Emperormartin: Even if she's contesting miss Lagos the indigenes won't still allow her to progress because of her name...
Check what happened to gbadebo Chinedu vivor.
The truth is that in Africa we haven't grown pass tribalism.
I now laugh at Africans talking down on Europeans on racism. We haven't really removed the log in our eyes.
Tribalism is too deep in Africa. It's a pity
And Joe Igbokwe worked as top public office holder in Lagos, Igbo woman was Ondo state First lady, River state is Oyo state first lady , what will never happen in SE in the next millennia. As for GRV we omoluobis don't tolerate anyone who disrespect our lineage (go and check his anti-yoruba post on X) bcs we believe that such is a b*stard and b*started has no place in odudua's palace
DSS have lost it even the NSCDC is more organized and intelligent than this political stooges. The last time we had an intelligence and standard state security was during the time of IBB, Gen. Sani Abacha, OBJ and GEJ. The SSS DSS under the APC led government is no better than the vigilantes. How can a Polish citizen (a NATO and Ukraine ally) wave the Russian flags . If e sure for the DSS let them arrest Atiku, and other prominent northerners (those are the major opposition party who might fund the protests)
SadiqBabaSani: He is sponsored by Tinubu to destabilise PDP when he campaign vigorously for the PDP ticket against Atiku.
Infact Seyi will likely win the ticket then it will be Yoruba on the two major tickets
Seyi can't win anything, Ambode, Sanwo and Adeleke stood better chance than Seyi. Seyi is ruling Oyo state like an emperor and that is a big red flag with what people have experienced in APC government at the national level
These ladies are the best so far in the Olympics considering their pedigree with the less support and motivation they got from the sport ministry. But coach Rena is a true heroine because she was the one who motivated and led the team above all odds. This babes fell out gallantly there future is bright
MadamRamota: Even the four out of every one hundred in the south east is debatable. I can bet with my life that almost all the children in the east are attending school. South West is an embarrassment to the south.
Those out of school children in the South West are the South yeasterners that are selling gala inside traffic and those underage girls in some brothels
"If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones" .. how have they managed the little they have e.g. a state like Oyo state should not suffer scarcity of cassava and expensive garri with it aerable land and lots of agricultural research institute . Nigerian governors are cancers to democracy and their cluelessness is what brings us to the shameful state of food scarcity. The allocation of most states is higher then Togo IGR and Togo can boast of food security and stable electricity in its major urban areas. The LG autonomy is the best thing PBAT has done so far if properly managed by the EFCC and FG
Wetin concern monkey with bread, and having a female boss doesn't make you a SIMP. I have worked with male & female bosses in the tech industry ,and I can tell you that I was able to establish my startup through what I gained from my female bosses.
CriminalTinubu: Only simps or beta males will have their names on a list to serve a woman.
Poor Alpha male don drop quote, are you telling me that any one working with the female president of Tanzania who is more competent that Tinubu is a SIMP . The word SIMP don suffer too much
The truth is that most of us Nigerians are as good as our bad leaders we condemn, and the only different between us and them is we are not at the helm of public affairs. This one too will come up on X condemning the outrageous appointees of the FG and other politicians #EndBadGovernance #EndBadCitizenship
DaddyCoool: Quite reasonable 250K. Some men give more to girlfriend than wife
What are you even saying, it is totally wrong to pay anyone for being in a relationship. Relationship no be employment nah it's meant for both parties to contribute nah
SMH... So this is the only thing the citizens can get from the billions of FG allocations received by this theiving governor . Nigerian useless governors are the major reasons for our economic woes how I wish that the masses can channel their anger towards their governors.
This is aren't a joke , Nigeria should be careful & watchful. Putin and China are doing everything to snatch Africa from the west. What happened in Mali, Niger and Burkinafaso might happen soonest in Nigeria. Putin might be secretly sponsoring a northern junta bcs if Putin can have a country like Nigeria then the west will go down the drain
How I wish PO would keep this momentum when he gets the power, Tinubu was once the common masses darling in 2012 just like PO is today ("subsidy is gone". But the beast in Tinubu manifested immediately he mounted the podium in Eagle square. Most Black African lacks the ability to maintain power
Most of the lower rank security men are only doing eye service, they all want the protest deep down bcs na dem dey suffer pass. Imagine NA private officer earning 65k as salary
Konquest: I like the way you made your fantastic rebuttals there about the role that the iconic Professor Wole Soyinka played in bringing and supporting GEJ into power as a President of Nigeria which is indeed a FACT of history, but I disagree that the speech was "empty." It was NOT. It takes effective listening and reading to pick the key points up without confirmation bias. There were deliberate lootings of private businesses and destruction of public utilities especially in the far Northern states and Edo where a Church warehouse was raided with all the bags of rice stolen by unruly criminals so I can understand why Soyinka spoke about the use of live bullets, but the live bullets come as a last resort if the security agencies get almost overwhelmed like what happened in Kenya when youngsters invaded the Parliament building via the barricades and the police had to open fire on some of them.
