orientation camp has been confirmed by nysc secretariat and my ppa local gvt(alimosho). make sure u collect ur letter or make a copy and submit to ur employer.

as a reminder, let me list provisions nd essetial u shud bring (u cn choose to select)
-full nysc kits including crestedd vest nd jungle boots
-id card nd cd/saed card
-bucket,sponge case, dettol, washing nd bathing soap
-towels,night wear, white cardigan if u may experience cold
- flashlight, flagyl nd tetracyclin, tiny padlocks,
-cornflakes,sour garri,sugar,milk, beverage, jik or hypo for ur whites
-food container,cup,bedsheet, balm for sprain, pain relieving tablets

i cnt remember anything else.....pls add if u do

My fellow corpers,help me o. my ppa is a nightmare. first i studied linguistics and communications, i was posted to a private shop (i dnt wnt to say firm) this shop is located in a market and they are into making of customized notebooks. as if tht is not annoying enough, I and another female corper. the owner has a full time job elsewhere so we are required to make the notepads...we are to resume by 9 and close by 5. last week, he made us come to work on public holidays (mon and tues), and on wednesday when i went for my clearance, i was told that i had to go and make dlvry in banana island (time was already past 2), even though i pleaded so mny times that it was already late to go to the island (ppa and my house are both located in iyana ipaja) well,just to be obedient i left for island after i was done with my clearance (2pm), i got back to iyana ipaja past 10, my husband had to come and pick me from the bus stop. as if that is not enough, the following day, i was asked to go and pick a cake and take it to the owner's workplace in ikeja which i simply refused, the other corper was asked to run the errand.... to top it up, we are required to work on saturdays as well which i dont plan on ever going. well, i just received a mail titled 'warning' stating that i am suppose to serve my country in all circumstances and i can not choose orr dictate when i can come to work,what errands i can run, also my being married isnt their business. the most annoying thing is I am older than the monkey. i am so pissed...any advice in the house? (sorry for the plenty errors, na as i dey vex...to angry to correct anything)

i am sorry for not saying hello to manny and ibulem.....we can say our hellos on bbm (not d group chat o) btw i went to where i was posted, they accepted me and want me to come only 3 times a week....to resume 10am nd close by 4pm. it's an event and corporate branding company so it involves indoor and outdoor activities. i'll only spend 50 naira for bike to my ppa...and 50 naira back which is 1200 per month on tfare.... i'm not lucky, i'm blessed.....my hugs to those that arre having ppa issues now.....God's favour will locate u in Jesus name.

i just dey vex for ibulem and hissexcellency, they were the one dat killed dis forum by creating dat bbm group thing, mannylex,prrixy and dotchez con follow suit....dat was how pdp destroyed naija o. i give u guys 24hours to revive dis forum,if not i will pray nd fast on top una head. to faithful nairalanders, lets play a guess game.... all u have to do is tell us where u think thhey will post u to i.e sector and local government.....then we will compare it wit d ppa letter we will get tmrw....the game starts now.....
for moi...i think they'll post me to ministry of education in alausa, ikeja local government.

frm oshodi, walk towards d filling station(where they take mushin bus),u will get ojuelegba bus(150 naira)....wen u get to the last bus stop(under bridge)....walk towards the ending of d bridge (towards stadium bus stop)... take 100 bus to bode thomas, drop at secretariat bus stop...just before the junction with d traffic lights.... walk towards ur right(babs animashaun street)....keep walking till u get to nysc secretariat.

SerPounce: That's bad man. Is it that NYSC just posts corpers randomly without finding out if an organisation needs their services or not. Tales of rejection at PPAs everywhere. Saw a thread here on nairaland about corpers that were posted to a playhouse. These are graduates for Christ's sake! From the post the playhouse even rejected some of them. Wishing you a better PPA bro.

P. S: Since you guys were rejected where they posted you, hope they would accept a request letter if you come with one? Cos I got one from a private organisation. It makes no sense to put us through getting a rejection letter and having to come back to them again. This one that they are rejecting Stream 1 corpers in some places, what hope for we the stream two guys. I hear some schools are even rejecting corpers if they already have the teachers that take the subjects you can handle. And they are saying they only accept request letters from organisations in certain areas. Any info on this?

i was advised by a staff of nysc to look for ppa myself...am beginning to think i should heed

i think u r rite... cos some pple didnt get the sms. so after dividing us into streams and denying us camp,they still wnt to ruin d only chance for us to be in one accord nd fellowship together... it is official, i wnt make friends with anyone throughout my nysc year sad

i feel as though dis stream 2 had been targeted for bad, first no camp, dem no gree pay us August allowee, stress of 3 weeks was squeezed into 1 week so dat most of us became ill after, no compensation despite d fact dat other stream 2 states received 5k for bicycle money yet we had half d money...now ppa leta day had been postponed...who knows, they may tell us to go and look for company on our own. i am prepared for anything sha

u wont be able to open ur account unless you have ur id, u also need the bank form given to u in camp during reg, top it up with 2 passport photos.... i did mine in wema,ikoyi.... my acct number was sent to me d following day. i wished for a better bank but alas.... i was sent to one of d oldest bank in naija, well, thank God that it isnt Access Bank.

well,you will still have to go back for your id card and head to ur assigned bank twice (to open ur acct nd to collect ur atm card) but u can finish d other parts of registration d same day.

I got to camp at about 1:30pm and i have one stage left (d book of life),will be going to back on friday for that cus i have to collect my id card,i was able to collect my kit,am in platoon 7, take pics. if you are still waiting on d geo-zone timetable, u r on a long thing o. i am from south-west and i am almost done. Is there anyone whose bank was directed to wema bank,awolowo road in ikoyi.....lets hook up pls,so we can go together.

yes o....d tools plenty. btw i am so grateful to Automech for the info....I had already started calculating how much am gonna spend on food for 21 days. btw, i stay like a stone throw from camp but in order to get good space, i will be in camp like 5:30am on september 1st. cos i need a great bed close to the wall socket o......dnt mind me, i no fit shout. btw wen i went to collect my callup letter in surulere, so many foreign trained posted to lag like me were in oceans 2 as well. maybe thats why the forum is a bit dry.....u know some of these foreign trained peeps can like to form not wanting the nysc ish.......well well, who wants to join me 5:30am on september 1st?..... I be girlie o(in patoranking's voice)

Edo state is a large one that cut across so many other states. just like the yoruba land, ondos and akure is closer to the edo and delta land compared with ijebu and lagos. there are places like akoko-edo which speak yoruba and edo, there are also places that is closer to the igbo land. yorubas claim edo to be their brothers cos they are the closest to them amongst other tribes as well as the oduduwa's tale. some of the names especially the females starting with 'omo'. another reason people believe that edo's are close to yorubas is because of the ruling names like 'oba and iyoba.' some of the words also have like meaning and sound with the igbos, physically and complexion wise, the edos look so much like igbos. but edo is not a small town that one tribe can claim, its a big and ancient city. what matters most is that we live in unity and dont try to claim any land for your tribe cos every tribe is as old as the yoruba, igbo or hausa.
