Forward it to some other email and try opening it, you'll likely see what I mean. I initially thought it was a PDF file but when it eventually showed me its true color, I was not happy about the bureaucratic delay grin

Thanks very much for this your findings, I'm so much appreciative of it.

Yea, I remember.
Can you wait till Tuesday? or Wednesday?
I opened the doc but it didn't freely open. Had to allow access and some long protocol before I could get hold of the info therein.

I don't think that's good at all. The process was cumbersome considering the number of other things calling for my attention at the time I wanted to briefly look through it.

I'll advice you work on removing that blockade to start with. HRs are pretty busy guys who lack patience to reply the many questions asked before finally getting to see the content. Their impatience may cost you terribly. Apologies to all HR persons in the house cheesy
I'm just dumbfounded right now, I do not have an idea what could be the cause, because what I have in there is not much. The content is so few, a page and half.

Please I can wait, I do not want you to do it in a rush, just do it at your pace. It has cost me a lot of opportunity, I can sense it.

One's philosophy determines one's attitude towards life. To some, their sole purpose of existence is to acquire as much material wealth as possible; To others, it is to traverse the four winds of the universe to acquire knowledge of life while to others, it is to live moderately taking life one at a step and being contented with whatever comes one's way.
I have come to understand that I can't trade knowledge for money neither can I trade intrinsic qualities I possess for a thousands of naira which I know may still come my way.
Our existence in the society is not solely based on what we acquire for ourselves. Sometimes, we need to consider other factors. Education enlightens one's mind to see that life is too ephemeral to engage in mundane things while at the same time, admonishes one to utilize and maximize all individual's potentials in him.
Being a factory worker abroad doesn't mean you have traded knowledge for money, in fact any option you take, knowledge won't be traded. Why because as a factory worker you can still study on your own, in fact making money and getting knowledge at the same time. There are some many persons who didn't go to the university but they are well read than lawyers, example is les brown. He is an american, he never went to university but he is widely read, he was once a member representing his constituency the state house.

What you are trading now in this contest is MONEY for NAME. But you can still make both if you look at it critically. If you work as a factory worker for 5years, you move into business, in 10years you will be well respected compared to a lawyer who is just managing.

Money answereth all things.

Make money now, retire at the age of 50, then read the rest of your life if you like book that much. Obasanjo did that.

You don't get it. . . if he was making that $1200 and living in Nigeria then no problem. . . but in a high standard society like Dubai, its almost nothing. . . after settling bills upon bills and taxes upon taxes, before he'll find money to tale care of himself, he probably won't be living half as well as he would be if he were a qualified Nigerian lawyer
You think dubai is UK? The economy of UAE is relatively stable compared to most countries. Government even subsidise food and water, even electricity. Most companies provide accommodation for its workers. It all depends on the type of life you want to go there and live. If you live life with modesty, there is no how you can't save 200k in naira, and that's pretty cool.

I'm not saying school is everything.

But then don't compare the American education system to Nigeria's. Bill Gates dropped out of school. And so did Mark Zuckerberg. And they didn't drop out of just any school, they drop out of Harvard. Only people with great potential get into Havard. Bill and Mark are not just any men, they are very intelligent men in their field. And when they dropped out, they didn't drop out to become drivers or factory workers. They dropped out to pursue what they had interest in.

Have you ever heard such a thing as a Chief Driving Officer? Or a Chief Factory Worker?

Lol don't play yourself. You don't have to work in a big company to make it. You only have to find something that grows you intellectually and excel at it.
It seems you are not a Nigerian, or maybe you don't live in this country. PhD holders have at a time put in application for a driver position in dangote group of company, and now you are very optimistic that going to law school is best preferred to factory worker who will be earning 400k for a start?

Potentially, all lawyers have same career path but not same destiny. There are hundreds of lawyers in Nigeria closing deals worth billions of naira.
You are very correct, but I'm talking on general terms, I gave an example earlier, 20 persons like you in two groups A and B equally divided. A go abroad, while B stay home. 'A' will all be doing ok in 5years but 'B' will not all be doing ok maybe 4 out of 10.

I know someone who did taxi job in America, but today he is a billionaire, he own chains of petrol stations and other businesses and even employ lawyers.

If we're being honest with ourselves, living abroad is not as easy as people assume. You know how many homeless people America has? And it's not as if these homeless people can't get up on their feet, dust themselves up, and secure menial jobs.

Even studying over there is very expensive. You hear of people owing student loans amounting to tens of thousands of dollars, loans that they struggle for years to pay up.

It's hard for people over there too. And I just feel it's a mistake to think the suffering will stop once you leave the country. Truth is it doubles.

Also, I'm not sure I'll advice anyone to choose becoming a driver in America over a banker in Nigeria - or a factory worker in Dubai over a Lawyer in Nigeria. I think it's better to choose a defined career path with prospects and grow in that area. That's what takes you places.
I know so many layers in nigeria who have worked for 30years and can't even boast of 200k monthly, and know u have a job of 400k monthly as a young man, you want to trade that for name(lawyer) In fact I can count how many lawyers how receive 400k genuinely, they are few of them. He won't be a factory worker forever. In america, most persons don't go to college, they decide to work after high school so as to raise funds and do their own businesses. But here in nigeria we think school is everything. The richest people today never got employed with their certificate.

Craven most nigerians who live aboard don't do skilled jobs, but unskilled. The government of those countries won't employ them with their nigerian certificate, except they study further over there and get a higher qualification. Unskilled jobs even pay better in dubai, a driver in dubai receives higher than a banker. Now, everything depends on priorities, if he knows what he wants, its up to him to go there and get it. Quite ok things are expensive there, but everything all boils down to management. He can cut cost of expenses he makes over there and save more. I'm looking at the future my self.

Let us break it down this way for example, we have 20 of him in two equal sets 10/10, group1 go abroad, while group2 stay in nigeria and go to law school.

I can assure you, group1 will be all settled in 5years, but the fate of group2 will be very dicey. I'm sure 6 out of 10 will still be on the streets hustling.

The Nigerian problem is not just universities being a state of rickety, but the whole country at large. Nigeria is a mess. To repair nigeria, it will take divine intervention. The foundation upon which nigeria was built is not just ok. It gives the leaders large edge to trample on the people. The masses don't have a say. Everyone has learnt to live and bear with the situation of things. It started long time ago, and it has grown diamond wings. It will only take the grace of God for nigeria to move forward.
