boygeorge97: Okay, abeg no vex again,if Pcl in defence of their comments on sending messages in batches decides to invite more people I don't think anyone here can block the messages,if on the contrary they didn't send again.........then no wahala, people will continue to live happily ever, because life doesn't centre on one place..........finally,please allow people to sort themselves out the way they want......if a fellow feels happy just by mere hearing that they will send messages to more candidates please don't block the happiness even when you think/know that is not possible again........with this....I think we should change topic.....just for the good of this thread. to the topic was changed since and u...the same u brought it along.u don't attack sbd and not expect d person to attack back...u picked on sth he said but never bothered to go tru and knw where he is coming from...eruditor didn't insult anybody except for ppl dat took it personal wit him...he also is entitled to his opinion or views just like everybody else...if u want to attack him, first start from where it all started and u will see he didn't throw d first punch...u shld ve advocated for peace and not picking offence for wat he replied his opponent ...u instead bought d case and now...u sound so defeated...LESSON...do not start wat u cannot finish...PEACE... |

Eruditor: http://www.use-in-a-sentence.com/english-words/academic-words-english/former.htm
http://forum.thefreedictionary.com/postst29484_She-is---was-a-former-teacher-.aspx
You put a quote on the supposed sentence but ended up not quoting it verbatim. In any case, this is the sentence: "In fact, the current DMD Bernard Otti, was a former GED of that directorate"
I know your puny brain will overheat trying to make something of the links I provided above so I will try to help (as onerous a task as can be). The phrase 'was a former' (as it pertains to humans) is employed in situations where the person in question is either dead or doing something else after retiring from a previous position as should be indicated in the sentence. So in the sentence above, I used the word 'Current' to indicate his present position and the phrase 'was a former' to indicate what he WAS before taking on the DMD role (his present position).
Feel free to accept or disregard this piece of advice: 1.Get a refund of your tuition from all your English teachers. They bilked you seriously.
2.Grow a pair and be ballsy enough to quote my posts instead of this wanton show of pusillanimity.
3. Don't be a bucolic simpleton. I am not the reason you didn't get a text from PCL. (Oops! I said it)
4. If you are as busy and employed as you claim, leave those of us that are not, to visit NL as often as possible.
Side note: I have learnt to take statements like "I am employed, I don't need this job" with a pinch of salt because most people who aver such, are usually insecure and delusional so they try to use their mouths to make up for what life hasn't given to them.
Personally, I wager you are underemployed but if it helps you sleep at night, then you are the MD of SPDC. Lol...@eruditor...dat was mean...he got it coming anyway...he asked for it...pls wats d full meaning of spdc...got me wracking my brain.... |

Eruditor: I agree, but for NNPC to bring Nepotism into the fray, they don't need to tell PCL to stop sending messages. They can simply continue with the process and infuse names into the final list as they have always done in the past. Since you work for one of such JVs surely you should know that wat if it is nnpc nko dat will orchestrate d kind nepotism... |

mystikal: Just a quick question, in this perceived interviews, what influences the location you are posted to in the eventual case of you securing a job. Like in the case where you hint the interviewers which NNPC subsidiary you want to work, does it affect which part of the country you end up eventually.
Which cities, (and i mean in the whole nigeria) are NNPC likely to employ and send GTs and (maybe the OTs too) U ve partly ansd d question...nnpc subsidiaries re not in all d states...so invariably any subsidiary U choose implies d state...for eg phrc is in ph and no where else and if U choose phrc, get ready to relocate to ph...feel me? |

dechidon: Am reasoning something about this NNPC.Election is around the corner, if the interview will only hold in Abuja that means it will take up to a month to finish it.Who knows whether they want to delay it till after election. In that case since most of the Ogas in NNPC is by appointment and if Goodluck did not win the election and Buhari wins that means he will appoint his own people and in dat case NNPC may start the recruitment afresh cos the system will change. But if Good luck wins then d recruitment process will continue. What do u think guys Goodluck or Buhari, my destiny is under God's divine supervision...if God wills it then so shall it be...so nobody has any say in my life, destiny, appointment...whatever. |

