CareerStop Being An Ostrich: by SomiNJ(op): 3:04am On Jun 09, 2020
STOP BEING AN OSTRICH

Stop Pretending you're trying enough when you know deep down you're still not doing enough

Last weekend I worked pretty hard, almost a 16 hour-work day

I've been studying how to build sustainable business systems that work, with a proven mentor

and the guy is really pushing me real hard

It's not fun but I'm beginning to realize one thing about really successful people;

1. THEY HAVE MENTAL STRENGTH;

Meaning they are willing to stretch their brains and their minds to the very hard things common people shy away from

That's why they get the uncommon and mind-blowing results that people can only dream of when they have malaria

2. THEY DON'T PLAY THE OSTRICH

The Ostrich is the biggest bird in the world

And it's a bird that cannot fly

Lemme educate you a bit about wildlife and animal behaviors

Have you ever heard that saying 'no brother in the jungle'

What it means is that in the jungle, it's war.

you hunt other animals to feed

and you must protect yourself from the animals that want to hunt you

The Ostrich eats small animals like rats, rabbits and insects to feed

And the animal that hunts the ostrich most is lions and cheetah.

Adaptation is a very important characteristic of Wild animals

Wildlife studies teach us that animals protect themselves from predators using any of these 2 instincts for defense

FIGHT OR FLIGHT

-- Fight; Animals Fight smaller predators,

they open an attack immediately they see the enemy

-- Flight; Animals run away from bigger or more powerful predators

SO WHY DO I SAY STOP BEING AN OSTRICH?

When an Ostrich sees a predator, instead of running

It dips its head into the sand

And feels that because the head is hidden,

it believes that the predator can't see it

That's like putting in the wrong effort and expecting a good result.

That's how so many people are today, especially young entrepreneurs

They deceive themselves a lot

They live theirs lives depending on hope

They know the problem they have,

but they shy away from them,

or just do something little just to console themselves that they have done something

and then they say I have tried

For an example

A Student who's not doing well in school

She goes to the library and class for long hours

Everyone thinks she is really putting in the work

Instead of reading,

She spends most of the hours on the gram and chatting

The truth is that she knows she is not doing the do

But...

When Her results come out bad,

She tells everyone,

I tried

I spent hours in the library

But see...

DON'T BE AN OSTRICH IN YOUR BUSINESS

Don't pretend you're doing your best, when you know yourself you haven't made any strong effort at all

This is June, half of the year is going already

Do you have a sales/financial goal at all?

If Yes, can you say you have gone half of your plan

Have you really done the work in your business?

Have you identified the problem that's making your business not work the way it should?

Have you done your best truly to achieve your goals or are you just depending on hope as a strategy for survival?

DON'T PLAY THE OSTRICH

Don't pretend that you're trying, when deep down, you know you're not taking the right actions at all

Face your problems and solve them.

That's how Stars do.

Business is not for cry-cry babies,

It's for strong people

AND WHAT'S THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN BUSINESS RIGHT NOW?

WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF IT?

WHY IS YOUR BUSINESS STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW?

- It's not really because you don't know how to bake well, No!

- It's not because you don't have all the right machinery, No!

- It's not because your shop/office is not well furnished enough!

- It's not because you don't have enough IG followers, somehow No!

- It's not even your village people.

THE REAL TRUTH WHY YOUR BUSINESS IS STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW IS BECAUSE

YOU'RE NOT HAVING ENOUGH SALES AND ORDERS

YOUR MARKET NOR DEY SELL BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SELL

-- When you make enough money from sales, you can buy any machine or tool you want, hire any staff you can and get any system you want

When you're honest enough with yourself to identify the real cause of your problem,

solving it becomes more easier and straight-forward

If you know your problem in business is sales

Get a solution

E get why

Because if you don't solve it, you will remain in the same place where you are for long

And that's not what you really want for your life now.

HERE'S WHAT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO

Just the way you spent time and money learning how to bake and learn your craft,

You MUST invest time and money in learning how to sell your market too

Get courses on sales from proven mentors,

Learn and practice everyday, I mean every blessed day.

