The exiled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB], Nnamdi Kanu has confirmed that he is in Jerusalem, Israel.


In a broadcast on Sunday evening, Kanu vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he was standing trial before he left the country.

The FG had charged him with treason but Binta Nyako, a judge of the Federal High court in Abuja, had granted him bail after 18 months in detention.

Kanu had flouted all the terms of the bail, before the military invaded his Abia residence on September 14, 2017.

In a broadcast via Radio Biafra, Kanu boasted: “I promised the Zoo that I will be coming to Biafra and I came. I do not recognise the court of the Zoo. I want the people of the Middle Belt to rise and join IPOB.

“IPOB Military intelligent evacuated me from my compound, when the Army of the Zoo attacked me. I am in Israel and the efficiency of MOSAD will be replicated in Biafra. We shall hunt everyone down to avenge the death of IPOB members.

“The Governor of Abia State directed the assault on my father, who is a Monarch. I thank Donald Trump and the government of Israel, who stood by IPOB in our time of need. I thank Prof Ben Nwabueze who stood by me.

“I want to send my solidarity to Ayo Fayose and assure him that Biafra will stand by him in this hour of need. We will have a special place for him in Biafra.

Bill Cosby was sentenced Tuesday to three to ten years in state prison by a Pennsylvania judge, who had designated the comedian a “sexually violent predator.”


ABC News reports that the two-day hearing was attended by about a dozen women who accused Cosby of sexual assault, including Andrea Constand, whom he was convicted of assaulting in his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

“It’s been a long journey to get here and today justice was served.


“It has been a long time coming, but it arrived when a convicted felon named William H. Cosby Jr. left the courtroom in handcuffs headed off to state prison for his crimes,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said after the sentencing.

Judge Steven O’Neill sentenced Cosby in a Norristown, Pennsylvania, courtroom and rejected a request from defense attorneys to allow Cosby to be released on bail pending appeals.

O’Neill ordered Cosby to serve the sentence in “total confinement” for “no less than 3 years and no more than 10 years.”

Rebecca Sharibu, mother of Leah Sharibu, one of the abducted 110 Dapchi school girls by Boko Haram in Yobe State, who is yet to be released has filed a suit of N500 million against the Nigerian government.


Also joined in the suit as plaintiffs against the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General of the Federation over their failure to ensure the release of her daughter and for failure in their statutory duties, were Mr. Daniel David Kadzai and Lift-Up-Now Incorporation, a Non Governmental Organization in the United States of America.

The suit, dated September 19, 2018 with reference no FCH/L/cs/1528/18 was filed at the Federal High Court of Nigeria Lagos and a copy was made available to journalists on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The plaintiffs are demanding for N500 million as a compensation for the indignities and human deprivations suffered by Leah since her abduction in February 2018.

Part of the prayers sought by the plaintiffs in the suit was an order of the Honourable court to direct and mandate the defendants to secure the immediate and unconditional release of Leah from the custody of her captors, as well as an order compelling the defendants to employ every means in securing her release.

The Plaintiffs also sought: “An order compelling the defendants to pay the plaintiff the sum of N500 million being compensation for the indignities and human deprivations suffered by the plaintiff as a result of the defendants’ dereliction of statutory duties in securing her release from her captors since the month of February, 2018 till date of this action.”

Meanwhile, in an affidavit supporting the application, the 3rd Plaintiff and Executive Director of the Lift-Up-Now Incorporation, Dr Adeniyi Ojutiku, solemnly swears that he has been informed by their lead counsel, Tayo Doughlas Esq, that it is necessary in the circumstance to seek and obtain leave of the Honourable court to issue the originating summons on the defendants.

Following the Osun state governorship election which was earlier declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Presidency, Sunday averred that President Muhammadu Buhari deserves more accolades.


Recall that INEC had given its reason for declaring the election inconclusive. In a statement disclosed by the commissions Chief Returning Officer in Osun State, Joseph Adeola Fuwape, said that the inconclusive declaration was as a result of the thin margin which the candidate of PDP, Ademola Adeleke used to top APC candidate.

INEC has however scheduled September 27 for the governorship re-run.

In view of the above, some Nigerians via various social media have criticised INEC over its position on the election. Whereas, few Nigerians through same micro-blog site have commended INEC for a peaceful and successful conduct of the election.

But reacting on Sunday, the Personal Assistant to President Buhari, on New Media, Bashir Ahmad opined, “Whatever the outcome of Osun gubernatorial election, President Muhammadu Buhari deserves more accolades, in Nigeria, we have now relatively free and fair elections. Popular singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has reacted to the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declaring the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State inconclusive.


Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke is the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the election.

INEC said Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled about 254,698 ahead of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 254,345 votes.