As a result, I took my mind off the NNPC recruitment process. But to my surprise (a day to d test), a friend called to inform me Dat he saw my invitation letter in one of d courier services. I went for the letter and saw my old phone number( which has been discarded) on it. I have done all I could to retrieve it but all to no avail. Was told it has been recycled. I know this may sound like stories upon stories. But I really wish to know d outcome of my test. Any advice/suggestion please? Good day folks...congrats to me and all dat ve gotten d sms and congrats in advance to those still in the pipeline..
This is not yet d end but d beginning of the end...got dis from naija hotjobs and tot I shld share and not be selfish...
firstly, NNPC recruitment in based on quota system. Almost equal number of applicants will be taken from all the states and FCT. This implies that you are competing against people from your state. And this will in turn go down to LGA by LGA.So if you have a family member or a cousin in the race it means u are virtually fighting for one slot. Under this system situations arises where a Candidate from State A with 50% score in the interview will be employed while a candidate from State B with 80% score might not be employed. So those of you from educationally developed states should brace up for the challenge.I am sure you know those states What to equip yourself with: When NNPC was established and under what decree NNPC's Core Businesses NNPC Subsidiaries and their operational functions The Refineries and their various Refining capacities Which of the NNPC subsidiaries u'll like to work with and why? Why do you want to work with the NNPC. Why do you want to work in the Oil industry Why do you want to leave your former place of work(if you are already working) Where do you hope to be in 10years time? Understand your discipline and how you can apply it in the oil industry Know the name of the current and immediate past GMD Expect that you’ll be asked atleast one basic question about your discipline Know where the head quarters of each of the Subsidiaries are located say Benin, Warri, Lagos etc. Research the operations of the Subsidiaries so you’ll know which one you can fit in.(I am currently working with the subsidiary I mentioned during my interview so take your time to research, though it does not totally follow) Look smart and composed. It’s usually a friendly interview and note that your line of discussion will mostly go in line with your responses so be sure of what to say. But please don’t be too confident else you’ll sound arrogant. I’m speaking from experience. The above where questions asked me and some of my colleagues who I am working with now. So expect most of the questions to come from them. Know that NNPC will not take everybody. Best of God. I hope to meet you as colleagues soon.
So. Pls read and share and most importantly, prepare well... Cngrats to us once more... |

jogojogo: I just pray it goes the way you have expressed. Your response sounds encouraging. A friend of mine vehemently claimed he couldn't scale through the interview stage in the last exercise only because he is year past the required age at the time of interview. the required age...wat culd dat be..so dat kam bidokwa na oge...as in let me start on time...feel me? |

scoffield245: I still postulate. To write an exam and have a thread for it only to come dia and be asking wats de next stage and wen interview and offering prayers on the thread won't help anyone. Even if u pray in the pinnacle of the tabernacle. It won't put food on ur table or money in ur pocket. Rather hard work does.and hard work is achieved by reading. And learning wen u fail so u will do better next time.if everybody passed like everyone is claiming here then wud dey employ all 50000.many will fail while many passes.thats the essence of doing correction which no other forum can do for u rather than the thread of fellows. Google can sometimes but even sometime it fails to clarify and only others' choices convinces u. It's very funny seeing many refusing to offer solutions and hiding behind superior knowledge and work and positing that they are big boys and girls while those of us commenting are small boys.to me u are notin but a dead brain ,redundant and defunct without prospects of intellectual growth cos u have chosen to get stagnated by virtue of hiding behind nonsense higher level tins. I only said dat the exams were relatively cheap and many will pass and many decided to crucify me wit missiles.now many others have repeated the same tin but like the vultures that only hover above a corpse but restrains from the living u avoid dem becos u finally noticed how wrong u were in thinking am an easy pik. I'll have u kno I only wrote the nnpc exam as a means to further test my ability not cos I want the job.many bankers and people in private firms left their job to write it since it is greener pastures. For me I already have a federal govt equivalent position which I achieved not by fed character but was selected based on a very selective process that involved one of the worst gmat exam history in Nigeria in which I proved my mettle and was selected by merit despite that it is a fed govt ministry prone to the usual syndromes of federal character, quota principles, spoil system and godfatherism. In essence wat I'm saying here is that hard work pays and u achieve it sometimes faster by mutual sharing of info and ideas concerning exams and questions not prayers.dont turn the thread to a sentimental ground for failure miracle changes.rathers identify ur weaknesses and correct them.sometimes we have beliefs about answers that are wrong. We write exam and fail but tink we passed and wen we are not called for interview we start screaming corruption, while the problem lies with ur approach and beliefs about questions. So help urself by positively impacting on urself by improving on ur courage to learn ur weaknesses .a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step Be wise Scoffield u re good...more so u can be better should u desist from dissing ppl and making rude comments...u just finished attacking ur attackers and resorted to others(dose dat didn't want to comment)...I personally kept mute not cos am hiding whatever knowledge therein but cos i enjoyed every bit of d charade going on here...no offense, i saw d whole thing as a game of diction and really am impressed wit d play on words btw u and one prof...so pls and pls retract ur claws cos we dat decided to keep quiet did whole time are off d hook...kabisa! |
