Vo was a man and because I understood the accent well, I replied as swiftly/quickly as he asked so he asked a lot of questions in few mins.

Vo- good morning, can I have your passport?
Me- yes pls
Vo- where are you going to
Me- Maryland, specifically salisbury.
Vo- okay, why are you going there?
Me- I am going to see a friend and his family, I haven’t seen him since my wedding.
Vo- how do you know your friend?
Me- we are childhood friends and we also went to same university.
Vo- oh nice, where’s your university?
Me- (named country)
Vo- nice! Are you married?
Me- yes, married with a child.
Vo - how old is your baby?
Me- ( answered)
Vo- when do you want to travel ?
Me - 30th October
Vo- and how long will you be staying?
Me-just 3 weeks- though my leave is 1month but I want to come back and prepare for work resumption and ofcourse I need to spend Christmas with my family too.
Vo- right , that’s right! What does your husband do?
Me- He is a banker and also imports cars.
Vo- And when was your wedding again?
Me - 2017
Vo- and you said your friend came for your wedding in 2017?
Me- yes, only him- I only saw the family the last time I visited US.
Vo- okay, okay , okay, what does your friend do again and where does he work ?
Me- I answered
Vo- oh ! What did your friend study and what did you study ?
Me- he studied Engineering and I, pharmacy.
Vo- oh you are a pharmacist?
Me- yes, licensed and practicing and I also have my license here.
Vo- oh it’s okay, don’t worry- I will be approving your visa, you will be sent an email to the email you provided when your visa is ready.

VOs don't really take documents from you concerning the marriage cert, but my rule of thumb in life is to have it and not need it than to need it, and not have it.
I don't think you need family photos for the B1/B2 visa, but we don't know the circumstances of your application.

Take same passport and a new passport taken a week or two to your interview because the passports are supposed to be 6 months old at your interview date.[/quote]

Good morning, I want to know if it is compulsory I use same passport photo I uploaded on DS-160 form or I can take along another ?
Also I am taking along my marriage certificate, do I need go along with family pictures?

You’ve been to the US you don’t have to panic please.
When asked for your purpose of travel, simple state it as it is, holiday to visit friends. It’s not a cause to panic and when asked how long will you stay just tell them three weeks because you’ll be on leave. Answer honestly to what you’re asked, no addition no subtraction.

Why are you concerned about saying your reason to the VO

Since you've traveled before you know will state your purpose of travel at the border patrol

You don't have a dilemma unless there's something you're not saying.


Did you have the baby in the US? If you didn't then no problem.

Nope I don’t, I didn’t get my first visa in Nigeria so I don’t really know how it works here.

Nope, my baby is here in Nigeria with hubby. And I also had her here in Nigeria.

I just found this link. Plssss help me through. My interview is on Monday!!! and I am having dilemma on how to present
‘’what’s your purpose of travel’’ question if/when asked.
Let me explain my situation And I will appreciate professional reply to it urgently 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I want to go to US for my 1month leave from work but will be staying only 3weeks. I also have an invitation from a friend( a citizen- resides there with family)

I am married with a baby. Travelled to US before but passed the Dropbox validity,
So I want to ask the best way to answer the question ‘purpose of travel to US’

Do I say My husband and I discussed that I take my 30 days leave to US on vacation though I will be staying only 3weeks or do I say I am going to visit my family friend and his family whom I haven’t seen since my last trip to US (since I will be staying in their house) ??
Also I am a med personnel and sponsoring myself.

Pls someone should kindly help me through this dilemma.