This decision followed cancellation of votes in Orolu Local Government, Ife South LG, Ife North LG and Osogbo LG resulting.

Nigerian-born Anthony Joshua retained his International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) heavyweight titles, with a seventh-round stoppage of Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.


A previously close contest turned in Joshua’s favour decisively, when he sent the Russian crashing to the canvas, with a straight right hand and left hook.

The story of cancer may seem untrue as startling claims have emerged from a deathbed confession made by an ex-CIA officer, where he admitted to the killing.

Oxley is alleged to have claimed the murder of Marley among 17 other assassinations for the American government between 1974 and 1985, at a time when he said the CIA “was a law unto itself.”

Oxley, who reportedly worked as an operative for the CIA for 29 years, is alleged to have said he was often used as a hitman on targets deemed to “represent a threat to the interests of the United States.”

Omoruyi Efe, the son of deceased veteran actor, Sam Loco has relieved some fond memories he had of his father, stating that no one dared his father to stop smoking.

Omoruyi said his father, Sam Loco was planning his retirement by building a farm in Abakaliki before death took him away.

He told Vanguard: “Nobody could tell him to stop smoking because he was a very strict person. You couldn’t tell him something like that, so we didn’t see it as our business. However, we really miss him in the house because he had a very good sense of humour but he was a very busy person.

“We all expected him to retire so that we would have enough time to spend with him. He was also planning towards his retirement by building a farm in Abakaliki but death took him away suddenly,” he said.

The late actor’s son further disclosed that he admired his father especially as an actor, and Sam Loco hoped he would follow in his footsteps.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has signed into law three Bills transmitted by the National Assembly.

Laolu Akande, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, made the announcement in a statement on Saturday.

The Acts were the Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018; the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2018; and the Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology (Science) Jos (Establishment) Act, 2018.

According to the statement, “The Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018 provides the framework, as envisaged by Section 303 of the Constitution, for the administration of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Commission established under the Act will, without prejudice to the powers of the President, be responsible for the appointment and disciplinary control of staff in the Civil Service of the FCT.

Men of the Oyo State police command on Monday said that they have arrested a man for allegedly being in possession of three human skulls in Ibadan, the state capital.

The 27-year old Sodiq Rasheed, according to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude, was arrested around Omi Adio.

Odude while parading the suspect, said he was caught during a raid by the police.

Odude said his accomplice was still at large.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the names of five candidates with exemplary performance in the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The top five in the examination that involved more than 1.3 million candidates are Galadima Zakari from Biu in Borno State, who sat for the examination in Ogun as the candidate with the highest score with 364

Adekunle Jesufemi from Ogun State who sat for his examination in Abeokuta and scored 358 tocome second and the third position went to Alikah Oseghale from Edo State who sat for the examination in Ekpoma with a score of 357.

The fourth is Ademola Adetola from Ogun State who sat for the examination in Lagos with a score of 355.


While Akinyemi Paul from Ogun state, who wrote his examination in Lagos, Ape Moses from Benue who wrote the examination in Makurdi and Obi-Obuoha Abiamamela from Rivers who wrote the examination in Port Harcourt came fifth with a tie score of 354.”

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday opened up on the sacrifices he made in his quest to make Nigeria a better country.

Obasanjo said he sacrificed for the nation by fighting, “shedding blood” to defend the country during the civil war and even being sent to jail over a coup allegation he was innocent of.

He said this while hosting former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, who is one of the presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The former president, however, assured that he would continue to make sacrifices for the betterment of Nigeria.

He said he had been threatened and intimidated because of his convictions for a better Nigeria, but said “they had all amounted to nothing.”

Boko Haram: Terrorist commander on wanted list arrested in Banki IDP camp

Troops of operation LAFIYA DOLE on Saturday arrested a wanted Boko Haram suspect, Maje Lawan at Banki in Borno State, northeast Nigeria.

A statement from Texas Chukwu, a Brigadier General and Director Army Public Relations on Sunday said, the suspect believed to be number 96 on the wanted list earlier published by the Army was apprehended after he infiltrated into the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs camp in the area.

The United Nations is running out of cash, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned, saying the cash crunch is the worst in years.



The UN chief urged member states to pay their mandatory contributions on time and in full, so that the world intergovernmental body could continue to deliver on its key mandates.

In a letter to UN staff, the secretary-general stated that he had “written to member states regarding the troubling financial situation facing the United Nations.’’

Guterres wrote: “Caused primarily by the delayed contributions of member states to the regular budget, this new cash shortfall is unlike those we have experienced previously.

“Our cash flow has never been this low so early in the calendar year, and the broader trend is also concerning: we are running out of cash sooner and staying in the red longer.’’

Nigeria had paid its annual dues for 2018 in full, making it the 74th out of the 193 member states of the global intergovernmental organisation to fulfill its financial obligations.

Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins have killed an All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Chairman, Mr sunny Ejiagwu.


According to Channels TV, Ejiagwu who was the chairman of Ideato North Local Governement of Imo State, was murdered on Friday morning.

Ejiagwu, popularly known as Ohaneze was one of the 27 LGAs chairmen inaugurated on Monday by the new state chairman, Daniel Nwafor, after the state APC rescheduled election as ordered by the court.

The state commissioner of police, Dasuki Galandanchi, confirmed that the politician was killed along the Akokwa road in the Ideato North LGA .

The CP said, “The APC chairman in Ideato North has been murdered. I was at the scene of the crime and only came back. His corpse has been evacuated to a mortuary.

‘’There is no preliminary suspicion but the investigator would find out. The blood of the innocent would expose them.”

APC state chairman, Nwafor, briefing newsmen at the state party secretariat condemned the killing of the chairman.

Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West district at the National Assembly, has announced his escape from suspected kidnappers.

STAINLESS had reported that Melaye was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja Thursday morning.

Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has again insisted that he played no part in the bank robberies that took place on April 5, 2018 in Offa, Kwara state.


According to a tweet from Olu Onemola, his Special Assistant on New Media, Saraki who met a team of investigators on Thursday in his office said that he had nothing to do with any criminal activity.

“Further to the invitation to the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by the Police on July 23, 2018, and his written response to them on July 24, 2018 on why he could not see them that day — today at about 1:40pm, the Senate President met with a team of investigators on the Offa Robbery case in his office.

The President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has for the second time written to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in response to his invitation to appear for an interrogation.


Saraki had been invited over the allegations made against him by armed robbery suspects who attacked banks in Offa, Kwara State.

The police had in June invited Saraki for questioning over his alleged involvement in the bank robberies in Offa on April 5.


The former Kwara governor responded to the invitation in writing.

The Inspector General of Police, again, in a letter dated July 23 asked Saraki to report to the police on Tuesday at 8 am to provide further clarification on his relationship with the five leaders of the robbery gang.

The police boss, in his latest letter, said that the gang leaders claimed they were political thugs to Saraki, insisting that “the Senate President supplies arms and money to the thugs; that everyone in Kwara Central fears them because of their guns and ability to kill anybody without hesitation.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Wednesday declared President Muhammadu Buhari as the common enemy of Nigeria.

They made the declaration when the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Princess Goldba Tolofari, paid a courtesy visit to her PDP counterpart, Kola Ologbodiyan at the national secretariat of the former ruling party in Abuja.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the defection of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom from the Party.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ruling APC described Ortom’s political move on Wednesday as “somewhat surprising.”

The Party recalled efforts made by the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to address some of the grievances raised by the Benue State Governor pertaining to the local politics in Benue State.


It said: ”The Governor had left the meeting saying he was satisfied with the assurances given by Party leaders. We are still working on giving effect to the resolutions from the meeting. Therefore, we are somewhat surprised by Governor Ortom’s decision.

A coalition of Benue youths comprising of over forty groups today prevented Governor Samuel Ortom from attending a scheduled meeting with the All Progressives Congress, APC, National leadership in Abuja.


The Governor was leaving Government House, Makurdi for the trip when they blocked his route carrying placards.

Some of the placards read “Ortom don’t go back to APC,” “We don’t have land to donate for ranching,” “APC is Miyetti party,” Our farms are not for cows,” You must leave APC,” Ortom is our party, ” and “2019: On Ortom we stand.”

STAINLESS MEDIA reports that the spokesmen of the coalition, Terrence Kuanum, and Pastor Dave Ogbole advised the Governor not to make the trip for further discussions with the APC leadership on his membership of the party but to rather look for an alternative platform.

They threatened that if he attended the meeting they would vote him out in 2019.

A total of 37 members of the House of Representatives have announced their official defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This is coming barely 14 hours after 15 APC senators decamped to the PDP.

In the defection letter read by Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House, the lawmakers cited fictionalization and division in the party as their reason for leaving.

The details include 33 lawmakers from Kano, Sokoto, Kwara, Kogi and other states, who defected from the APC to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The four others are from Oyo State who defected from the APC to African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, drove himself into the National Assembly complex in a rickety private vehicle.


STAINLESS MEDIA gathered that Saraki was not in the vehicle when a detachment of security operatives blocked his convoy at his Apo residence.

It is an unsafe time for the country’s lawmakers as early this morning heavily armed security operatives besieged the residences of both the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

It is even said that the whereabouts of Saraki is largely unknown.

It could be recalled that midnight yesterday, the police high command invited Saraki to appear before it for questioning over alleged murder allegation that happened in Kwara, his home state.

Also, with the residences of the two key principal officers of the Senate under siege, the hallowed chamber is unlikely to hold plenary today
