@smslive2 Yours truly has done this already. You can download the PCC request form here: http://www.nigeriacrb.com/Police%20Report%20Form.pdf - Complete the form sign and thumb/hand print as required - Scan alongside biodata page of your passport and email to someone / friend or relative in Nigeria - They will print out hard copies to take to Alagbon for processing - PCC certificate costs ranges between N3,000 - N6,000 depending on how well they can negotiate - Your contact will scan back the PCC certificates and the stamped/approved copies of the forms for your application smslive2: Please i need a clarification on something, if you could help ask that person who was resident in UK and issued PR.
How did they go about the Police Clearance for Nigeria? Did they go through Nigerian Embassy or did they just download the PCC form and put their fingerprint and sent to Alagbon?
If they downloaded the form online, Did they include the fingerprint page on their application or just the certificate?
Thanks |

I want to believe it all depends on you. Where do you have your money and how do you intend to show your PoF? If I deduce from your post all your PoF would be deposited in a bank account, there's no rule on the CIC PoF website that says your bank account should be from a particular country. Someone I know resident in the UK was recently issued PR; they used partly UK bank account and other part in gift deed placed in a Nigerian bank account. Bearing in mind that for a bank account/letter you must show at least 6 months of transactions/average balance repectively; also at the time you apply the funds must be in the account. However, there's no stipulated period that the funds should be held as in UK 28days style. If you read page 0 under PoF While it is logical to show funds from the country in which you currently reside I'm yet to see where this is a compulsory requirement. In the end, whatever you decide I'll suggest it should be well explained in your LOE - why you chose where the funds are placed, probably you have investment interests in that country or that's where you work / receive your income, you received a gift deed etc. Also bear in mind exchange rate conversions CAD/GBP or CAD/NGN Mzstephh: Guys please I need to ask a question about proof of funds for PR. So basically I am in the UK and at the moment do not have the money in my account at the moment, please tell me they don't do that 28 day rule saying the money has to be in your account for a certain period of time before you apply.. Since I am in the UK I am confused as to where I should have the required money, in my Nigerian account or UK account. Please help a sister out. THANK YOU. |

Thanks @salford1 salford1: I am not into IT, but i suggest you google jobs in your field in Canada. The job vacancies would likely have somethings in common like certfications or certain required skills. The same keywords maybe used when HR reps are browsing through hundreds of resumes. |

This is still okay. Especially since the source of money is your spouse on a joint application not some third party. The LOE also got you covered. Ideally and maybe for some comfort he could submit his bank statement alongside the application but this is not necessary. Seniors can also weigh in on this... pejuhazel: Thanks a lot. But it's only about 60% of the money tht will be fixed, the rest will be coming from my husband. He'll pay it into my account and accompany it with an LOE. Do you think that's acceptable and will he need to submit his account statement?. |

Hi, I'm not certain what the terms of your agreement is with the consultant but it's never too late to end your EE processing with them. There are testimonies of people on this thread who were in a similar position as yourself including those that had to create new EE profiles even after they had received ITA due to a fall out with their so called 'visa consultants'. They got another ITA and now have their PPRs All you need to succeed in the process is already on this thread, if you can diligently read through the steps followed by others and page 0 is a good place to start. Afterwards if there's anything that's still unclear to you; don't hesitate to ask the house to get answers to your questions. Best wishes! jyteman: pls need an advice am just starting my EE process and I employed the use of an immigration consultant with 50% payment made, it was along d line that I discovered that I don't really need their service as there presence is not going to influence any thing I just sat for my ielts and my credentials are under going assessment, at this point I thought I should opt out as non of my doc is in there custody, base on the info gotten from here there is no big deal if filing my profile to CIC. my self owing to the fact that there are still financial commitment to be incurred during the process. pls I hope my action won't invalidated my profiles for bridge of agreement I plan to tell them am suspending the process to raise fund. sorry for the long text. |

This should be fine. Investments are usually exempt from the 6 months holding period as mentioned on page 0 under POF. FDs and specifically TBs will usually give you a good return as the funds are held in investments pejuhazel: Hello everyone, I first would like to say thanks to the initiators of this thread, you've been a blessing to so many. I've been silently following for a while now and now I have a question about POF. My husband and I are planning on applying soon but the money that we're required to have in our accounts will be coming in two or three instalments. We don't want the money sitting in the account for 6 months before beginning, so we were advised to invest some of it in bonds or put it in a fixed deposit and get a certificate or a statement. While the rest of it will be in my account and will be accompanied by an LOE from my husband that he's the one providing the funds since I am the PA. Please I would like to know if this is sound advice. We are a family of 3, myself, hubby and our 1yr old. Thanks |

Hello e-family. I have a UK MSc IT and 3yrs foreign experience in NOC 2172 (not landed yet). Please I want to know if the CIPS IT certification cips.ca/AITP is required to get a good IT job in Canada
I understand that other Canadian industry professionals such as engineering have APEGA and accounting have CPA. It will be helpful to know this before I commit to the $75 application review and $275 membership fee (Ontario) |

