A new guy barbed my hair at my usual barbing saloon. The guy was like their oga, not my usual barber sha, so I felt like there was no problem. Omo, my guy chuck clipper inside my hair wey dey coil like wetin no good dey complain say clipper no sharp. Na so him come dey collect other guys clipper dey complain say which kind hair be dis, like say I never barb for my life. Me I been dey try reason am say Oga you no get comb to comb this hair so. All this clipper wey you dey chuck inside my hair dey drag am by the roots. Imagine where grown up man like me dey get misty eyes inside barbing saloon. I come dey regret say I comot outside that day, come dey reason new barbing saloon wey I go start they visit. I even tell myself say if this guy finish barb me I dey go meet my regular barber for that shop collect him number. If that guy no dey shop anytime I wan barb, I no come again. 😑

Good day boss. Abeg I get question regarding Chinese phone with global ROM, Xiaomi 11E pro specifically. That kind phone fit work for Naija. Some people say that the network will have issues and that some Google play apps will not work. Would you advise I go for it or just find Global version of another brand

But it was an old phone sha. Those old Vivo phones that come with 2gb ram and are everywhere in our local phone markets. I mean, with the better tech and increased 4gb bands, this shouldn't be an issue right?

If there's global ROM flashed on it you shouldn't have any problem with Google related apps and 4G network shouldn't be a problem, you'll most likely not get 5G though

Yes, that's the one note 11e pro. I once had issues with that global ROM with a nice Vivo phone a few years back. So that's my fear now. I don't want to put on my data only to see that I can only access 2g. So, if it's okay, then I can should go for it. I mean, for the price that I am going to get it, it's a steal.

I don't really care much for the 5g network. MTN 4g network, which is the most widespread, is yet to be stable. I doubt 5g network will be my problem for a long time.

Let me explain in simple terms: prepaid dollar card is funded either by depositing cash into it over the counter or by having someone transfer cash($) into it for you. Moreover, let's assume you buy $100 from aboki and deposit it into your card and you pay for goods worth $80 with the card, your bank will deduct the exact $80 from you PDC account (remember, there's nothing like NAIRA exchange rate here, but DOLLAR only), and you're left with $20 balance. That is why naira debit card is far far better for international purchases.

But this one that GT bank has ended their prepaid card bonus early, any need for this their card again. They are even showing Black Friday promo on their platform, when the promo isn't available again.

PREPAID DOLLAR CARD IS DIFFERENT FROM DOMICILIARY ACCOUNT CARD.
Let me explain as much as I can.
Domiciliary account is an account you open in a bank for foreign currencies and you can get an ATM card for it. When you get an ATM card for it, the funds in your Dom account can be accessed through the card when u want to make payments via card.
Now to PREPAID DOLLAR CARD, this is a stand alone card that is not linked to any bank account. For you to use it, You need to pay in physical Dollars over the counter at the bank. You can also ask someone who has a Dollar prepaid card to sell you funds, he can transfer from his card to yours ; I use UBA Prepaid Dollar card and this is the method i use to fund my card 99% of the times(see the screenshot attached).

Now to make the distinction very clear, lets assume you have a UBA dollar prepaid card and you also have a UBA dom account,
1. YOU CANNOT USE YOUR DOLLAR PREPAID CARD TO ACCESSS FUNDS IN YOUR DOM ACCOUNT!!!
2. YOU CANNOT TRANSFER MONEY FROM YOUR DOMICILARY ACCOUNT TO YOUR DOLLAR PREPAID CARD!!!
The 2 are completely different and are not linked in any way.

I have UBA, Zenith bank and Access domiciliary accounts, ATM cards linked to the Dom accounts and dollar Prepaid cards for each bank.
Of all, UBA is the easiest to get.
To open a dorm account or get a dollar prepaid card with UBA all u need are:
1. Means of identification: NIN, Voters card, Drivers Lincense or Intl Passport
2. Utility bill
3. A passport photograph
That is all!!!
And you must make a deposit of atleast $5 as initial deposit (just buy from a Mallam close to you).
They dont ask for referees or any of those long process.
However, I have one issue with their Dom account, YOU CANNOT TRANSFER FROM YOUR DOM ACCOUNT TO ANOTHER DOM ACCOUNT.
Access allows me to transfer from my Dom account to another Access Dom account ( I av not tried transfering to another bank's Dom account before).

I hope this ends the confusion, Domicilary account ATM is not the same as a PREPAID DOLLAR CARD! They can both be used for international purchases but they are not the same.

This should answer you. For me, I prefer the prepaid dollar account, since it houses my AliExpress discount

Praise God, I finally opened the UBA domiciliary savings account today. I checked another UBA branch, and they old required my passport to open the account. However, the customer care staff told me that I can't fund the account from the counter, that I can only receive funds with it. She also told me that when I make a total transaction of up to $2000, the account will be frozen, and I will need to upgrade the account to a full domiciliary account. For that I will need an ID, NEPA bill, 2 current account references from UBA, and nothing else.

The GT bank prepaid dollar card took me 2 days. The first day to open an account and th second day to request for the card, which was handed over in an hour.

The requirements here was only to have an account with them. Yes, all deposits have to be in dollars, and you can make transactions of even up to $1000

Guess your location is not Lagos, because those customer agents in lagos-based gtbank branches are very greedy, wanting to take advantage of gullible customers. Av been to two branches for their dollar card. One agent told me to bring $10 and the other said it's $20 for the same dollar card.

Yes, I am not in Lagos. Sorry about the experience Sha. I guess I am just lucky here, and I hope the luck holds out as I head to other UBA branches.

If it's the UBA domiciliary savings account, it can only receive funds in dollars. I want to get dollars from chippercash and send it to the savings account. Withdraw the funds and pay it over the counter at GT bank into my prepaid dollar card. It's all for this promo. I can't miss it.

I have been following this thread for a while, so I feel like I should leave my experience here as well. I just got my GTB prepaid dollar card last week, and I didn't have an account with them prior to this. To get the card, they said that I had to have an account with them, even if it's tier 1. So, I opened a tier 1 account using my passport, and came back the next day for the prepaid dollar card. I filled a simple form for this and also provided another passport. The dollar card was received after 30 minutes of waiting. I didn't pay any cash to open any of the accounts.

My next plan is to get a UBA domiciliary savings account. This should also be free sha, but when I checked the bank last week, customer care told me that I need 1 dollar, my passport, and BVN. But, when I was directed to a different hall to open the account, the young guy there said that I need 50 dollars for it. Well, the thing shocked me sha, but I will be checking other UBA branches to see if that's the same everywhere. I tried opening the account online from the UBA website but their website is crap.
