Regarding the amount to be in the statement, if the school is insisting on her proof of fund before i20 issuance ,despite being funded by the school, she only needs to simply send a mail to the school to ask for the minimum balance in the account. Also to answer your query about depositing the said amount in her account or not, you have to provide more details about her age, when she graduated, how long she has been working....

Please I need your advice.
My Sister just got an admission to Georgia state University with tuition waiver and monthly stipend of $500
She is about getting her I-20 and is confused about how much should be in the account for bank statements. And where can she say she got the funds from cos she doesn't have a personal savings of her own

Q: Why a master’s degree in computer science?
A: The Nigerian government has been actively pushing for hospitals to transition to electronic medical records. While this is a positive development, it has created an urgent need for secure ways to analyze sensitive healthcare data. A master’s degree in computer science will equip me with the skills to develop privacy-preserving techniques for training models on this data, improving healthcare outcomes while complying with strict privacy laws. In the long term, this education will also provide me with the expertise needed to establish data centers in Nigeria, ensuring that data generated in the country remains local and secure.

Q: How will you fund your studies?
A: I have be working as a DevOps for the past 3yrs, I make 3500 dollar which is about 5.5m naira and I have been able to save up substantial amount of money which I will use to cover my deficit of 18650. My research assistantship covers my full tuition, and I will also get $6,000 stipend annually.

Q: How much exactly do you have in savings:
A: I have 19800 in savings

Q: Have you traveled out of the country?
A: Yes, I attended a work-related event in the Netherlands, where I gained valuable experience collaborating with international teams.

Q: I see you were here last month with Lamar University
Yes, I had initially applied to both Georgia State University and Lamar University. However, GSU’s decision came later, and I accepted their offer because it included a research assistantship with a full tuition waiver and a stipend. This assistantship is directly related to my career goals, as I’ll be working on distributed federated learning systems in Dr. Zhang’s lab.

Q: How did you get another date so fast?
A: After my denial, the same week I got the Georgia State University offer, so I booked another interview as it was my first choice university, Initially selected Abuja but I kept checking for possible dates

Q: did you use an agent?
A: no I did not

To God Almighty be all the glory. Just checked the list today and visa approved. Applied last week in July 2022, so the wait was 8 months. I have a CSEP and applied as a single parent with full custody of my child wanting my child to join me here in Ireland.
