They issue vignette for long term Visa alone .

I'm sure he/she hold a visit Visa which doesn't require vignette

iboboyswag:
Is it a visa with an expired vignette or what?

If the visa is due to expire in June it is sure as hell that the vignette has long expired.

Stop applying for credit cards - the more you apply, the more you mess up your nascent credit record, each rejected application counts against you.
Yes, you can register to vote, go to the gov.uk site and do that.

Leave this matter for another 6 months at least.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 6:45pm On Apr 29, 2021
Hello senior,

Please any help with this credit score of a thing?

I tried to get a contract sim only at 02 , they said I'm not eligible. I tried to get several credit cards , same thing.

Please is it possible for tier 4 visa holder to get voting roll or how can I sort this credit issue?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 9:18am On Apr 22, 2021
Ohhhh, Thank you for the clarification.

omopapa:
Sim only contact is a SIM card you get on contract from the big Telecomms like Tmobile/EE, three network, O2, Vodafone and the likes.

Giffgaff, Lyca, lebara and the likes belong to same whatsapp grp and they do not have any effect on credit score
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 3:07pm On Apr 21, 2021
Thank you so much.

I still don't understand the sim only contract phone. I'm currently using Giffgaff and I do pay £10monthly for goodiebag

wonlasewonimi:
It has been discussed gazillion times on this thread...get a sim only contract phone (usually less than £10/pm), get a credit builder credit card for like £150 credit limit to use and pay back in full, get on the electoral roll, sign up to credit reference agencies - free ones are credit karma, clearscore and MSE credit club. They all pull info using the original agencies APIs. Good luck!

How can you get credit sorted?

For TIER 4 visa holder?

wonlasewonimi:
Driving is the least of your problem if you're new to UK. You need need to get your job, accommodation, bank account and credit sorted first.

Hello,

Please how can I send pounds to Nigeria aside trade by barter?

I need small Naira
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 12:39pm On Mar 20, 2021
Lastly please

If I have a full UK driving license, what's the price range of insurance I can get ?

Mamatukwas:
Yes but this was 3 years ago. Things might have changed now.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 11:37am On Mar 19, 2021
Many thanks

The amount you quoted is for the 12months period right?

Mamatukwas:
Mine was Admiral. About £900. Arnold Clark sold my husband theirs for his 1st time. It was cheaper I think £600 with intl drivers license. But their renewal was expensive so he also moved to Admiral and we now do multi car for savings.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 8:18am On Mar 19, 2021
Good morning

Please like how much did you pay for insurance during that period?

And which insurance company did you used?

Mamatukwas:
You can. That’s what we did for a year before getting our UK drivers license.

TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 7:50pm On Mar 15, 2021
The entire point is that someone come here to seek the right information but instead you gave him misleading information. O wrong now.

Tobexin:
even somebody that have been to prison with bad record gets ILR as he meets other criteria or give reference to anyone you know that have been denied ILR owing to your claim and not hearsay. I am not advising people to engage in criminality but the way you guys portray the system to be is not like so. The Uk system is built on lies and deceit. I know this is a faceless forum everybody get he own thing.

Check your offer letter. Most companies will require one month notice or a month salary in lieu of that

Fola222:
Please for those working at what point did you tell your employer you are travelling, I mean how many weeks notice... Please respond

You have offline you can't cater for and you have time to come and be doing advertisement on nairaland. Simple questions they asked you and you flared up like this . You're not even sincere with your answers, you lie too much and you're talking about reputation.

You think you're the first person into this kinda hustle? , You better thread carefully.

Anyways just to advise you if you're truly on a student visa, i think you should limit the kind of transactions you do. You might not have a problem now ,but When it's time to apply for pgw that's when you might have plenty questions to answer because obviously what you're doing is a violation of your student visa conditions.

Please note, I don't know about UK but I know students that couldn't extend their stay in Germany because of this kinda stuff you're doing. Good luck man.

Tobexin:
I don’t need client out here as I have enough offline I can’t even cater for. I only thought of helping that’s why I mentioned my biz here!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by starboychan: 12:50pm On Jan 25, 2021
Most schools don't request for statement before CAS

babajeje123:
Wow! I feel the school that gave CAS for account statement that wasn't up to 28 days should be blamed. I can't concentrate on anything
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by starboychan: 4:57am On Jan 25, 2021
Hello, don't worry too much it will fly.

But in case you're in doubt, if you're yet do your biometric, you can write a letter of explanation to let the case worker know that it's a mistake .

I picked "overseas higher education provider" instead of "higher education provider with a track record of compliance"
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 12:24pm On Jan 24, 2021
Thank you so much

I will add it to my to do list. I only know how to use Microsoft office and autocad because my here in Nigeria is basically resident engineer. I also have COREN, I don't know if that will help in becoming chartered Engineer in UK .

Another advise is Civil Engineering being on the shortage list gives you an advantage so start applying for jobs once you get in. Depending on the level of tour experience and expertise with engineering softwares that would give you and edge.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 8:30am On Jan 24, 2021
Okay, I will check it out. Thank you

TheGuyFromHR:
Now that you're coming to the UK, for project management certification, I would recommend you looked at doing an APM PMQ certification before PMI.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 6:00am On Jan 24, 2021
Thanks boss, I really appreciate. I did HSE and project management certification in Nigeria but not sure it will be recognised. My initial plan is to do PMI project management certification, but I will add HSE now too.

Many thanks

Food:
pack some noodles
crayfish
no red oil (not worth the stress)
dry fish (your house mates will hate the smell)
egusi (please grinded!)
Maggie (important!!)
dry pepper (importanter!!)
no need for more than 2 pasta (it’s cheap here, but you might not want to shop when you get here)
kilishi (if you like it)
garri (I don’t eat this stuff)
small sugar
1 pack of powdered milk (Milo too if you like)
fry some meat (don’t try this if your destination is Heathrow)
Some dried veggies for your egusi soup
Amala powder/poundo (small please)
Beans (not much, the one here gets done quickly)

Put all these in your luggage o!
Nobody will ask you about your work for student visa application.

Although am still building the account. I did not stop. I have a job am doing since last year but the pay is low that’s why I started building my account thru other means.

Now am applying for student visa. I don’t know if I should include the job am doing presently now that is not paying well, or I should remove it and put the non realistic job that is paying me in my account. I have series of certifications on training for these job that is not paying well and it’s a bank.

Another question is do they ask for employment letters if input in my CV that u work to date?

Coz I don’t want to contradict my self in my statement of account. But am proud of the certificates I have earned on these job which will boost my cv.

Thanks so Justwise

justwise:
Well .. like people have said already you need to come with money....you know that maintenance money and school fees you presented during visa application? You need to come with it .

1. Get part time job as soon as possible, don't pick and choose jobs until you settle.

2. You need to learn how to cook and not depend on eating out

3. Avoid getting contract phone, get sim-only contract from Smarty, meaning you only pay for what you used.

4. Look for bills inclusive accommodation a bit far from town centre...just 10-15mins walking distance to university .

5. Pick carefully the type of African/Nigerian church to attend.

Has CBN also hammered MoneyFex?
I used it on Wednesday and it went through as always.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by starboychan: 11:18am On Jan 23, 2021
That's a relief.

I don't eat when I'm traveling as well. I don't have any allergy so I should be fine .

Thank you
