Politics / 2019: Buhari Confident Of Beating Atiku, PDP, Presidential Candidate? by Stephenmgj3e(m): 8:59pm On Dec 21, 2018
In spite of the fact that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, a retired army General and others, were said to have ganged up to forestall the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, he appears confident of beating Atiku Abubakar, his closest rival and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Candidate in the 2019 Presidential election.

The rumour making the rounds that Ahmed Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state, popular, Jagaban and National leader of the APC, who was instrumental to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP in the 2015 election had turned his back to Head the Buhari National Campaign Organisation may have strengthened the bond between the duo as they appear frequently together in public functions these days to disabuse people’s mind that there is no crack in APC.

The situation is worse in Lagos where the fake product manufacturers are scattered in different parts of the state. Seriake Dickson, the governor of the state, who was touched by the violent clash between the two neighbouring Ijaw Communities was said to have reached out to Austin Iwar, the state Commissioner of Police who deployed fierce-looking policemen to the area to stop the crisis. the governor has every reason to do so because the two communities have been known to have a ”long tradition keeping of the peace”.Residents told The Value News that without the intervention of Dickson, the crisis could have degenerated beyond measure as the combatants were armed with dangerous weapons.

Business / Why Ali Introduced The E- Auction Platform by Stephenmgj3e(m): 2:23pm On Dec 18, 2018
More facts have emerged why Hameed Ali, a retired Colonel, and Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, introduced the e-option platform for the auction of the thousands of condemned vehicles by the Court ofLaw in various Customs Formations across the country.

This is to ensure transparency, security , increased avenue generation from such vehicles and to remove the vices associated with the previous arrangement where there was no accountability as auction papers were allocated to cronies and those who are connected to top Customs officials including National Assembly members, particular, those on the Committee on Customs, who could give notes to their cronies to give to the Comptroller General to be given an auction allocation vehicle, showing that people were treated differently without following laid down procedure laid for such exercise.

Politics / 2018: Buhari Year Of Travel Bans? by Stephenmgj3e(m): 2:12pm On Dec 18, 2018
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, appears set to deal with his political opponents to force them to submission. He was said to have given the nod to Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC , and MuhammadBabadende, Comptroller General , Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, to go ahead and ensure that the provisions of the Executive Order 6, which had been signed into Law on July 5, 2018, were implemented to the later.

It was not surprising why he could place some people on the travel ban list, pending the determination of their cases based on the advice of Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice. The Executive Order, according legal to experts, gives Buhari powers to do anything which must not be querried by the Court, an indications that the” Court must uphold the Constitutionality of his actions”.

Crime / Containerised Truck Owners Cry Out by Stephenmgj3e(m): 5:53pm On Dec 16, 2018
Containerised Truck owners’ are no longer finding it funny along the Lagos-Apapa Expressway to do their business. This is because of the high level of extortion by security operatives, along the port access road.

Narrating their traumatic experience from the lingering Lagos ports access roads gridlock, truckers, who are vital components of the logistics supply chain, were said to have cried out to President Muhammadu Buhari and Akinwumi Ambode, the Lagos State governor to speedily intervene to save the situation from degenerating as many of them were being forced out of business.

The road haulage operators under the aegis of Containerised Truck Owners lamented about the persisting trauma suffered in the hands of the security operatives and roads and bridges where trucks are parked, claiming that it was adversely affecting their health and the performance of their vehicles. They were said to have been made to pay between N20,00000.00 and N80,000,000.00 per truck to be allowed to remain on the long queue on the road or bridge, depending on the drivers ”negotiating power”.

Business / Why Cbn Set Up A Committee To Administer Exporters’ N500 Billion Credit? by Stephenmgj3e(m): 5:15pm On Dec 15, 2018
For years,  Companies involved in exporting Agricultural products have not found it easy in penetrating the United States and the European markets to sell their products. This is because of the enormous financial resources involved in packaging their products to compete with  other African countries, particular, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire and the Asian countries of Malaysia, Thailand to name but a few.

The ministry of Agriculture, at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari had given the exporting Companies the go-ahead to export ginger which is  one of the most traded spices in the world and Nigeria , happens to be one of the largest producer. This in addition to textiles and garments, cocoa butter, gallstone, rubber, sesame seed and honey.

Other Agricultural  products on the approved list for export include palm kernel oil, unprocessed wood, Shrimps, garlic, yam tubers, charcoal, cotton, cassava flour, cashew nuts, snail, chili pepper, fruit juice, poultry products, cosmetics and soap.

Politics / 2019: Nigerian Politicians Lack Integrity- Yakasai by Stephenmgj3e(m): 12:20pm On Dec 14, 2018
Between 1999 and Now, it is no longer news how Nigeria politicians who have ruled the country and are still within the corridors of power are manipulating the political system, defecting from one political party to the other and returning back to the same party again to seek greener pastures.

From president Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of People’s Democratic party, PDP, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra state on the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, and Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP, Donald Duke, a former PDP governor of Cross Rivers state and Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, who was said to have been replaced by the Court on the prompting of an aggrieved party Presidential Candidate, the story is the same.

Others on the list Bukola Saraki, former governor of Kwarra state and now Senate President and Chairman of Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Council, Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of House of Representatives, Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo state on the platform of Labour party, LP, and PDP, at different times, and Presidential Candidate of the LP, Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rives state on the platform of the PDP, and now minister of Transportation under the ruling All progressive Congress, APC, government and Aliyu Babangida, former governor of Niger state, on the platform of PDP, to name but a few.

Is it the atiku and pdp who stated there was a bridge in communication and promptly did the needful afterwards by having it's chairman and presidential candidate sign the accord that is bowing to pressure?

Crime / FOU: Dismantling Smugglers And Importers Syndicate by Stephenmgj3e(m): 9:01am On Dec 13, 2018
Mohammed Aliyu, Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Zone A, Ikeja, Lagos, is a happy man. Mohammed’s source of happiness was how the Command has been able to suppress the activities of smugglers in the south west which is what is acceptable the world over. This is in addition to checkmating the importers syndicate at the Lagos seaports over alleged flouting of payment of appropriate duties and faking of documents to take delivery of their Containerised cargoes.

Mohammed, who was said to have put into maximum use the Command’s Operations and Lagos Roving team, the Strike Force, Rapid Response team and other Surveillance tea, maritime analysts said, could go to bed without worry as Mohammed Ubah garba, his predecessor and now Comptroller of Seme Command may have a standard which he had no option but to sustain and improve upon as he is under the close watch of the Management and the Presidency.

Abubakar, Gowon and Ketil Karlsen, the Head of the EU delegation , in Nigeria, to oversee the 2019 , general elections were said to have invited the 91 political parties allegedly registered by Professor Mahmood Yakubu led Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The EU may have sent the high powered delegation ahead of the 2019 general elections to ensure a smooth conduct of the elections.

This is because of the involvement of soldiers in the training of officers and men of the Command on weapons handling to avoid accidental discharge of bullets which are the trademarks of policemen across the country.
