Just like the student loan every other region were optimistic and submitted entries and have been enjoying the benefits only the skeptics remain adamant with almost zero representation but one million percent complain and criticism of the scheme.

I have started reading their usual line of negative thinking on this thread already.

The U.S.A government must have noticed that even when their lecturers don't go on strike, some Nigerian students still don't take going to classes seriously.

The people opened a thread on Nairaland in 2012 while he was governor. Most people who said horrible things about him then are today his praise singers.

If Wike lacks the principle to take a stand on either to belong to PDP or defect to APC, then he has zero right to speak on anyone else’s political choices.

The drunken master’s drowsy rhetorics only tickles the iberiberism of the people of the corn.
If drinking is bad why would any one who has the goodness of humanity at heart build a brewery?

Given how Wike has openly attacked almost all the politicians who helped him get to the top, I wonder how he would face them the day he becomes politically irrelevant.

He is a politician and they are too. So the picture below gives an insight.

That is why the Benin Monarchy has more respect than a lot of these others. The monarchy is bloodline, not ruling houses. This eliminates the possibility of political interference and hijack.
But Oba of Benin involves himself in politics. So what are you saying in essence?

Politics › Re: PDP Eyeing Jonathan As Obi’s Backup For 2027 Election by Softmirror:
AMINDA:
In 2023, it was the Northern Muslims that splitted their votes into 3 just to accommodate Tinubu. Tinubu with 5.6m votes, Atiku with 6.9m votes and Kwankwaso with 1.4m votes. Obi was the greatest beneficiary of that as he ended up getting the votes of Northern christians in addition to the Christian demography votes. In 2027, it's looking likely that it will be the South who will be splitting their votes into 3 with Tinubu, Jonathan and Obi scrambling for the votes. The North has no incentive to support Tinubu in 2027 and his woeful performance only makes the decision easy to make.
Oga head or tail Tinubu is going to win. All this is just noise.

Most of these parties have very serious internal issues to even start with. The only formidable party today is APC with all of her loyalist intact and more defecting into the party.
Have you checked the list by INEC of party chairmen?
Did you see David Mark as ADC chairman?
Did you see Aregbesola as Secretary?
Labour nko?

Widen your spectrum and stop viewing things from a narrow perspective.

Lots of you don't even know the rules of the game let alone how to play to even win. Nothing concern Jonathan with PDP presidential ticket, there are constitutional clauses to that effect.
Politics › Re: PDP Eyeing Jonathan As Obi’s Backup For 2027 Election by Softmirror: 1:47pm On Aug 04, 2025
AMINDA:
Behind the emoji, we can sense the fear and trepidation. PDP fielding Jonathan will further dampen Tinubu's chances especially in the Southsouth and even in parts of the North. It would even be double jeopardy if Obi contests solo in another party. Where then will Tinubu's numbers come from? Just the Southwest? Laugh now and cry later.
Head or tail Tinubu will still win. So forget all those permutations.

That only shows acceptance. And of course it is your fault.

Anyway, let me paint another scenario. Have you and maybe your family ever tried to board a bus that is already full to maximum capacity only for the passengers and the driver doing their best to still create space so that you can be carried along for the journey, an over load? You see, deplorable states of things are mostly our own making due to acceptance.
Crime › Re: Overcrowded, Overlooked: Inside Ogun Correctional Centre Crisis by Softmirror: 11:56am On Aug 04, 2025
Our prisons should never be made to be attractive or comfortable because in such instances some people deliberately commit crimes so that the can be put in prison to be fed and sheltered. No paying of rent, no paying for food.

As a lawyer, I visit prisons at least 3 to 4 times a month and I can tell you're absolutely correct about innocent persons in prison! A man is in Oko prison in Benin because he confronted his rich landlord who impregnated his daughter. It's sad
We have heard and read so many different stories in Europe, America about people convicted and sent to prison only to find out that they are innocent after they had spent very, very long years in prison.

The man who confronted his Landlord for impregnating his daughter went about it in which way that resulted in him landing in prison.

Crime › Re: Overcrowded, Overlooked: Inside Ogun Correctional Centre Crisis by Softmirror: 11:19am On Aug 04, 2025
Prisons should never be made to be comfortable. What we should focus on is how to make sure that the innocent people are not the ones that end up there. A prisoner has no right for comfort at all as long as he or she is found guilty.
