Topman7: We keep telling you guys that Tinubu is a serious President.
World leaders know ALL the measures he has taken, and they KNOW it will take Nigeria to the next level.
So they ALL want to be in the mix when the economy starts to fly.
That is why they are all trooping to Abuja now.
The President of Germany does not wake up and enter an aeroplane to fly to countries ruled by unserious people.
Also, Nigeria is projected to become the 3rd most populous country on Earth after India and China by 2050, making her the world's 3rd largest consumer market.
So every country and company worth its salt today, is looking to invest in Nigeria going forward.
This country is a magnet for global investment, and it will only get more intense in the years ahead. Can u please stop these nonsense!! White men are exploiters, they don't go where there is nothing to gain. They are not here to help you |

Edygrin: Street protests are supposed to be for issues of national interest that are being ignored by the authorities. Well said Debo.
These cashivists know that the only time they get to make money is by protesting, so any small thing they call for protest, they have bastardized protests in Nigeria.
Dele's case is in court, he should provide evidence of the things he accused Afe Babalola of doing, at least to prove to Nigerians that he's reliable. He should be careful what he says, he might fall into same trap! When NLC threatened DSS isn't it personal ? Anybody can be a victim of judicia manipulation, he shouldn't be too quick to dichotomized natl or personal |

No way an area the size or an entire country and an entire army of thousands collapses in 6 days.
Syria has already been bought and paid for. Yes, that's the trade off with Russia ! Russia concedes some wars and territories to end incursion into Ukraine and some others we do not know! Trump strategic intervention was planned long before he assumed office, entirely against the democrats policies. Now a new world order and balance is in force! |

Am not getting something! If Nigeria is the first country having financial crime division, we would av concluded this is the modus operandi
Why are u breaking into homes of financial suspect in the first place ! Financial crime does not need armed response or show of force, you are going after the assets not the perpetrators!
This is the result of arming them, u need soft skills to detect, trace and prove a financial crime is been committed not these gragra |

3 mouths 1. The masquerade is tradition and culture and no Nigerian is barred by law to practice his culture anywhere 2. If there is dispute among the citizens on permission, they will approach the courts not police issuing orders. This is the civility of the matter 3. During the exercise if there is breach of ieace, police would arrest the perpetrators and charge them to court. I hope this sinks in |

But read the article again, the police played a video where the masquerade threatened to come to Lagos and cause violence..
Make una dey read, don't jsut comment You are infusing your own bias into the report and the report itself didn't brand the masquerade as violent! The group boasting of coming to cause mayhem is what is the concern but u can't arrest people untill a crime is committed! I will tell you again, eyo, oro are violent Yoruba cultures and their adherents causes destruction without police stopping the culture! Different strokes for different folks ? Culture and traditions like every other human activities can be abused it is not for police to STOP any but control any excesses |

DenreleDave: It is the police work Oga..... The masquerade is said to be a violent one and they have threatened to cause havoc..
So whose work is it to contain such? Ńa court abi
Rest I don't know where you get your own information and news from ? Masquerade has always been part of the African culture and it is not meant for violence and intimidation! If there is any case of such, the law enforcement are to take action, the prevalent masquerades in the SW have their own taboos and rites, we have not term it violent as at when they perform. Hence I see no reason for prejudice when others wants to display their own tradition and u refer to it as violent. We need to tolerate one another as a country practicing democracy. Ibos can display their cultural appropriation anywhere anytime likewise Yoruba without fear or prejudice. Before you begin to cast tribal aspersions I am a full blooded Ijebu man but first a Nigerian |

Afrojuju2017: Culture can not operate in any part of the country where it's actions are not sanctioned by the indigenous people there.
You can't do masquerade on the streets of Kano and Lagos can't become so indifferent to all comers that it's people suffer disrespect, they have their own indigenous masquerades and rites which this masquerade may cause an unsettling of the spirits in that domain.
Did the individuals who wanted to bring the masquerade ask the permission of the king within that domain before even attempting to bring it, I think traditional respect requires this much at least.
Even in SW consequential masquerades don't just come out without reason, for instance in Lagos the Eyo masquerade play is only performed on very rare occasions such as the death or crowning ot a new king or very high chief. Nobody has that right to restrict the freedom of others to practice their religion and culture. It is the finder mental right and the Nigerian constitution guarantees it! |
Culture › Re: Police Stop Ajiofa Nnewi Masquerade From Coming To Lagos by Solseal007: 8:01pm On Dec 05, 2024 |
DenreleDave: Tradition and culture are not laws.....
They are civil affair that the police can take up...
Though I don't support the opposition of such display of the masquerade if it brings no harm Civil affairs are meant for the court, police are to enforce the law made by the courts in this case there is no law restricting display of culture and traditions in any parts of the country! It is just muscle and total misuse of office fir police to tell citizens where or not culture is allowed |
Culture › Re: Police Stop Ajiofa Nnewi Masquerade From Coming To Lagos by Solseal007: 9:58pm On Dec 04, 2024 |
I think the operators and agencies of the laws in Lagos are getting things wrong now! Making it obvious that a certain tribe and culture cannot operate in a part of the country is unconstitutional, denial of rights and divisive !
How on earth is police supposed to interfere in this ? There are institutions that deals with tradition and culture, police are meants to uphold the law not to dictate what is law |

The reward for diligent work in academics can never be sun up in great cash prizes.
Otherwise the awardee will not utilize the education ! One may argue that the prize ought to be substantial but we must be careful not to set precedence that academic excellence Is rewarded instantly with financial gift!
We can say whoever wants to gift must gift to encourage others not to add disdain to it.
NO ! Your educational success is the prize, there is no incentive for educational excellence other than the rewards and fulfillment one gets from practical application of it. |

purples25: So sad... The teacher should have known to turn the tip of her cane to the floor. Safety measures. Just like turning a knife to the ground every time you carry it. Most especially with kids around.
Kids are very impulsive and swift in their movement. Every adult should be careful to keep sharp or harmful objects of any sort out of their way. It was carelessness. You are probably exposed! Safety is not taught in public anymore! While starting my career in corporate world I learnt workplace, home and public safety! With a bad medical system and should learn safety |
