sunsweet33: My office hired a new manager and as I was standing by the side doing something he came up behind me put his hand on my lower back/waist and asked “how are you doing”. At that moment all my usual fire went out of the window and I just froze up. Actually there were 3 other senior staff around who must have seen it and warned him because thereafter, he only tapped my shoulder or shoulder blades (which I dont have any problem with).
Now a couple of days ago I had my hands full again doing something and this man passed behind me, held both sides of my waist very briefly and brushed against my back.
the whole thing was over in less than 5 seconds and I didn’t even see the person until I turned my head to see him watching me from the other side of the office.
bearing in mind this is a senior boss, I don’t feel I can shout or confront as normal so I have just been giving some stern/cold attitudes and stepping out of the way in a more exaggerated way whenever he passes by me. And he has started reciprocating the awkwardness which made it easier for me.
But how realistic is this? In another thread somebody wrote that his brother tried to get his female colleagues fired for rejecting his advances and I fear something similar may happen to me.
Its so irritating. This guy says he has a girlfriend so why not go home and touch her? WTF. Get your evidence against him and warn him sternly never to try such again. If he persist report him or take legal action. |

Education › France Suspends Visas For Students From Mali, Niger And Burkina Faso by solex75(op): 4:49pm On Sep 17, 2023 |
France has suspended all new visas for students from Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso who were to continue their studies in the country due to the closure of French consular services in these countries. The suspension comes after thousands of people protested in the Nigerien capital, Niamey, demanding that France withdraw its ambassador and troops from the West African country. France suspended cooperation with Niger and Burkina Faso on July 29 and August 6, respectively after the coup in Niger. In November 2022, the same decision was taken for Mali. https://citinewsroom.com/2023/09/france-suspends-visas-for-students-from-mali-niger-and-burkina-faso/ |

What I can assure you all is that the North is cooking something very tasty. A northerner can not hand over to another northern has now been settled. Tinubu will fail woefully, worse than Buhari. The North will field a candidate again in 2027 and they will battle Tinubu and unseat him just like they did Jonathan. Obi will be forced to form an alliance with a former Northe rn Governor. Tinubu presidency won't go beyond 2027. 2027 will be the bloodiest election ever in Nigeria. If wishes were horses..... Day dreaming! |

Suddenly after almost 100+ years of Lagos enjoying unlimited patronage a Man crawls from no where and says he made Lagos and people are forcing us to handover our future to him just because of that?......some even comparing Lagos to Anambra and other upcoming states...... Tomorrow people will still use Abuja to campaign for position and tell us that they made Abuja what it is.......Just tell Tinubu to return his stolen mandate that's all...... Why should a Nigerian graduate whose degree was taught in English have to write the IELTS to prove he can speak English? UK Visas are given to Chinese students whose English is nowhere near the proficiency of Nigerian graduates. What is the use of being in the Commonwealth if our English is not considered good enough for the United Kingdom? Then it means the wealth is not common. https://twitter.com/renoomokri/status/1658175939249856515?t=ckRa28INuTxoPPgXKRf1Ww&s=09 |

Politics › Court Orders Nigerian-inspector-general-police-arrest-remand-efcc-chairman-bawa- by solex75(op): 8:14pm On Feb 06, 2023 |
Justice R.O. Ayoola of the Kogi State High Court has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to arrest and remand the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, in prison over alleged disobedience to court order. Justice Ayoola gave the order on Monday directing the IGP to remand Bawa in Kuje prison for the next 14 days until he purged himself of the contempt. The judge granted the application for committal to prison of the EFCC boss for disobeying a court ruling delivered on November 30, 2022, wherein Bawa was directed to produce the applicant in the case, Ali Bello. Punch reports that Ali Bello had dragged Bawa to court for arresting and detaining him illegally, with the court ruling in his favour, only for the EFCC to arraign him for alleged money laundering three days after the ruling. The EFCC’s applications for setting aside and stay of execution of the ruling were refused for want of merit. According to the report, the Court had, in Form 49, Order IX, Rule 13, marked, “HCL/697M/2022” and titled, “Notice to Show Cause Why Order of Committal Should not be Made,” asked the EFCC Chairman to appear before it on January 18, 2022 to explain why he should not be jailed for flouting the order given on December 12, 2022 in a case filed by Ali Bello against the EFCC and Bawa, as the 1st and 2nd respondents, respectively. In its decision, the court ordered that the EFCC and Bawa be served the motion of notice together with Form 49 by substituted means. The court had declared the arrest and detention of the applicant in the face of a subsisting court order made by a court of competent jurisdiction and without a warrant of arrest “or being informed of the offence for which he was arrested” as unlawful, unconstitutional, and in contravention of the personal liberty and dignity of human person guaranteed under Chapter IV of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended). Also, the court had ordered the respondents to tender an apology to the applicant in a national newspaper and awarded N10million compensation for him but the respondents disobeyed the court order. https://saharareporters.com/2023/02/06/court-orders-nigerian-inspector-general-police-arrest-remand-efcc-chairman-bawa-prison |
