Thank you everyone for the support. I got my short stay France- Schengen Visa today! Submission at VFS - Monday, March 6th. Notification of passport return - Monday, March 13th Passport delivery by UPS - Tuesday, March 14th. Intended Travel dates: March 18th to 26th. Destination: Paris. Documents Submitted at VFS: 1. Application form. 2. Nigerian Passport. 3. Return ticket purchased via Wakanow. ( Realized from this thread that I would've just made reservation so money won't go to waste, just in case...) 4. Ticket reservation of tour activities. Booked on Viator, but not paid for. 5. Letter of introduction from my Employer , confirming employment and dates of travel and Employment letter. 6. 6 months bank statement each for my Salary account (Naira) and a Dollar account. This was reduced to 3 months for each account at VFS. 7. Allianze travel insurance; purchased via Wakanow .(Already purchased it before I saw this thread.) 8. Hotel accommodation booked via Hotels. com; but not yet paid for. 9. Copies of Work ID, Pension and Co-operative participation - I used them as a proof of strong tie to Nigeria. 10. Cover letter introducing myself, intended activities in Paris and summarizing the documents submitted. (Many many thanks to the contributors on this thread!) 11. Copy of US Visa. PS: I got my US Visa just last month but I'm yet to travel with it. I was told at VFS that I'm a 'Frequent Traveler' so it was written on my documents pouch, even though I'm a first time traveler. So if you have any of the Visas listed on the website, just select 'frequent traveler' for your VFS appointment. Thank you, everyone! 8 Likes 5 Shares |

Thanks a lot for your response. I checked not long ago and I saw that February 23rd is available, but when I tried to reschedule, it says maximum number of limits reached . Anyone knows a way out? |

Hello Guys, Please, I have a couple of questions.. .. 1. Is there anyone who is able to assist in getting an expedited VFS appointment date for France Schengen visa. I was able to get March 6th, but my travel dates are March 18-26, and this does not give the required 15 days required to process the visa. It's a short stay tourist Visa. 2. I just got a US Visa 2 weeks ago and I am yet to use it and I have never traveled out, can I indicate I'm a frequent traveler? 3. Someone suggested that I can apply for Italy Schengen, that they have walk-in submission option. How valid is this? Can I use the Italian Schengen to travel to Paris as a first time traveler? 4. If I don't get an expedited appointment and I decide to go ahead with the March 6th for submission, do you think it's worth the risk (10 working days)? Is there a possibility that the Visa may be issued before March 18th? So sorry for the long post |

abbey621: Sir, this is not true. Evacuation is for willing Americans and so the willing ones have to bear the cost. Only those who for some reasons cannot foot the bills are assisted, which is still paid back over a pre-agreed period of time. |

Thanks so much for the responses.. So, when's the next bid date and what's the current interest rates? I'm currently getting 8.75% on fixed deposit @ Stanbic IBTC; going by the rate at which the Tbill is dropping, do you guys think it's worth switching over? |

Good job guys! I just stumbled upon this thread; just what I've been looking for! Just a quick question plss...... If I go for the 91-day bid, can I get to 'roll-over' my investment after the 91 days if I so desire, just as the case is for fixed deposit? Thanks.. |
