I have also developed a talent of explaining complex ideas and problems in simple terms using examples from daily life to enhance my student's understanding and also make learning very attractive. Kindly point me to some online platforms that could connect teachers to international students. Thank you. |
. The North could be a powerhouse, but they keep getting stuck with leaders who don't know what they're doing. Before oil took over, the North, especially Kano, was a major player in manufacturing. Those industrial estates –Challawa Sharada, Bompai, you name it – were churning out all sorts of stuff, just as good as anything you'd find in Lagos or Ogun. They were making it in the North back then – biscuits, sweets, detergents, even cosmetics! It was the Indians and Lebanese who came in and set up all these factories, giving lots of people jobs and bringing in a lot of money for the government. But the rise of the oil industry and the political dominance of Northern in Nigeria during the 1980s contributed to the neglect and eventual decline of the region's established industries. In the 1980s, Aminu Dantata, Dangote's maternal uncle, acquired most of these companies and industrial estates in Kano and promptly shut them down. Just like that! Northern Nigerian Flour Mills (NNFM), the makers of Golden Penny noodles, was once the pride of Bompai Industrial Estate. By the mid-2000s, however, the factory finally shut its doors. Before its closure, the area bustled with activity, attracting traders from across Nigeria, West Africa, and even overseas, making it as lively as Alaba International Market. Today, the scene is drastically different—silent and deserted, with only a lone gateman stationed outside. Yet, in a curious parallel to the Port Harcourt refinery and similar establishments, senior staff continue to draw salaries despite the factory’s inactivity. Northern Nigerian Flour Mills have now been converted to a warehouse and Golden Penny noodles is now manufactured in Lagos and sent here embarassed Our brother, Buhari was president for eight years, but he never considered reviving any of the industrial estates or big companies. Northern governors didn’t push him either, content with the steady inflow of funds from the federation account. Instead, billions were wasted on a fruitless search for oil in the north and Niger. Had these funds been invested in agriculture and the northern manufacturing companies, there would likely be no fear of the current tax reforms. |

Ilekokonit:Really inspiring. Thanks for sharing! |
NobleStag007:Recently, I stumbled across a video of the team in the dressing room. Pep keeps screaming at them the way a school teacher scream at students that didn't do assignment. Poor kids are already mentally exhausted and they need a break ![]() |
temisartana:I scored almost 300 in the just concluded Jamb, so I believe I've what it takes so long as hardwork and brilliance is concerned. It's just the issue of finance that I'm a little worried about. By God's grace I've saved funds that would last me at least up to level 3 in medical school. But I won't allow that bother me so much. I believe God is in control . I'll do my best to work harder on my side hustle make and save more money in my level 1. As you know, the courses been offered in year one are still basic sciences, so by the grace of God, I can easily juggle studies with work. |
ItisWell22:Thanks Doc ![]() |
I just clocked 29 and I'm about to begin my MBBS program in a federal University in the north six years after acquiring my BSc. I pray for God's mercies. |
Bandirao:Me and you are in thesame boat, dan'uwa. |
Dogalmighty17:As far as the two Christianity and Islam is concerned, the Yorubas are very liberal. That's one beautiful thing about them and adore then for that . In thesame family and in thesame house, you could even see siblings practicing either of the two religions while the love and respect they have for each other is still intactTinubu and his wife comes to mind. |
Is this not thesame akpaboi senate order woke to halt demolition until investigations are completed? |
. So Marta still dey play ball? |
DrAda:This is serious I'm quite sure many younger girls who are yet to become mothers might not have heard about it too |
DrAda:Doc. Are the pains unique to the first birth or is it common in every birth? |
Orlu13:From the report and the names of the wives stated there in, it's obvious that it's much more common in the western world than here, Africa. |
elfico:That reminds me, the death toll in Gaza since the start of the war is not up to 50,000 yet. |
. |
KingCold:You don start ba? ![]() You see beautiful thread by a beautiful-hearted south African, you wan ruin am. Thread wey no be your own. Abeg rest. |

. This life sef, I recall around the mid 2000s, funke akindele was a nobody in the film industry. I still remember a nollywood movie where she played the role of a maid while Rita Dominic and Stella Damasus were the lead actresses. If persin tell her say there might come a time in the future when she'd become more relevant, richer and influential than the more prettier actresses, she for say na lie. Infact, she fit think say the persin just dey mock her. |
nwirinedu:Exactly. Na this kind shalaye first make the elites collude with Ganduje sieze his throne the the other time. The oppressed are not complaining, infact they will are still strongly in full support of their brother oppressors so long as elections are concerned, so wetin come consign you? Sanusi obviously never learn him lesson at all |
RandDigital:Please feel free to proceed if that's what will bring you the joy and satisfaction you are obviously lacking in life ![]() It's funny how you guys always claim you are better than Nigerians but you keep going the extra mile to get our attention. If that's not low self-esteem then I'll eat my keyboard |
Silentgroper:It's obvious that this South African guy is paying nairaland for his country to get more attention and reactions from Nigerians Why always them? |
. It's a shame that this South African keeps posting shallow and immoral stuffs on nairaland especially when there are so much incredible stories, tradition and invention from your country that deserves to be shared. Why does it give you so much joy provoking negative reactions from Nigerians, potentially leading to a pointless and inflammatory online exchange? I no blame you sha, na mostly the fault of the mods wey you dey bribe to get your topics to fp. |
KosiGee:"Dandaudu" is name for a crossdresser or effeminate man. An homosexual is particularly referred to as "Dan madigo." Almost thesame as Dandaudu sha |
. Ah. Those guys are still trapped there. Haba SA Is it so hard to forgive? |
Expanse2020:But I'm also a Muslim and I'm not quite happy with what is happening in Saudiyya. You don't have to pass the corner of my village bro. All the information you need is at your fingertips. You could do a little research on Google, you will definitely find news articles where MBS banned praying for Palestinians in the major mosques. Infact, he even arrested some imams. MBS just recently legalized the sales of alcohol. Check and see. Right now, Saudiyya the cradle of Islam is being ruled by an ex Muslim. MBS is an atheist! |
Ezendigbo1978:Lol it seems you have not been following Saudi Arabia in the news for a while. Majority of the elites are no longerr Muslims.. Crown Prince MBS doesn't really care about islam. He's poised to opening Saudi Arabia to the world just like Dubai was opened to the world. Much like how Italy balances the sacredness of Vatican City with the liberal atmosphere of other cities, that's his vision for Saudi Arabia. Mecca would remain a revered holy site, while other cities in the kingdom would embrace western lifestyles, allowing alcohol, nightlife, LGBT acceptance, and even recreational drug use That's why they're always at loggerheads with the more conservative Islamic Republic of Iran |
Akpatan:Although, educated and enlightened. The guy have always been a tactless speaker. Reason why his throne was taken away from him the other time. He's always too straightforward for his own good. |
