1. Is it mandatory to provide proof of funds even if I have a valid job offer in Canada and I have started the job a month ago

2. My spouse did not claim any points for work experience but on the checklist she is asked to provide work reference- is this mandatory or just a general checklist?

3. After leaving Nigeria in 2016, I have obtained a police clearance for travelling to a different country, can I still use the police clearance though it says only valid for 3 months (since2016) but was obtained after I left the country?
This is because I am finding it difficult to apply for another police clearance from Nigeria as the portal is showing NIN not found despite having a valid NIN used for my passport

I will appreciate anyone who can provide insight on this please

Good day house, I recently joined the Express Entry pool and will like some advice/guidance to avoid errors and possibly increase my scores.

My scores currently stand at 464points and I shouldn't be losing points via age for another 9/10 months.

1.) My appointment letter doesn't include job roles, just indicating that I have been appointed to a certain role. Should this be a concern?

2.) I currently entered the pool as sales Engineer for NOC 62100 – Technical sales specialists - wholesale trade. Does it qualify as a stem related NOC. I'm asking against stem draws. I believe I can also switch to 21301 – Mechanical engineers. Please advice.

3.) If I receive an invitation to apply, would I need to submit Job reference for all my listed employments/NOCs or just my primary NOC? I would like to know so I do not give myself unnecessary stress with documentation.

4.) Can POF funds be provided in multiple accounts? E.g naira and dollar or savings and mutual funds.

5.) Is there a link that indicates the NOCs considered for Stem draws? Kindly share please.

6.) I added 16months work experience from my father's company where I'm also listed as a shareholder 15% of total shares. Hope this isn't an issue.

7.) Kindly advise how I can improve my scores or be better qualified for PNPs. I have a sibling in Alberta but they've put their draws on hold and I'm yet to get good evidence that they previously selected Sales Engineer/Mechanical Engineers or any other NOCs I may qualify for in their provincial draws.

1. You need reference from employer, employment letter is not necessary if you get the reference, if you are unable to get reference then the employment letter plus other documents like payslip, promotion letter and others can be used but even that the roles must be specified in the employment letter, since yours doesn't have it, it wont be helpful to your application.

2. The 2 STEM draws that have held didn't include 62100, neither was 21301 invited for the STEM draws.

3. You need to get reference only for the job you claimed points for. if your only NOC is 21301 and that is what you claimed, you don't need reference for a previous role in administration that you did prior or after the 21301. you only add that to your personal history but no evidence is required for that.

6. No issue, make sure you list all companies that you are involved with either as a share holder or employee in your personal history, even as a volunteer.

7.I don't have full info about Alberta PNP route at the moment. I am not aware if they put their draws on hold. I doubt the validity of such claim because they had a draw on the 20th Feb 2024

IRCC checklist on page 1 post 5......very important.

1. IRCC wants a letter in their format, often the letter has some missing info so we add bank statements. Try to a letter from Revolut or move to Lloyds get a letter and add statements with an LOE. I'm not sure you should submit a bank statement without a letter.

2.They said upload a blank page and they will let you know when to so meds.

3. Work ref letter is sufficient unless it has missing info. You can add aml those other things if it makes you feel better. Ref can be written by your manager if HR declines. Ideally should be from the employer. The manager can add their call card and ID and only use company letterhead if they are authorised. Hope your JD matches NOC duties.

4. You can move the BSc to personal history if there is no ECA for it. Same as WE you are not claiming CRS points for. MSc will be repeated in personal history also. Personal history is EVERYTHING from the last 10 years.

I have some post ITA questions please
1. I have my funds saved on a joint account with Revolut for POF. but the bank doesn't issue reference letter, my salary account is Lloyds bank but I always send 75% of my earnings to the Revolut(joint acct) every month so the balance on Lloyds at the moment wont be sufficient. should I go ahead and use the Revolut bank statement or I should move the money to Lloyds bank and write LOE?

2.I read that the medical is not mandatory at the time of submission, but can I go ahead and do the medical ahead anyways?

3.Must the work reference be written by the HR? or direct supervisor can write the reference?
Also if the reference letter contains all the details, do I need to attach payslip, employment letter and bank statement highlighting salary inflow

4. In the study and language section, do I need to include all my education or just the highest one M.Sc. which was evaluated and every other one in the personal history just as it was suggested for work experience?
prior to receiving ITA, I had my MSc and BSc in that section and it was carried forward post ITA but i am considering deleting the BSc and only including it in my personal history

My friend is attempting to get tourist Visa to a Schengen country, one of the requirements is proof of employment.
He have tried with Offer Letter but it got rejected, when asked at workplace nobody seems to have Employment Contract either.
When asked directly his boss, he is being told that there is only offer letter.

Are they trying to gaslight him or is it common practice to only get an offer letter ?

Offer letter requires you to respond, accepting the offer. Then you get an employment contract stating your hours of work, pay rate and probation period and others. In most case, you will have all the information already on the offer letter but you need an employment letter or reference letter from work for visa purposes.

If you are going there to look for job, it's definitely a NO..even natives are looking for job, all their university websites and agents will tell you they don't have jobs so you don't end up disappointed. If you have enough money to setup a business or you are a freelancer that just need a nice country to work from remotely then you can consider going because the internet is cheap and super fast, electricity won't be a problem anymore, the rent is cheap and cost of living is low.

A friend introduced me to an agent here in Nigeria and the agent said he is going to get me japan visa for 350k, according to the agent he said I will be going for Olympics and from there I can Japa after the Olympics and find my way. but my fear is i don't know anyone in Japan and the agent as well said he doesn't know anyone there.

This is a very bad idea. Do not try it..you will have to hide for the rest of your stay and cant get any decent job..

include Germany as well. And avoid using agents for any process. Check nairaland threads and dedicate about two weeks to read and understand rhe application process. Agents will mess you up the more.