You're in business

You nor come here to play okoso

Be consistent

put in the work with all seriousness

Do what needs to be done and improve on your skills

And you will get results

BUT HERE'S WHAT OSTRICHES DO

THEY DISPLAY THE HIGHEST FORM OF MADNESS

- Doing same things that they've ever done and expect to have different results

- They prefer not to do anything about their problem and keep hoping that somehow business will pick [I laugh in Spanish]

- They are not ready to invest their money in solving their problems

They aren't ready to spend anything on training, courses and mentorship,

They are the ones who can't spend as liitle as 10k for a course, yet they want to have make sales of 7 figures monthly

Always looking for free things [they are not serious at all]

Shay if people ask for your cake for free, you go make am ni

- They are not ready to put in their time or effort to Learning and practicing the Hard work -- which is selling and marketing

Instead they keep doing other easy-easy things to pass time

and they keep telling everyone 'I have tried'

When the truth is that they have done nothing serious at all.

Funny, when people come to me with the 'I have tried story' I ask them straight-up

Can you tell me exactly what you have done

Most times thay don't get to say anything reasonable at all that they have done.

IF YOU REALLY WANT BE SUCCESSFUL YOU HAVE TO TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH AND STOP PLAYING THE OSTRICH

One cool thing about life is that;

We know the truth about ourselves better than anyone else

Do the right things and stop spending your precious time and money on things that don't matter or move the money needle

-- So if you're really serious about solving your sales problem this next half of the year 2020

--- If you can promise me that you will give at least 2 hours every day to work with what I will give you

-----I have a proven solution for you

EducationJust For School Owners: How Your School Can Manage The Covid 19 Crisis by SomiNJ(op):
"HOW CAN MY SCHOOL SURVIVE THIS CRISIS?"

Trust me, this has been the most asked question by school proprietors and administrators this period

So, I did some research and studied the history of global economic crisis and I found out;

History will always repeat itself, again and again over the years.

Crisis has always rocked the business world

Sometimes the crisis was financial...

Sometimes it was personal…

And sometimes, like it is in today's world, it was global.

The truth is that the tragic challenges the world is facing now aren't the first. And they won't be the last.

So, what can you do during these times to protect your school?

How do you survive today in 2020?

Here are 5 strategies you should put in place right away to put your school at an advantage during and after the COVID-19 Break:

1. Improve Communication with your Staff and Parents during this period

2. Consider e-Learning Options (Not just Zoom, there's a simple and very cheap way to make your school run online)

3. Create More Engaging Content and Keep your Social Media Handles Active. (You don't need to stress your brain, you can use guide templates)

4. Cut-Back on your Spending as Much as Possible. You might have to lay off some staff too

5. Prepare for the Predicted Uncertainties

EducationWorld Bank Assisted Ph.d Programme In Ace-cefor Uniport by SomiNJ(op): 10:13pm On Mar 09, 2020
Bally my friend shocked me this year. He just bagged his Ph.D

Still looks like dream to me

In 2017, We just finished our M.Sc and we had the ambition to further

So was doing the analysis

Most Ph.D programmes in Nigeria would take you about 5 -7 years to complete

The schedule could be interrupted with so much irregularities: strikes, unsolicited breaks, etc.

So for me to waste my time it was a no! no!

I made up my mind to jet out of the country for my PhD

So one day Bally saw a Newspaper publication advertising the World Bank Assisted Ph.D Programmes in ACE-CEFOR UniPort

He told me about it but I was skeptical

He applied in 2017, Started lectures in 2018

And in February, 2020 Bally is now a Doctor
And the biggest part of it is that it was fully funded ie 100% scholarship with the best learning facilities and research materials all provided

I'm really happy for him, but full of regrets too for not taking action and doubting too much.

This World Bank Ph.D Schorlarship is real

If you get it, it's easier and almost like you travelling abroad for your Ph.D

(1) ACE-CEFOR UniPort has an ultra-modern Learning Facility with Unlimited Internet Access and Research Materials (Well Equipped e-Library)
(2) Scholarship (Programme is fully funded by the World Bank)
(3) Graduate in record time: 24 months

If you have an Engineering, Environmental and Physical Science Background, you would want to see the World Bank's Assisted Ph.D programme in the World Bank Africa Centre for Excellence in Oilfield Chemistry, University of Port Harcourt.

