The incessant harassment of subscribers on the MTN mobile network has gotren out of hand that one wonders if the NCC is truly up to its obligation in maintaining sanity in the telecommunication sector.

From interrupting an on going conversation during a call with an automated voice machine to remind its subscribers that they have one minute left on their airtime, to the senseless MTNOnDemand pop up that greets its subscribers during a call, and the ever annoying "you have one minute remaining, dial *606# to borrow airtime..." when you try to initiate a call, MTN keeps upping the ante on how barbaric, uncivilised, crude and senseless it can be to force subscribers to have their SIM card loaded with airtime at all times. This is pure harassment by MTN of its subscribers.

The proper approach to reminding customers/subscribers of low airtime is a simple beep that doesn't interrupt the on going conversation. NCC should wake up to its responsibilities and checkmate greedy firms from south Africa that are well known to rip Nigerian customers off their cash and employ sharp and crude practice in driving profit.
