They have no regard for the electorate, including the winner, Jackson, who should have thanked Osun people for their support and leave it at that but kept on mentioning the President, man who only cares about what he can get. They say it's politics, they say it's strategy but they think people are dumb. Let's see how 2027 will go and if his mandate shall stand. He thinks he can command Osun people like that. A. Aliyu

As a highly influential Northern governor and chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum, Aliyu pledged that Niger State's political machinery would deliver the state to PDP's incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. He openly campaigned under the assumption that his executive dominance would dictate the people's votes. The electorate did not follow his direction, resulting in one of the most lopsided defeats for an incumbent establishment in Nigerian history.

Goodluck Jonathan was decisively rejected in Niger State, pulling only 149,222 votes. The opposition candidate, Muhammadu Buhari (APC), swept the state with a staggering 657,678 votes. Governor Aliyu also lost his own personal bid to transition to the Senate, losing the Niger East Senatorial district election to APC's David Umaru.


B. Elrufai
As an incredibly powerful founding member of the APC and a fierce loyalist, Governor El-Rufai went all out to campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Because the APC held full executive power and machinery in Kaduna, it was considered a guaranteed win for the party. Despite El-Rufai's tight control over the state, the electorate did not follow his direction. The state rejected Tinubu, and the PDP's Atiku Abubakar swept Kaduna State with 554,360 votes. Where is Elrufai today?

C. What happened to Sanwoolu or Ganduje or even Okowa who was actually on the ballot as the Vice- Presidential candidate for the PDP. He and his party structures confidently expected Delta State to vote entirely for the PDP ticket. Even with the sitting governor being on the national ticket, Delta State voters ignored his candidacy. The Labour Party swept Delta State with 341,866 votes, entirely rejecting the sitting governor's regional influence.

Or should we talk about Isa Yuguda and Bauchi and how Buhari beat PDP like pulp. These people are foolish to realize that Governors do not own the thumbs of their voters. Even Wike is being tolerated but let him try what he did again and see if the people will do like mumu again by changing their votes.
