Mind you, the opposition is made up of several categories of people which includes but not limited to Disgruntled former party members, people that honestly want a change, people that are looking for their "TURN" to loot/rule etc.
So, it means that a united opposition is impossible given that there are different motive for individuals.

But as citizen, get a conviction and vote.

One can't just form coalition and remain there just for the sole reason of seizing power.

When the coalition is made up of people with questionable character, the reason become that of personal gain other than a genuine mission to rescue.

The House of Representatives has ordered total shutdown of porn websites nationwide.

It directed the Nigerian Communications Commission to enforce the immediate shutdown of the websites in the country.

The House gave the directive during plenary on Tuesday.

The lawmakers suggested that the internet providers must block access under the new directive.

Member representing the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal constituency, Dalhatu Tafoki, sponsored the motion, calling it a step to “protect societal values.”

He said, “I would like to move a motion for the need to block internet websites hosting pornographic content and sanction the internet service providers responsible for the posting. The House notes that cyber pornography is fast becoming a global problem, and no concrete steps have been taken to cut its phenomenon in Nigeria.

“Nigeria is a highly religious country, and all the major religions in the country forbid nudity and obscenity in any form. Also note that countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have passed legislation that bans pornography in their domains.

The House adopted the motion and mandated its Committees on Communications and Legislative Compliance to ensure its implementation and report within four weeks for further legislative action.

The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abass, also warned that sanctions would be imposed on internet service providers that default while lawmakers put a voice vote in favour of the motion.

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has lamented the rise in energy theft in the past three months of the Band A tariff increase.

This is even as the DisCo threatened that offenders caught in the act of energy theft would be immediately charged to court, reiterating that the era of merely imposing loss of revenue penalty alone on offenders is over.

The company made this announcement at its July Stakeholders Forum.

In a statement made available to our correspondent on Saturday, Ikeja Electric’s Head of Corporate Communication, Kingsley Okotie, lamented the increase in energy theft, “especially over the last three months following the implementation of the reviewed tariff on Band A feeders”.

Okotie noted that the company and the entire electricity value chain cannot survive if energy theft goes unchecked.

“The theft is massive and the company cannot guarantee meeting customer expectations if this ugly trend continues. Ironically, some perpetrators believe that if they haven’t been caught, there are no consequences. This is false, and we must change the narrative,” he said.

Okotie stated that for the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry to survive, all stakeholders must fight in unison against theft, as the pilfering of electricity hinders the stability of the sector.


He emphasised that whatever happens to the power distribution companies affects the entire industry.
