You will be amazed to know that are published papers out there whose reports may seem some outlandish but they are in fact true.

One of such cases happens to be a paper I recently published in a high impact journal. The reviewer said that it was impossible for me to get such fantastic outcomes in my facility. I replied by inviting him over to see things for himself.

This same paper was accepted for publication.

I kove reading scientific journals on societal issues like this to stay ahead. Could there be a way you can share the link of your published work you mentioned ?

Please, I need your suggestions and advice on this issue.

I stay at Mushin, in Lagos(Nigeria). My work generally takes me to Ikeja GRA and Ikortun.

Transportation isn't funny right now so I got a lady's motorcycle (CY -90) to use regularly to Ikeja GRA and Ikortun.

Going to Ikeja GRA, I will be passing through Oshodi to PWD, then into GRA.

Going to Ikortun, I will pass through Isolo-Jakande gate to Ikortun.

I have my rider's card and helmet.

1. Using these two routes, will I be allowed to use my motorcycle without having issue with traffic authority or police?
2. Aside the rider's card and my helmet, do I need other things?

If you use Lady's motorcycle within Lagos for personal movement, your advice is highly welcome.

In Maize cultivation, weed control is it everything. Poor management of the weeds during the initial 8 weeks of the crop growth can consume the yield up to 40 percent of the crop. In order to have a weed free farm, i am using a mixture of Lagon and Sunphosate. Lagon to seal weeds seed and prevent growth of weed seeds in weeks as Glyphosate in mixture of herbicides eradicate the weeds which have resisted tractorizing.
I personally oversee the process of my workers application of herbicides to prevent cases of misapplication that result into the emergence of weeds along the way. Under my practice on herbicides application i always put the same measure of liquid mixture and tell them to keep on spraying until the liquid has been exhausted. This would not leave them with such excuses of simply crossing the farms and not carrying the actual job.

Back to the theme. After examining the land, the next thing to do is use GPS to carry out measurements. I always use GPS to make sure the land worked upon or to be worked upin is a little bigger than my target area. This is because if the right plant spacing is applied, there is a quantity of yield to expect, but relies heavily on the quantity of plants and by extension the land area.

First Step :



The first step in setting up a farm is to inspect the land and ensure that the land is free of rocks, tree stumps that makes them unsuitable for tractor to operate on them. Make sure this check is done to avoid paying for a land that wont be useful.



You need to make sure of the suitability of your land. Once this is confirmed, you may go ahead and make payment. Like you can confirm through the images, the land is tractorable and with just few hours of work, the land will.be completely ploughed and ready for cultivation..



Like i traditionally do, i do my planting within 72 hours of ploughing. This is a fixed rule i obey all the time. For this project, i am.doing the planting within 24 hours of planting because of time.

Traditionally maize farmers target the month of May to cultivate maize, but what happens when for some reasons farmers miss the May planting window ?

This is what we are about to find out through my project.

We did not meet the May planting window and infact it's tilting towards the end of June and the opportunity to farm Maize opened. So, i'm embarking on this journey with a client.

Together, we will be farming 4 acres area of maize. My target is to attain atleast 10 Tons of maize grains, so follow this journey if you desire to know what it feels like to cultivate maize towards the end of June.

@this is about 2 years ago when I harvested maize on my 1 acre land but looks like my own maize are small. They didn’t come out big. I plant maize and cassava then. Right now there is cassava on the land and it will harvest this month. I mother do the work. I was serving (Nysc). Now I’m done and if she harvest the cassava this month can I still plant maize on the same land. Will I get a good result or I should the soil to recover. I’m in Ogun state. This is the picture for the two years ago maize.

It is either you plant maize by September or you plant cassava now. You can not plant maize now

I find this strange. Focus on shorter duration seeds to be extra sure. Please keep me updated on the weather issue. Because if he rain starts June, does this mean there wont be August break ? I would really like to know

I am shocked to hear this. A while Delta that is a coastal state. Anyways, if the weather is different, it doesnt mean you guys wont experience rainfall. Perhaps your pen rains would begin to be consistent and heavy from June ending, but it will certainly come.


Now concerning yield, if a farmer uses specialized hybrid and not local seeds, yield may drop by up to 40% if the lack of rain is moderate, even with this figure, a farmer will be profitable.

It's 25 days today and the farms are weed free. I hired labour with affordable rates to weed out the little weeds that the herbicides didnt take out. So far, it's an enjoyable journey

So far, less than 2% weeds