BusinessHow To Achieve Your Set Goals In 2019, Even In This Difficult Terrain by SomiNJ(op): 11:15am On Mar 13, 2019
ASIDE PASSION, DRIVE IS IMPORTANT IF YOU MUST ACHIEVE ANYTHING BIG

2019 is gradually sliding out of it’s first quarter, Before you’d know it we are in the ember months and the year wraps up again.

How market?

How about the goals you set for the year, are you meeting them?

How about your New year's resolutions, are you keeping them?

How about your ideas and plans. Are you them?

Please keep the answer to yourself

Everyone wana be great, rich and famous.

But only a few reach their set mark.

And this is not

Because they have no idea of what to do, No!

..

Not because they don't have the right knowledge, No!

Not because they are not smart or brilliant enough, No!

Not because they are not gifted or talented. No!

ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS FOR FAILURE IS LACK OF PASSION & DRIVE.

To achieve your goals you must pass through a path called "process"

There is always a clear-cut way to getting things done.

Now this path is not straight and narrow as the "heavenly way"

nada...

It is a rough way full of rubbles and stubbles.

Distractions, oppositions and Loss of focus could easily set in

and then...

boom!

you are off the track.

What then keeps you moving irrespective of every opposition.

DREAM, PASSION & DRIVE

Passion: You must have an underlying love for what you do

And the simple truth is that to prosper, you must either;

1. Do what you love

or

2. Love what you do

Love is the principal thing...This is what builds passion.

********************************************************************

After Passion, the very important thing you need is drive.

It is drive that makes you PUSH!

When you're feeling weak, but a force in you still pushes you to get the sh*t done.
That's called drive.

When you are insulted or turned down in the process and you feel like backing down, a strong voice still speaks; "man you can do this, go on!”
That’s called drive.

I was talking with a business pal I respect so much and I asked him,

Man how do you build so much drive in your hustle, with all the distractions and competition around you?

He laughed and asked: “If you were told that there is $1million locked up in a store and they only way to get it is to trek from Lagos Mainland to Island will you do it”?

NB: Mainland to Island is more than 14km
And with an average walking speed of 4km/hour, it will take over 3hrs 30mins of trekking

Me: Off course yes

My friend: Don’t you mind the stress

Me: What stress? It’s worth it jor

Friend: Don’t you think your friends will laugh at you

Me: Who cares? I know what I’m gonna get afterall.

HINT: Use this to activate your drive.

Make sure you’re doing something productive and well rewarding in the end.

Then pursue it hard, harder, go all out for it.

Here’s a Facebook group for serious business minded youngsters; “Young CEO Business Academy: Learn, Do, Profit”
https://www./1998974066984726/

Do join and get invite your friends too

Follow my Post Tomorow, I'm going to show you how to meet your Financial Targets for the year using the "Broom-Sticks" Formula.
This will formula is what I've been using to beat down heavy financial target without stress. It works

CareerHow To Earn Up To 100k Side Income From Videography by SomiNJ(op): 3:45pm On Feb 13, 2019
THE HIDDEN FORMULA YOU NEED TO EARN UP TO 50K MONTHLY SIDE INCOME THROUGH VIDEO PRODUCTION

Dear Reader, if you have been thinking about what business to start either as a student or fresh graduate.

.

.

If You have been looking for the next opportunity, spending your time and resources on learning a new digital skill;
.

.

Videography is very lucrative:

..

.

1. It is a digital skill: Meaning you could render the services anywhere.

2. You need very little capital to start up (will show you how to do so)

3. There are so many occasions and events running which needs to be covered;
weddings, birthdays, etc Hold every Saturday.

.

4. A lot of business and organizations need video documentaries

.

5. The rate of online video production has increased, Many people prefer videos to text or audio

.

6. Online courses are now videos:

.

7. More Video adverts and jingles are needed for firms

.

8. Social media videos

--

DO THE MATH: If you are able to get a 30k video coverage job every Saturday, you'll make 120k every month.

.

BUT THE BIG PROBLEM
From my experience, Most trainers who teach videography and photography are very, very myopic and selfish (sorry to say this).

.

