My Hyundai Sonata 2015 sport 2.0T suddenly goes off and when I start it, I began hearing a knocking sound. My mechanic confirmed it's a knocking sound.

He says my two options are either to get a crank shaft with metal and bearing

Or get a new engine.

The former is cheaper but will it be a sustainable fix if done well?

Has anyone tried cleaning ur air intake system and that sensore?
Good evening, the air intake has been cleaned.

And the sensor, they've tried working on it but to no avail. My mechanic had it sent to Lag and they've returned it.
Hopefully it's perfect now.
I'll give an update.

Thanks for responding.
Have you had an experience of similar situation before?

You have evap vent open and a couple of turbo related codes which I’m sure is caused by having mechanics and electricians manhandling that vehicle electrical system.

P0106 is your MAP sensor have it checked. Also, check your air intake and turbo lines for air leaks and disconnected wires

P0234 code refers to turbo boost. Check your turbocharger and also your air intake and the turbine boost pressure sensor.

These are NOT DIY jobs and require highly competent technicians who knows their way around Hyundai vehicles.
Also note that that engine is one hell of a pesky engine and has been known to easily develop problems
Thanks for your response

Happy Saturday morning everyone, please I'm having an issue with my hyundai sonata 2015 sport 2.0t.
The movement has been dragging for weeks now, and when it's scanned it shows the codes P0106, P0234, P0236, P0620, P0625.
The mechanic and rewire have tried working on it but it's same result. It would go off when I get it back, but once I turn off the engine, on the next ignition, the check comes back on and the issue comes back.

Has anyone has this issue and how did you go about it? What did you do to get a lasting solution

I also have a P0447 that popped up after I got hit from the rear couple of months ago. Does anyone has this issue as well

Thanks
