Those guys are just hungry. I ended trip and dropped rider off to another driver, she was magnanimous enough to add 1k to the fare. These guys were talking of 100k fine when we got to their lot. Its me they want to use to buy land.
I tried getting the fine online and saw they could sell it as a 25k offence.
Las las 7k drop. This rain better fall well, surge is needed
Thank God..you will make it back bro.. meanwhile, abeg, which highway were you on? and how were you supposed to exit it? ive never heard of this offense before

I took a ride on uber from ladipo to my workshop (as a rider) and had an interesting chat with the driver, he told me he had a fantastic day, got a request to a point in lekki/ajah area, the street was Flooded, really bad and he could not make it to the location of the rider.

he called rider and told rider to meet at non Flooded portion of the road she (nah young lady o!) Begged that he should employ any means necessary to get her out of the house. He jokingly said Madam do I come and back you she said yes she will pay 3000 for the gesture (about 100 meters) nah so my guy fold trouser, enter flood, reach front gate back the lady to the car, collect the 3k first, start trip it was to airport on surge grin

He deserves an accolade.

Pls chillex no try am make ya waist no break grin

This is to all old Uber and Taxify drivers in the House. I hail all of you o. Trust all is doing well and I hope you all are gauging your progress as you all go about your daily bread. This hustle or hustling shouldn't just be about daily bread tho' that is the purpose of this msg. pls go learn other good skills if you don't have one already. I am certain, non of the drivers that started Uber/Taxify 2years ago cannot afford a plot of land in ibafo as we speak. But a plumber/ electrician/ mechanics that knows his job and hardworking can conveniently do. Not to discourage any one but admonition. There is no future in driving Uber. Uber as a coy is just using u to build their future while you keep sustaining till you are unable to drive anymore. The health hazard is more on driver's side than two other parties. ( Uber and riders). Guys think your life and use your head. A word is enough. Thanks!
Please sir, if you don't have anything reasonable to say..shut your mouth, and stop saying rubbish.... angry

I won vex go house but my partner go Cain me,because I never work anything this week.
I feel like crying
Festac? by 12 in the afternoon? sorry bro, i don't think thats good positioning.. correct me if im wrong but festac is mostly residential..By 12pm most people in festac are already at work..

Except the jobless once, or the ones that are going out
late. But dont wait too long.

I ll suggest you find a commercial place there, maybe where there are banks or where there is a market.. 'Mrs Alabi' could have just finished from the market, and she has load to carry, and there's hot sun, so she decides to book an uber and enjoy AC small. Then you ll be there to pick her.

If you have the mind to blow fuel, i ll suggest you leave festac. Costain isnt really far, from costain head to balogun market. before you reach there you suppose don get request.

If you dont, then its really a bad day.

This is what I think, correct me if im wrong.

Weldone bro.

Uber money is so useless that you practically can't do anything driving with uber. One can't feed nor even fuel the car. You'll just be driving and completing more trips with very little income. I think it's time we start a campaign against uber low fare price. It's either they return the 40% that was slashed from the original fare price, or reduce the commission they change from 25% to 10%. We can't be slaving for uber, and if they do not reconsider this fare pricing, very soon they will lose both drivers and riders. This is cooperate stealing.
Bro i understand, uber fares are low, but people are making up to 100k weekly. I drive on only uber and I meet up my weekly rental, plus make money for myself, so...

God bless you bro...tell them oo...dont worry about screenshots, Its true..They should stop discouraging others and themselves.

hoha4life:
In Lagos, this biz has gone down drastically. Our fortunes went south when uber reduced fares by 45% while leaving their commission unchanged. And too many vehicles on uber and taxify platforms, such that earning per driver has dipped seriously.

I have been driving on both platforms for 2 yrs now and I have done close to 3000 trips on both platforms. The issues are:

Incredibly low fares
Car jacking, snatching especially at night
Fraudulent riders who always refuse to pay
Bad roads leading to frequent repairs
Traffic gridlocks
High cost of spare parts and maintenances
Few or non existent price surges
Death of drivers due to greater insecurity and accidents due to fatigue.
High commission charged. Uber charges 25% while taxify charges 15%

All these and other factors have reduced drivers earning considerably hence any driver that makes 60k-100k weekly is a star and lucky chap. Requests are few and far in between,

Drivers are not meeting up with payments, it's very tough and unpredictable now.

Personal advice is dont get carried away by false info out there. This is the truth and reality. If you must invest, play down your expectations or stay away to avoid avoidable heart aches.
You can make 10-13k weekly. 13k in just 5 days is already 65k. Then you use the weekend to top it all up. Please dont discourage anybody. I meet up with my rental every week steady.

Work smart.

