yes bro. in Northern Nigeria more especially North East web development is not something popular at all. so many people believe that is not a skill to learn.
to them an okada rider is better than web developer. people keep mocking me all the time no one appreciate my efforts they just see me as someone useless which makes me so demotivated that's why a really pray to get a job even a low paying job because at least they will understand me.
life is not easy for me at all.
Don't let your spirit be dampered young lad.

You're on the right track and you do seem to be quite talented from what I've perused on your work.

However, you do seem to lack adequate branding of your self or talent. Don't forget, you're a product in this labour market and like all products, you get patronized due to adequate branding.

Firstly, I would suggest you remove the picture of yourself on your portfolio - it looks unprofessional - or better yet, you can instead of the current picture you uploaded, upload a professional-looking picture or one taken in a photo studio with a nice dress.

Secondly, proof-read your words, sentences and diction. There's lot of grammatical and typographical errors in your portfolio website alone, and its quite off-putting.

Thirdly, apply for remote jobs in popular platforms I believe you already know of. Don't limit your search to Nigeria or US alone.. But expand your search to several countries.
Some would say "apply for jobs like a mad man"; don't entirely dismiss the saying.

And lastly, exude confidence, in your words or choice of words. It atttacts.

Wish you luck in your job hunt.

I do appreciate the input guys.

But damn, it's gone beyond curiosity. It's quite important I really know the usual work or daily tasks developers are charged with in their previous or current workplace.

It'll help in my mental and overall interview prep.

Say na that FUTA drop out wey shock us for Esco obong DSA Facebook group one time like that

Till now I still dey calculate how much the guy dey earn with the current dollar exchange rate.

I'm not worried about the talks of tech being saturated. It can never be. But if by peradventure it becomes saturated, DSA will be a filter. My goal for the next 1½ years is not to be a good programmer. I jus want to understand and master DSA like the palm of my hands

After that I should be able to see for myself whether tech is saturated like they say or not. And a big shout to you @tensazangetsu20.

You're Nairaland number 1 DSA advocate and evangelist. Without your constant emphasis on DSA, many of us wouldn't have realized the importance of DSA. Or we may realize it later, and will wish we did much earlier

I believe the title question is self-explanatory but I'll go into more details. As an employed web developer (visiting this Nairaland), what are your common tasks in your workplace?

Do you build websites for your company or for your company's clients?

What are you usually tasked or charged to do by your company? I'm just curious, plus the insight would be quite valuable.