They only teach you the skills but they never show you the business part of it:

-

-

Which is how to convert the skill into money.

-

-

I know that is where you are stuck:

.

.

You have got the skills,
.

.

you know how to handle the camera, take nice shots, edit them well.

.

.

YES

.

.

But you’re still broke because you haven’t understood how to sell your skill and create a business out of it.

.

.

KEY POINTS TO NOTE WHEN SELLING VIDEOGRAPHY SKILLS:

1. TRUST: People don’t trust that you can deliver on their project, so they find it hard to part their money with you.
So to get their trust, you must be willing to do a near-free service for them.

.

2. APPROACH: There are some keywords clients want to hear each time you approach them, with these keywords; you will be able to grab their attention and finally get them to close on the deal. Instead of just telling your clients that you want to do a video documentary for them, you can look out for some special facilities they have and tell them, I want to produce a good video documentary which will sell your company and showcase your XYZ facilities to the world.

.

3. PORTFOLIO: In video marketing, prospective clients want to see samples or catalogues of jobs you have done for people before. (In fact most times this is what will give you the job) Have a collection of jobs you have done handy. Upload them on YouTube or carry them up in your phone or hard drive.
Also upload them on your facebook page or create a portfolio website

.

.

4. BREAKING DOWN PRICE RESISTANCE: Have you ever been told by the client, your price is too much? If yes, what this means is that he/she doesn’t value the product.
There are some extra stuff you could add to your video services to make it more pricey and get your clients to pay you anything you want.
For an example instead of just pure wedding video, you could add a 1 minute instagram video thriller;here you take very important moments of the wedding and compress them into a 1-minute video. Your client will value it

.

.

5. GETTING CORPORATE JOBS: This is where the money is, one government job can pay you 10x what private clients will give you for the same project.
Throw your marketing nets to companies, institutions, churches, etc. They'll pay better. Learn how to use insiders to get what you want.

.

.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN UNLOCKING THE HIDDEN FORMULA YOU NEED TO EARN UP TO 50K MONTHLY SIDE-INCOME THROUGH VIDEO PRODUCTION.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Do you want to:

1. Learn the business of video production and how to start up with little or no capital (Even if you don’t have your personal camera and video gears)

2. Discover the various types of videos and how they are made.

3. Learn how to produce videos people love and sell them at your price. (Stock video making)

4. How to easily get corporate and high paying video production deals. (We will show you how to knock the right doors)

5. How to set up a video portfolio page to showcase your works.

6. How to draw up video coverage budget for a corporate event

7. How to write winning video documentary proposals.

8. How to use Facebook, Youtube and Instagram to promote your videos

BusinessHow To Make At Least 100k Monthly Through Videos by SomiNJ(op): 2:26pm On Feb 13, 2019
THE HIDDEN FORMULA YOU NEED TO EARN UP TO 100K MONTHLY INCOME THROUGH VIDEO PRODUCTION

Dear Reader, if you have been thinking about what business to start either as student or fresh graduate.
You have been looking for the next opportunity, spending your time and resources on learning a new digital skill
Videography is very lucrative:

1. It is a digital skill: Meaning you could render the services anywhere.
2. You need very little capital to start up (will show you how to do so)
3. There are so many occasions and events running which needs to be covered;
weddings, birthdays, etc Hold every Saturday.
4. A lot of business and organizations need video documentaries
5. The rate of online video production has increased, Many people prefer videos to text or audio
6. Online courses are now videos
7. Video adverts and jingles are needed
8. Social media videos
DO THE MATH: If you are able to get a 30k deal every Saturday, you'll make 120k every month.

THE BIG PROBLEM
Most trainers are very incompetent and very myopic and selfish (sorry to say this). They only teach you the skills but they never show you the business part of it:

Which is how to convert the skill into money.

I know that is where you are stuck:

You have got the skills,
you know how to handle the camera, take nice shots, edit them well

Yes,

But you’re still broke because you haven’t learnt how to sell your skill and create a business out of it.

And it’s only when you’re able to sell your skill that you will be able to make money.

