Actress Funke Akindele and her husband, singer JJC Skillz are presently on vacation in Dubai. They visited an aquarium today and shared photos via their respective social media pages.

Recall that Funke Akindele clocked 40 years almost a month ago on the 24th August 2017. Her husband Abdul Rasheed-Bello aka JJCskillz, family and close friends, gave her a surprise party.

A teenage girl escaped from the hands of deadly ritualists who forced her into their vehicle in Delta state.

A young Nigerian girl hawking cocoyam in Ethiope area of Delta state has been saved from the hands of money ritualists who kidnapped and forced her into their car at gunpoint.

The men forced the girl to Ethiope Primary and Secondary School near Palmer Road and tried to kill her before she started screaming. Her loud scream was heard by people in the area who came and rescued her.

We reported earlier this week, how the Nigerian Police stormed shrines in Ikorodu area of Lagos State suspected to be operation bases of dreaded group, Badoo.

The Lagos state commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi led a team of security personnel to demolish six shrines in Ikorodu town in Lagos state. Items found in some of the shrines included coffins, human head sculpture, hard currencies, and other fetish materials.

The British government has said its refusal to shut down Radio Biafra, an arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is not deliberate, but that it has not received any request to that effect.

The United Kingdom said there was no request from the Nigerian government to have the radio shut down.

The denial was made by the British high commission, in a statement by its press and public affairs officer, Joe Abuku.

The short statement said: “The UK is not aware of any representation from the Nigerian government about Radio Biafra.