Thanks @sleekysilk. This is quite insightful sleekysilk: Hi. If you're married, you have 2 options. (i) selecting married and say YES to spouse accompanying and ur spouse may or may not help u get d extra marks u need to beef up ur CRS depending on if u have great points or not. OR (ii) selecting married and say NO to accompanying spouse and ur CRS will be computed like as if u were a single applicant BUT you cannot come back to add ur spouse. Also, you cannot add ur spouse after ITA when your marriage date is date before ITA. That is misrepresentation. The only situation u can add spouse after ITA is when ur wedding/marriage was actually after ITA. And sure ur marriage certificate will corroborate the dates. If you're considering saving cost by doing just one of ECA or IELTS for spouse, I'll rather let spouse do IELTS at lesser cost and aim at getting the maximum points of 20 than doing ECA at higher cost with plenty stress of transcript application and the maximum points spouse can get is 10 even with a PhD degree. |

The question seems to have been misinterpreted. At no point during the application will a certificate of marriage be withheld from the CIC or marital status be falsified.
The question is 'Can a spouse initially mentioned on an EE application be changed from 'unaccompanying' to 'accompanying' after AOR? There's no intention to misrepresent marital status at all
However judging from the hassles and controversy surrounding it. It may be safer to just stick with spouse taking IELTS and accompanying. I think it's better this way
tollu: There's no experience is the best teacher in this matter. If you add your spouse after AOR, you have misrepresented and may earn yasef a nice long ban. Because all your marriage documents will show you got married before the AOR date.
Some choose to say their spouses aren't accompanying. I don't know for sure how that works. Maybe sponsorship after you have landed? That's another long thing.
Enter pool with the 425 and keep your fingers crossed or convince your spouse to take the exam. Those are your three options. |

Thank you for clarifying this we shall stick to option 2
Hephgirl: Looks like u don't get... U can't add ur spouse after Aor if u r married. Convince ur spouse to write... While u jump into d pool... |

Hmm this is getting interesting, please if there are married applicants in the house who have successfully added their spouses after AOR. Kindly bail us out as the elders would normally say "Experience is the Best Teacher"
Farefare: I beg to differ. To the best of my knowledge, Option one is possible to the extent that you will be allocated points as a 'single' applicant if you have an 'unaccompanying' spouse'; meaning no need for ielts nor eca from spouse and you still maintain a high score. |

Thanks @jergins. My apologies, the 425 score actually includes pending ECAs for both of us but no spouse IELTS. So the contention is actually centred around spouse's IELTS test. As advised by @Abby2017 we will dive in at 425 and update profile as soon as our situation changes if we haven't received an ITA by then.jergins: As advised by Abby2017...
Option 1 is not possible,
Your best bet is option 2, enter pool with 425, start spouse ECA that should get you 10 points..totalling 435 which should be ok, to get ITA. with that you dont need spouse IELTS. |

Thanks @Abby2017 . The captioned question on the CRS tool led me to wonder if single application was a possibility for married couples. In that case we shall do the needful as advised while we work on my spouse IELTS and ECAsAbby2017: Congrats on your IELTS result. Since you are married, you do not have the opportunity to apply as single, so scenario 1 is out of the way which leaves you with option 2 only. I suggest you enter the pool with your projected CRS of 425 while you try to convince your spouse to write IELTS to boost your score. You can't tell if the cutoff will drop below 425 while you are at it. All the best. Thanks @Abby2017 . The captioned question on the CRS tool led me to wonder if single application was a possibility for married couples. I'm a recent but keen follower of this noble thread. Although I only started reading 1 month ago. My dream to Canada has never been brighter.
I received my IELTS results yesterday and thanks to the tips and advice of seniors and insightful analysts on the thread suggesting sites like ieltsbuddy, ieltsliz. I was able to make:
LRWS - 8, 7.5, 7, 8.
Thanks guys you are too much... to all those who were disappointed at their scores, please don't give up. Whenever there's a will there's always a way. Delay does not mean denial
Now, Please I need some guidance on my application, I'm married but my spouse is not keen on taking the IELTS.
Scenario 1: I submit EE profile with a CRS score of 437 receive ITA apply get AOR then add spouse afterwards. I understand it's possible for singles that get married after AOR to do this. Can married couples do same?
Scenario 2: I apply from the onset as PA (MSc, 3yrs Exp) with my spouse (BSc, OND, 2yrs Exp) CRS score drops to 425 meaning my spouse would have to do IELTS; assuming a minimum score of 6,6,6,6 in L,S,R,W brings joint CRS to 435
Please elders in the house kindly advise as Scenario 1 (if possible) saves us time and money on spouse's IELTS and ECA
In the multitude of counsel there is safety. Thanks ahead!!! |
