In a bid to allay the fear of worried Nigerians over the controversies trailing the health of the first lady, President Goodluck Jonathan aired a video of his supposed visit to his wife in Germany on Saturday.

The short video clip was aired on the network news of the government owned Television station, Nigerian Television Authority by 9pm.

As the newscaster read the news, it was accompanied with the video displaying the visibly happy couple and their kids. The president was dressed in his southern attire while his wife was also gorgeous in her
dress and full of smiles.

To further tell a better story of her health status and clear the speculation that she is in a bad shape, the first lady who was in high spirit was heard saying, “Let me take picture with my husband.”

However, unconfirmed report claimed that it could be yet another ploy by the President to shield the truth about the true state of the first lady from Nigerians. Because unlike his past trips when he was always
accompanied by the press, it was confirmed that the video clip that formed the backbone of the television report was actually sent to the station before the news hour.

It was also alleged that the supposed ‘healthy First lady’s’ video might have been recorded during the President’s stopover in Germany when he went for the last United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Meanwhile, presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, sustaining the Aso Rock pretence, said the President actually travelled to Germany on Saturday to see his wife, then in a move to dispel rumors of her negative condition, the short visit was recorded.

He said the video clip aired by NTA was a confirmation that the President’s wife was hale and hearty contrary to what some people wanted Nigerians to believe.

According to the special adviser, “What that video has proved is that the President’s wife is hale and hearty and she is not in bad shape like people will want Nigerians to believe. The video has put paid to
all the lies that people who play politics with almost everything have been spreading. It was clear from that video that the scene was not a hospital scene.”

Although Abati claimed that he can’t disclose the time frame at which the first lady would return to her country home but maintained that the president has been playing mum over her ailing health issue because it could not afford to be “jumping into the fray” with everybody.

Further investigations revealed that aside The President and his kids, the chaplain of Aso Villa Chapel, Ven. Obama Onwuzurumba and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Usman Abubakar, were also with the delegation that visited the First lady in Germany.

It could be recalled that Patience Goodluck Jonathan left the country since early September. Her spokesman, Ayo Osinlu claimed she went to Germany to rest while rumors has it that she is suffering from an unknown ailment.

I was watching Nigeria got Talent on AIT this Sunday evening and during the commercial break I switched my TV to NTA and lo who did I see-our First Lady bin received in the villa! She was looking pale and seems to have shed some weight. Pls can somebody confirm this or I just had an optical illusion.