I just registered to uber. Is it worth it to engage one of the uber leasing firms for cars at N35k a week payment considering I have a 8am-5pm job Mon-Fri.
It will be alot of stress meeting up with your 8-5 job. You have to be on the road alot more to meetup 35k a week

I ordered an uber for a friend and the driver came with a highlander, like I said earlier, it's not always about the size of the engine, it's about bin smart.

Talking about brand of cars, I see where people say only xyz cars will stand the test of time, they are right to an extent but not entirely, if you haven't driven other brands then it's wrong to ascertain that other brands won't, afterall I still see some rickety Volvo carrying tomatoes around Mile12. Some cars are problematic but with diligence and good maintenance culture it would serve you well and that's if you drive it yourself but if you ain't driving yourself then stick to xyz brand.

If I decide I wanna drive on uber and should I want to go for a 2.5litre engine then it would be a 2014 Camry or 2014 Honda Accord, yes i have class and I also know there are riders who also deserve such...

Like I said, it's all about working smart.
Yeah, i totally agree with you. its all about working smart. But then we all know that if i was given a highlander for rental, i wont meetup no matter how smart I work. besides, that guy might be doing it for fun. He might not necessarily be doing it for money.

Some might just be bored, and feel like driving around. what better excuse to drive around, and then you still get paid the money you used for fuel.

Seriously mehnn, don't use 2.4l for uber. Use a lesser engine size so you ll make maximum money

Are they not human being like you.

Are you saying there should be different rental rate for village people and graduates.

If you are a graduate, and you find yourself driving Uber, put your paper aside, and focus on surviving, investors don't care if you are a graduate, if driving Uber is what you have to do to survive, do it and stop complaining.

There are plenty of graduates with no work.

I will consider a hard working driver with primary 6 certificate, that will give me my weekly rental, with no stories, than graduate driver, that will give you stories.
Lol, I thought it was only me that was wondering what village driver and graduate driver had to do with any of these. As long as they meet the rental, isn't that like the koko? Wonder what the guy means by that.

Oga stop ranting on driver becoming greedy, wat about partners??don't we have wicked partners with dead cars and still want drivers to deliver 40k wen it shouldn't go more than 30k... u can't be viewing this business from last years perspective..have u ever been on the road for once...the answer is no....back then, u can spend less than 12hrs online with good positioning and still make like 18k and above, but now u will need to spend between 15 to 18hrs before u can make something tangible... Not everyone can work like that... And even if u can, ur car will be the one to suffer for it.....ur car been a tokunbo or grade A Nigerian use doesn't make anything, if its been overused, it will definitely break down someday... The business ain't like before...have u ever wonder why people don't post earnings like before? because everyday ain't Xmas... Ibeg stop tagging drivers as been greedy, drive urself and see...we all have choice, some might do 40k and even above while some can't do more than 35k...that doesn't mean he is greedy or lazy, its all boil down on individual capacity.....
Oga chill abeg. No be fight. I dont think he was ranting. Even if he was therez no need to start fight again biko. He's saying his own based on what he has experienced. Say your own too. and lets put heads together. Lets keep Lagos moving.

guys, your thoughts please,

I have a slight issue with my uber app. I cant go online.

It keeps displaying that message about one of your document pending review, or expired, or rejected. Its referring to my driver's license. It recently expired, but I've renewed it and they've accepted it, because it shows the current expiry date of the license.

yet, i cant go online. My account is active, but i still cant go online.

Has this happened to anyone? what did you do?

Greetings to everyone,

Please I need advise o; right now I have a 2008 corolla, highway mileage of 140,000 km, in a very good shape and maintenance through Toyota up to date. My plan is to ship it to Nigeria from Canada before year end and register the vehicle with ulber for a weekly pay of 25k.

My question is, if this car meets ulber standards and if a driver will be willing to pay 25K weekly?
The car is perfect for uber..Im sure the drivers will be very willing to pay 25k per week. Some are even ready to pay 35k per week..

Good evening house. I must sincerely commend every member of this group most especially, those who have
honestly shared their experiences & opinions here.
Please I'll need your honest advice. I just registered with uber & the car I'll be driving is Camry 08(muzzle) with weekly payment of 40k. Please is this OK? And if not, how much can U advise me to take it that I'll still be making my own money as a driver? Thanks.
Waiting for your prompt & honest advice.
Not good bro. Car is like 2.4l in engine size. You'll be spending a lot on fuel. And you'll still have to pay 40k. You supposed to be giving 30k on a normal day. But, if you wanna try it for sometime, you can. Its gonna be stressful tho'. So prepare your mind. I suggest you look for a 1.4l - 1.8l engine sized ride, so that you ll get more money for yourself. Bottom line is, 40k is too much for that car.
