🚨🇳🇬 Eric Chelle, have you seen this goalkeeper? 👀🧤 Eric Chelle, Nigeria needs to take a look at this young goalkeeper! Meet João Vinicius Chiduben Paulino Tahi, a Brazilian goalkeeper born on March 24, 2007, who has developed through the competitive youth football system in São Paulo. The youngster has been associated with the Corinthians youth setup and has also featured in the Paulista U20 football environment, gaining valuable experience against some of Brazil's promising young talents. But here is what makes his profile particularly interesting to Nigerian football fans… His middle name “Chiduben” is of Igbo origin, raising questions about a possible Nigerian family connection. While a name alone does NOT confirm Nigerian heritage or FIFA eligibility, his background is certainly something worth investigating. Eric Chelle, this is where the scouting should start! With the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations set to be hosted by Ghana and the 2027 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations confirmed for Egypt, Nigeria needs to start identifying and monitoring eligible young talents well ahead of these competitions. For the U-23 level, the 2027 tournament in Egypt could provide a major platform for the next generation of Nigerian players. That makes now the right time to look beyond the usual names and explore players developing outside Nigeria. Could João Vinicius 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗻 be one of those players? Imagine having a young goalkeeper developing in Brazilian football while potentially having a connection to Nigeria. 🇧🇷🤝🇳🇬 We are NOT saying he is already eligible. We are saying Nigeria should investigate, verify his family background and nationality status and, if eligible, give him an opportunity to be assessed. 🧤 Young goalkeeper. 🇧🇷 Brazilian football development. 🇳🇬 Possible Nigerian connection. 🏆 2027 U-23 AFCON in Egypt. 👀 One to watch? Eric Chelle, should João Vinicius Paulino get a Nigeria U-23 invitation if his Nigerian eligibility is confirmed? Copied

🚨 BREAKING: NSC Moves to Dissolve NFF Leadership, Normalisation Committee Imminent The National Sports Commission (NSC) has reportedly taken a decisive step towards the establishment of a Normalisation Committee to oversee Nigerian football, following the Super Falcons’ elimination from the African playoff for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup by South Africa’s Banyana Banyana last Thursday in Morocco. According to The Guardian, the NSC is said to have secured FIFA’s approval for the move after allegedly assuring FIFA President Gianni Infantino of Nigeria’s support for his re-election bid. The Commission is also reported to have reached out to CAF President Patrice Motsepe. The development could spell the end of the tenure of NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, as the NSC reportedly moves to replace the current leadership with a three-month Normalisation Committee tasked with preparing the ground for fresh NFF elections. Interestingly, the NSC’s reported plan to appoint former NFF President Amaju Pinnick as chairman of the committee has allegedly been rejected by some influential figures within the Presidency. Sources also claim that there were objections to the proposed retention of Dr Mohammed Sanusi as secretary of the committee. With the key figure in the Presidency expected back in Abuja on Monday or Tuesday, The Guardian reports that the composition of the Normalisation Committee could be announced as early as Tuesday. The committee, once constituted, is expected to administer Nigerian football for three months, address some of the contentious issues surrounding the NFF structure and ultimately pave the way for a new NFF election. A senior NSC official contacted by The Guardian declined to comment on the matter, describing it as sensitive. “We are working, and Nigerians will hear from us very soon.” If this report materialises, Nigerian football could be heading for one of its most significant administrative shake-ups in recent years. 🇳🇬⚽
