Christianity Etc › Re: Lagos Fire Service Brings Christ Embassy Fire Under Control (Pics) by SoNature(m):
Lagos State Fire Service is trying. I remember travelling from Ajah to Port Harcourt on 23rd May. One truck carrying empty CNG cylinders ran into another truck carrying PMS on a bridge in Epe. It was almost a head-on collision.

Motorists were too scared to pass through the bridge because the PMS was steadily leaking. We were stuck for 4 hours until all the uniformed agencies in Nigeria arrived at the scene.

Fire service, military, police, road safety and lastma worked as one team to clear the road. They used their tow truck to pull out the CNG truck after neutralising the leaking PMS flowing on the bridge. Thank God there was no explosion. The motorists gave them a round of applause for doing a great job! 👌👌

Celebrities › Re: “I Denied Davido Access To My Body, Not Our Daughter Imade” – Sophia Momodu by SoNature(op):
It's a shame that Davido wants to keep sleeping with Sophia while married to Chioma. He feels entitled to Sophia's body because he's taking care of their daughter, Imade.

It's quite unfortunate that Chioma doesn't have a problem marrying a community d!ck like Davido all thanks to fame and fortune.
Celebrities › “I Denied Davido Access To My Body, Not Our Daughter Imade” – Sophia Momodu by SoNature(op): 7:02am On Jun 23, 2024
Davido‘s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, has responded to the lawsuit the singer initiated against her at the Lagos State High Court over the custody of their daughter, Imade.

PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Davido, through his lawyers, asked the court to grant him joint custody of 9-year-old Imade, born in May 2015.

Davido’s lawyers, Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah, and others, filed the lawsuit on 17 April 2024.

Responding to Davido’s lawsuit through her legal representative, Punuka attorneys & solicitors and Bimpe Ajegbomogun & Co, Ms Momodu, a niece of famous journalist Dele Momodu, refuted the allegations the singer levelled against her.

Among several allegations, Davido claimed Ms Sophia, 37, rejected a N200 million apartment in a gated community with a swimming pool and 24-hour power and water supply in Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos, which he had purchased for the proper care of Imade.

The ‘Unavailable’ crooner claimed that Imade’s mother demanded he pay the nanny she hired $800 monthly, totalling $19,600 per year, as a lump sum.

He alleged that despite his efforts to ensure a better life for their daughter, Ms Momodu continued to treat him with unwarranted cruelty and caused him significant pain.

However, reacting to Davido’s lawsuit, Ms Momodu stated that she only denied being intimate with the music star.

She revealed this in a statement on Saturday by her legal representatives, Punuka attorneys & Solicitors and Bimpe Ajegbomogun & Co., published in the Pulse.

It partly read: “David Adeleke and Sophia Momodu were in a relationship from 2014-2017 and 2020-2022. During this time, David provided financial support for their daughter, covering school fees, rent, and other living expenses, including the cars mentioned in the article. Sophia ended the relationship with David in July 2022. Since then, David has repeatedly threatened to make Sophia’s life miserable if she does not make herself available to him sexually.

“Sophia has never denied David access to their daughter, only access to her body and intimacy, which he has taken issue with. David is in a publicly known relationship, and Sophia wishes him well. She seeks to move forward in her life free from harassment and verbal abuse.”

The 37-year-old entrepreneur alleged that Davido abandoned Imade for over two years.

Allegations
Ms Momodu further alleged that the 31-year-old singer has chosen not to see their daughter or honour special events.

“David has not seen our daughter since July 2022 by his own choice. Sophia has never denied him the opportunity to see his daughter. He has not reached out on special occasions, such as her birthday or Christmas, for the past two years, which has left his daughter distressed and questioning why her father has cut contact with her. Despite this, David posts images of her on social media to falsely portray himself as a supportive and active father.”

Additionally, the statement alleged that Sophia has solely shouldered expenses, including rent, living and travel costs, healthcare, and all other expenses related to their daughter in the last two years.

“Since July 2022, David has not fulfilled his financial responsibilities towards their daughter, leaving her school fees unpaid. Their daughter’s school has contacted him multiple times regarding the 2021/2022 school term fees and January 2023, with no response. Legal counsel was sought in February 2023, resulting in David’s father, Mr Adedeji Adeleke, eventually paying the outstanding fees. Despite this neglect, Sophia firmly maintains that the most crucial support David can provide their daughter is his presence and emotional support,’’ the statement read.

The entrepreneur said she initiated legal efforts to establish a formal co-parenting arrangement with Davido two years ago. Still, according to her, Davido and his legal team consistently refused to cooperate towards a mutually agreeable resolution.

Instead, she alleged they sought to discredit and isolate Sophia and their daughter using David’s social influence and network.

Burna Boy emerges Africa’s No 1 earning artiste in US from tours, concerts
The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has faulted reports that musician, Burna Boy, covered all medical bills for patients during a recent visit to the hospital.

The hospital clarified that the music icon only settled the bills of selected patients at the facility, contrary to claims of covering all outstanding bills.

Mrs Elabha Meni, the institution’s spokesperson, clarified a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patient’s bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare cost,” Meni clarified.

