Ghana footballer Kingsley Sarfo has been released from prison in Sweden. He was released earlier than expected and has been deported to his home country, Ghana.

The 24-year-old was released early this week on the ground of good conduct following his incarceration over a r-pe accusation which he denies.

He was jailed for two years and eight months in the European country for two child rape counts.

Sarfo had been in prison after he was charged with defilement in Sweden months earlier and all was taken into consideration for his early release.


He was immediately released from custody and deported to Ghana where he is planning to restart his career.

The midfielder, who took Sweden by storm with his speed and great dribbling ability, is the second Ghanaian player to be jailed in the European country following the ordeal of Kwame Bonsu.

Evangelist beaten for stealing phones while preaching in Ibadan
A 49-year-old self-acclaimed Evangelist, Mr Akinjide Durojaiye got more than he bargained for as he was beaten for allegedly stealing two new mobile phones from a shop he preached at in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.



The Evangelist at Dominion Assembly in Ilare-Ijesa area of Osun state, claimed the "spirit" directed him to preach to the people at a phone shop in Femi Johnson Building located at Dugbe area of Ibadan.



He however left the shop with two phones valued at N70,000, hid in a shop within the complex when chased but eventually got busted by an attendant at the shop. The phones were retrieved from him by the mob that manhandled him.



Confessing to the crime, Durojaiye blamed it all on the devil as he disclosed that he stole to raise money to offset the medical bill of his 7-year-old son who jumped down from a 2-storey building.

A transgender woman was handcuffed after a cleaner stopped her from using the ladies' toilet because 'she has a pen!s'.

Gretchen Custodio Diez, 28, was about to enter the restroom in a shopping mall in Manila, the Philippines, when she was told off by Chair Ganal on Tuesday.

Gretchen, who was wearing a jacket and a black dress, filmed the bizarre moment as she argued with the cleaning lady.

Mobile phone footage captures Gretchen being taken to the basement and held inside a room away from other shoppers.

The cleaner can be heard saying: "You still have a pen!s. Remember that."

She was also seen trying to take away Gretchen's phone, appearing to hit her in the head and claiming to file a lawsuit against Gretchen.

Manila Police arrived hours later at around 11:30pm and took Gretchen away in handcuffs.

Gretchen was taken to the QCPD Station 7 in Cubao, then to the anti-cyber crime division because the police were confused about how to handle her case, it is reported.

A man has been arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing his wife at Srinagar, India.

According to the police, the accused, Pradeep Kumar and the victim Manikranti got married in 2015.

Later, they parted their ways due to marital disputes. On Sunday,

Pradeep visited his wife Manikranti's house at Srinagar colony and beheaded her and dumped her head in a canal.

A teen model who went to witness the sun rise on a South African beach died after a powerful wave swept her from a rock and out to sea, an inquest heard.

Sinead Moodliar, 19, a philosophy student at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, was on holiday over the Christmas period last year.

She went to see the sun rise at Umhlanaga Rocks, a beach area near Durban, on Boxing Day when she was involved in a "catastrophic accident", a hearing in Huntingdon was told on Monday.

Cambridgeshire's senior coroner David Heming said: "This is a tragic, catastrophic accident.

"Sinead had gone to a beach area to witness the sunrise.

"While standing on a rocky area, a powerful wave washed her into the sea."

People on the beach reported hearing screams at 5.15am.

Miss Moodliar was dragged from the water by lifeguards and paramedics resuscitated her, but she died in hospital on December 27.

The inquest was attended by her parents Bob and Noeleen Moodliar, of Wilburton near Ely.

Mr Moodliar said he spoke to his daughter while she was in a restaurant on Christmas Day and she "seemed well and bubbly", and she later went to the beach.

He said he took a flight from the UK to South Africa as soon as he heard his daughter was involved in an accident, but she died before he could arrive.

Update: Teenager admits impregnating 10-year-old girl in Benue; Police reveal her uncle was making arrangements to marry her out to a blind man
A teenager on Thursday admitted to have impregnated the 10-year-old girl who delivered a baby girl few days ago in Makurdi in Benue State.



The teenager who was paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, Mukaddas Garba, for alleged rape of the minor. The victim was living with her uncle at the North bank area of Makurdi at the time of the incident before she was dumped at an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Benue.



Garba had put the age of the teenager at 18 but in an interview with newsmen, the suspect said he was 17 and an SS2 dropout.

“I accept responsibility for the pregnancy,” he said.



The teenager explained that sometime last year, around December, he had helped the girl severally after she cried to him that there was no food for her to eat.



He confessed he had sex with her one of the nights she told him that the uncle drove her away and he had to provide a space in his room for her to sleep.



He admitted that he had carnal knowledge of the 10-year-old twice and never knew she was pregnant because nobody ever brought the matter to his knowledge.


He said the girl kept a distance from him and that even when he sighted her in February, this year, she ran away from him so he never knew there were any such development.



The teenager who said he is an orphan but now works in a relative’s farm to earn a living, emphasised that he was shocked when on Monday, a friend came to him at his house in North bank area of Makurdi and stated that the girl just gave birth and mentioned his name as the father of the baby.

“It was that person who persuaded me to follow him to the hospital and see the girl and my baby. I agreed to follow him and on reaching the hospital I was arrested,” he narrated.



Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, alleged that the teenager who hails from Gwer West area of the state raped the 10-year-old, adding that he would soon be charged to court.

Governor Nyesom Wike promises N30m reward for information that?ll lead to arrest of Bobrisky
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State has promised to give N30 million to anyone who gives useful information that will lead to the arrest of those who killed a Director with the Rivers State Government during the Choba crisis as well as the capture of notorious criminal called Bobrisky in Gokana Local Government Area.



Wike made the pledge on Thursday, August 8th when he handed over 40 Patrol Vans fitted with Communication Gadgets to Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), See 4 Eye, Police Anti-Kidnapping, Police Anti-Cultism, Federal Road Safety Corps and Eagle Crime at the Government House Port Harcourt.



He also declared that the state government was fully prepared to tackle insecurity and would do everything required to protect lives and property, declaring that the state government had proscribed all youth groups operating in the state because they had been hijacked by cultists.

“Rivers State Government is fully prepared and will do everything required to protect lives and property. Without the protection of lives and property, there will be no governance and development.

“We are one State that has suffered neglect from the Federal Government in terms of support to fight insecurity. They have refused to pay back funds that we used in constructing Federal projects. But that will not stop us from intervening when the need arises”, he said.

The Governor said that he resolved to increase the support to the security agencies because of the successes recorded by Operation Sting. He regretted that cultists had taken over youth groups across the State, necessitating the state government proscribing all youth Ggroups.

“Anybody operating under a youth body henceforth will be arrested by security agencies. Before you contest for any youth body’s leadership, you must send the names to the DSS and Police for screening. If they are cultists, we will not allow them to operate,” he said.

Wike said that the vehicles and gunboats donated to the security agencies must be deployed to secure Rivers State.