Just like many Diasporans who were staying up to listen to the speech, I was getting impatient myself for the first 6 minutes because I expected him to hit the nail on the head, but the Nigerian President indeed touched on some of the major specifics which is the introduction of the cheaper CNG deployments and free or low-cost CNG kits for over 1 million commercial vehicles belonging to NURTW which is ongoing and would lower the cost of transportation of people and foods by over 60 percent. Lagos State too is set to launch 500 CNG and electric mass transit buses to lower the cost of transportation.
Already, I had read online last month that as of May 30, 2024 the mega NNPC CNG refill station in Lagos State had been launched and those whose cars and trucks had already been converted to dual CNG/PMS were already buying cheaper CNG fuel of N200 per standard cubic feet and the male and female drivers who were interviewed were happy at the extra savings made when compared to the more expensive PMS usage. So, the intention will be to use CNG to drive down hyperinflation because it's cheaper than even PMS. Price control mechanisms will have to be put in place to ensure that the market leaders drop the price of food items after all the NURTW vehicles all over Nigeria have been fully converted to CNG.
Since May 2024, up to 12 NNPC CNG refill stations had already been commissioned in Lagos and Abuja so it's clear that the government has been doing a lot to deploy the cheaper CNG and reduce inflation because the high cost of transportation is a major driver of hyperinflation in Nigeria.
The #4 Keypoint BELOW is what would bring down inflation with the cheaper CNG fuel station deployments and conversation of over 1 million commercial vehicles to use CNG.
If Dangote Petrochemical Refinery starts producing PMS in August 2024, any excess PMS or AGO that is produced will be exported to earn more FX for the Central Bank of Nigeria. Back in the late 1970s and early part of the 1980s when the refineries were working optimally with regular TAM every 2 years, Nigeria was exporting refined PMS and AGO before the military guys came in and allowed the refineries to get destroyed under their military dictatorships so as to allow they and their cronies to import PMS and diesel which turned these guys into overnight multimillionaires.
“Our once-declining oil and gas industry is experiencing a resurgence on the back of the reforms I announced in May 2024 to address the gaps in the Petroleum Industry Act. Last month, we increased our oil production to 1.61million barrels per day, and our gas assets are receiving the attention they deserve. Investors are coming back, and we have already seen two Foreign Direct Investments signed of over half a billion dollars since then.”
“Fellow Nigerians, we are a country blessed with both oil and gas resources, but we met a country that had been dependent solely on oil-based petrol, neglecting its gas resources to power the economy. We were also using our hard-earned foreign exchange to pay for, and subsidise its use. To address this, we immediately launched our Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (CNG) to power our transportation economy and bring costs down. This will save over two trillion Naira a month, being used to import PMS and AGO and free up our resources for more investment in healthcare and education.”
“To this end, we will be distributing a million kits of extremely low or no cost to commercial vehicles that transport people and goods and who currently consume 80% of the imported PMS and AGO.”
“We have started the distribution of conversion kits and setting up of conversion centres across the country in conjunction with the private sector. We believe that this CNG initiative will reduce transportation costs by approximately 60 per cent and help to curb inflation.”
With respect to your constructive contribution, the speech failed to communicate and express the obvious to the common Nigerians. The common Nigerians want a short term solution to their grievance and the FG should have expressively state his plan to address the food shortage in the short term, though I understand that Mr. President is trying to be diplomatic enough.
PBAT empty speech added fire to the petrol, PBAT speech was only defensive, apologetic and lack effectiveness. If PBAT had presented short term solution in his speech just like Ruto did nobody will be protesting by now. He could have taken some of this proactive actions. 1 promise to prosecute trigger happy security men 2 immediate compensation and treatment of wounded protesters and security men 3 The FG should give grants to staple food importer with a compulsory regulatory profit margin of at most 3% profit per bag of rice or beans. And the FG should publish the unified price of comondities on all media like it's done in the time of Awolowo 4 Finally NNPCL management should all be suspended immediately, and make sure that Dangote start buying crude in Naira from NNPCL and sell to Nigerians within 400-500 NGN within a few weeks 5 And in the long-run give a quota of 40% crude to IOC or dey leave just like Gaddafi did in Libya
Social media has taken away the creative and constructive reasoning of our youth , Nigeria still has a long way to go because no nation can thrive with this magnificent level of disorientation. How can a presidential speech be leaked, every presidential speech are released to credible media in a few hours b4 the presidential address and in some advanced countries they are sent to citizens email
coach Rena no bad oo , Porta babe are always sweet I can't wait to have one . Meanwhile, this hot coach babe don do better pass PMB + PBAT 9yrs in just a few games
lexy2014: can you show me where Soyinka constructively criticised tinubus address?
can you show me the tribal/political sentiment that you say is beclouding my sense of reasoning?
you failed to answer the question? do you have any idea why I asked the question?
when he was castigating jonathan, why didnt he think of the economic impact of his criticism?
Just tell me that you don't understand the content of this post, please read the post carefully again. Because the post itself highlighted how Tinubu speech was empty and condemned PBAT gov lack of proactive steps to end the hunger protest. Please read again and carefully this time