Meni lauded the musician’s charitable act in helping those in need in society.

This is where I respect WAEC. With just WAEC scratch card, you can verify the authenticity of WAEC certificates.

The Ministry of Education needs to team up with the NUC (and the commission that regulates polytechnics) to build a database of ALL certificates that both universities and polytechnics issued to students. Users wil buy scratch cards to verify certificates. This is another means of making money for the ministry of education.

To answer OP's question, the best bet is to physically visit the issuing institution because sending an email means they will reply you after two decades.

Politics › Re: It Doesn't Favour The West That Africa Is Poor by SoNature(m): 10:51am On Jun 22, 2024
The West has helped Africa by far more than Russia and China ever can imagine.

1. They give aids to African countries. Sadly, our greedy brothers and sisters steal everything with reckless abandon. For instance, USAID, DFID, etc. have spent billions of dollars in Africa. They even help us fund our elections.

2. NGOs in the US and elsewhere the west finance research studies carried out in Africa. The West gives grants and scholarships to lots of Africans to come and study for free in their countries. They'll later return to Africa and help develop the continent.

3. The best companies to work in this life are American companies. They pay well and have regards for people. Most times, they bring that work culture to Africa. Compare that to a Chinese firm and you understand what I am talking about.

4. Well-to-do Americans (businessmen and celebrities) visit Africa to help underprivileged people, help fight diseases, kick off infrastructural projects, adopt suffering children and take them back to their country to give them good life.

5. American and British governments support Nigerian security agencies through training, military hardware, etc.

6. The West cancels the debt of African countries when they realise that we are too broke to pay back. China will take over your national assets.

7. The West allows Africans to become citizens in their countries and have rights to vote and be voted for. In Nigeria, we celebrate Nigerians who won elections in America, UK and Canada. Ping me when this starts happening in China and Russia.

I can go on and on. Na wicked Russia and China wey just start yesterday una wan dey use compare with America?

The truth is that the West has even been fair to us more than our politicians have to our own people. When they see how our leaders treat us, they are forced to conclude that all their efforts aren't worth it.

The day the West loses a firm grip of our world to those two, you will see the real beast in them. Nobody should ever pray for that. They are just good for challenging America and that's where their usefulness ends.

I don't think this will make much impact. There's already a punishment for bypassing one's metre. I think every state should have at least 3 - 10 discos. These discos will closely monitor the areas they supply power to and how much they make in return.

Nigerians are stealing so much power. That's why discos aren't making any profits and are owing banks almost a trillion naira despite FG support, while Gencos are owing gas companies billions of dollars.
Politics › Energy Theft: FG Plans Electricity Offences Tribunal by SoNature(op): 10:25am On Jun 21, 2024
The Federal Government said yesterday it was working on establishing an electricity offences tribunal to combat power theft in the country.

Speaking at a briefing in Abuja, the Managing Director, Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, NEMSA, Aliyu Tahir, who disclosed this, said: “We are working on the establishment of an electricity offences tribunal with an in-built appeal system for faster dispensation of electricity-related offences. It is to vest NEMSA in-house counsel with powers to prosecute electricity offences.”

Providing further explanation about the tribunal, Tahir said the initiative would adequately check electricity theft when implemented, adding that the National Assembly had been informed.

“We are looking at the establishment of this electricity tribunal to be able to enforce our mandates more. When you look at the enforcement, with respect to sanctioning of violators in the Act, it is a very long process.

“So to fast-track the prosecution of offenders, the establishment of this tribunal solely for the power sector will go a long way in ensuring that we fast-track the process, carry out enforcements and sanction violators,” he said.

The NEMSA boss said based on the powers conferred on the agency in the Electricity Act, NEMSA had been working hard to establish a tribunal that would speedily try electricity-related offences.

He noted that with the tribunal, issues of electricity theft would be addressed speedily and violators prosecuted as quickly as possible.

While noting that the agency was interfacing with the National Assembly on this, Tahir said further: “The establishment of this tribunal has been brought to the knowledge of the legislature and we’ve made submissions to them. Our hope is that they will amend the Electricity Act to include a provision for this.”

He also said his agency was perfecting the process for the establishment of an electricity offences tribunal with an inbuilt appeal system to speedily tackle power-related offences.

He said a total of 2,655,488 meters in the power sector had been tested and calibrated, as most of the equipment had been deployed for use by consumers across the country.

Tahir stated that in line with the mandate of the agency, NEMSA has tested and calibrated over 2.6 million meters.

Eestablished in 2015, was still testing and calibrating more meters to ensure their functionality, durability and safety when in use

“A total of 21,681 electricity installation projects have been inspected and tested, out of which 13,154 have been certified. Also, a total of 16,624 electricity networks have been monitored by NEMSA.

“About 4,921 factories, hazardous installations and public places have been inspected, tested and certified fit, while 2,655,488 electricity meters have been tested and calibrated, as 487 incidences were investigated by the agency,” the NEMSA boss added.

Tahir, who said the figures were based on data compiled by NEMSA as of the first quarter of 2024, added that the Electricity Act 2023 had strengthened the enforcement powers and responsibilities of the agency.