KEY POINTS TO NOTE WHEN SELLING YOUR SKILLS

1. TRUST: People don’t trust that you can deliver on their project, so they find it hard to part their money with you
2. APPROACH: There are some keywords clients want to hear each time you approach them, with these key words; you will be able to grab their attention and finally get them to close on the deal.
3. PORTFOLIO: In video marketing, prospective clients want to see samples or catalogues of jobs you have done for people before. (In fact most times this is what will give you the job)
4. BREAKING DOWN PRICE RESISTANCE: Have you ever been told by the client, your price is too much? If yes, what this means is that he/she doesn’t value the product.
There are some extra stuff you could add to your video services to make it more pricey and get your clients to pay you anything you want.
5. GETTING CORPORATE JOBS: This is where the money is, one government job can pay you 10x what private clients will give you for same project.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN UNLOCKING THE HIDDEN FORMULA YOU NEED TO EARN UP TO 100K MONTHLY INCOME THROUGH VIDEO PRODUCTION?
1. Learn the business of video production and how to start up with little or no capital (Even if you don’t have your personal website)
2. Discover the various types of videos and how they are made
3. Learn how to produce videos people love and sell them at your price
4. How to get corporate and high paying video production deals
5. How to setup a portfolio website to showcase your works.
6. How to draw up video coverage budget for corporate event

CareerJust One ICT Certification Could Jack Up Your Pay By Over 10x by SomiNJ(op): 4:37pm On Dec 16, 2018
Our 21st century economy runs on digital networks. Organizations of all kinds depend on a workforce educated to design, build and operate these networks. The Internet of Everything is projected to connect 50 billion things to the internet by 2020.

Analysts expect the information and communications technology (ICT) sector to generate an increasing number of high-skill, in-demand jobs across a broad spectrum of industries. By 2015, it is expected that 90% of U.S. jobs will require technology skills and almost all jobs will be ICT-enabled.

But there aren’t enough people with the expertise to fill these positions. Lots of students and entry level I.T guys are ready to take up the challenge. All they need is the opportunity, and you can provide that by adding Cisco Networking Academy courses to your profile.

According to Industry Canada, ICT was responsible for 9% of Canada’s GDP growth between 2002 and 2012 (Growing the ICT Industry in Canada: A Knowledge Synthesis, 2010).

To encourage employment for Networking Academy students, Cisco encourages its partners and customers to work with nearby academy schools to identify talent, contribute to student development, and strengthen their regional workforce.

Cisco is the acknowledged world leader in networking technology. Its comprehensive Networking Academy education program brings research and outcome based courses to schools, colleges, universities, and nonprofits worldwide.

Courses range from computer basics to advanced networking and prepare students for globally-recognized certifications. Cisco develops the content and provides 24/7 teaching and learning resources. Schools and colleges provide instructors, classroom space, and lab facilities.

Networking Academy is Cisco’s largest corporate social responsibility effort in education. Since 1997, more than 4 million students have taken academy courses, covering a wide spectrum of age, background, and career goals.

Embrace innovative teaching and learning tools. Networking Academy curricula integrate leading edge education theory and tools with the latest global networking technology. A flexible ecosystem trains and supports local instructors without limiting their options, and comprehensive interactive student assessments provide immediate learning feedback.

Ongoing validation ensures an effective, up-to-date assessment strategy.

CareerA Hot Cake In A Quiet Sector Of The Petroleum Industry You Can Take Advantage Of by SomiNJ(op): 7:25pm On Aug 20, 2018
Nigeria has been in the business of oil exploration for over 50 years
99.8% of our revenue comes from crude sales. As a result, the Petroleum industry in Nigeria is one of the biggest and most lucrative in the country.

Going by this trend, a lot of professionals seek relevance in the industry by getting educational & professional Education & Certification in key Petroleum areas of the Upstream and Downstream Sector.

While a lot of attention is paid to the upstream sector, we often forget that apart from drilling wells for crude, Petroleum can be utilized for energy.

Having a sea of scholars and professionals in the production sector of the petroleum industry, Many don't realize that there's a gold mine in the petroleum energy sector.

This is a real hot cake; and there's a huge demand for Petroleum and Energy Economics professionals in the industry.

How equipped are you to latch on this opportunity?

I stumbled on a blog and saw this information for the Emerald Energy Institute, Univerity of Port Harcourt.
