Saying that touch is assult will make it difficult to reverse the punishment. How dare you as a student make video on the walkway infront of a lecturer. He tapped you by saying excuse me. Infact during my days in Futo, my late prof. Okoroafor will hold you by the ear and drop you near by. How dare you stay on his way doing such nonsense. Leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, was insisting on presiding over his trial due to corruption cases involving her husband and son. Kanu made the claims on Monday while appearing in court for the continuation of his trial. In a viral video on social media, Kanu is heard accusing the judge of using her position for personal gain. “Justice Binta Nyako is using her position for personal gain. Her son and her husband are facing corruption charges. And they (the Nigerian government) told them that if they convict me, they will free the son and the husband,” Kanu alleged. Although he did not provide details of the alleged cases, it is widely known that Murtala Nyako, a former governor of Adamawa State, and his son, Senator Abdulaziz Nyako, were being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N29 billion fraud case. Recall that Justice Nyako had previously announced her recusal from Kanu’s case following allegations of bias, but the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court later reassigned the case to her, sparking further protests from Kanu’s legal team. During Monday’s court session, Kanu insisted that Nyako had disobeyed a Supreme Court ruling that restored his bail. “There’s a breach of judicial oath. They have violated their judicial oath because they have shown bias, according to the Supreme Court,” he said. He further questioned the insistence on his trial, arguing that the government had no case against him. “A court order was entered. It was said clearly and succinctly that she (Justice Nyako) is no longer going to try me. Why are they insisting? Because they have no case against me, and they know it.” Kanu also challenged the authority of the Chief Judge to reassign his case to Justtice Nyako despite her earlier withdrawal. “This is a federal gazetted law of Nigeria that says the Chief Judge of Nigeria cannot tell Binta Nyako what to do,” he said while waving documents in court. He further declared that he no longer recognised the court’s authority over him. “She stands recused from my case and cannot try me. I came here out of courtesy and respect,” Kanu asserted. The IPOB leader, who has been in detention since his arrest and extradition from Kenya in 2021, reiterated his stance on Biafra’s independence. “I am agitating for Biafra because I have the right to do so,” he stated. Kanu was first arrested in 2015 under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. In 2022, the Court of Appeal ruled that his extradition from Kenya was illegal and ordered his release. However, the Federal government refused to comply, arguing that his release could escalate insecurity in the South-East. The government later appealed the ruling, and in December 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the lower court’s decision, ordering the continuation of Kanu’s trial. https://leadership.ng/kanu-alleges-plot-to-jail-him-in-exchange-for-judges-family-freedom/ |

A PhD student at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Archaeology, Stanley Onyemechalu, has been recognised for his Legacies of Biafra Heritage Project. According to an article published by the department on Monday, Onyemechalu was recently named runner-up in the Early Career Researcher category at the Cambridge Awards for Research Impact and Engagement. Onyemechalu’s project reportedly engaged both young and old in Enugu, south-eastern Nigeria, through creative artistic expressions. “Through workshops and an exhibition, the project aimed to promote intergenerational dialogue and historical awareness on the legacies of the Nigeria-Biafra war, a sensitive part of people’s collective history that has been suppressed by successive Nigerian governments,” the article read. “I am honoured to have received this important recognition from the University of Cambridge for my work with communities in south-eastern Nigeria,” Onyemechalu was quoted as saying. He added, “I am grateful to my collaborators at the Centre for Memories in Enugu, Nigeria, including the project volunteers and participants; my supervisor, Dr Dacia Viejo-Rose, and colleagues at the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre; as well as the Public Engagement team at the University of Cambridge. “I would also like to thank the Royal Anthropological Institute, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, and the University’s Public Engagement Starter Fund for supporting the project.” Onyemechalu’s award was part of a wider celebration of research excellence at Cambridge. Professor Gilly Carr, a researcher at the Institute of Continuing Education and the Department of Archaeology, was also recognised as runner-up in the Established Academic category for her work on The Safeguarding Sites Project, while Dr Nik Petek-Sargeant, a scholar at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, was similarly honoured as a runner-up in the Early Career Researcher category for his Historical East African Archaeology and Theory Project. The Cambridge Awards for Research Impact and Engagement are reportedly presented annually to celebrate innovative research approaches that have significant social, cultural, and academic impact. “The awards, presented by Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Prentice and Professor Sir John Aston FRS, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, recognise innovative practices and partnership working across the engagement, knowledge exchange, and impact space,” the article noted. https://punchng.com/cambridge-honours-nigerian-phd-student-for-biafra-heritage-project/ |

I am not Apc. Uzodimma doesn't make noise about many projects he is executing. Though Governors are Chief security Officers, i can not use insecurity to rate any Governor or President. Politicians are desparate, it takes only money for your opponent or enemy to hire killers to continue on killing rampage. Uzodimma road projects is putting food on my table, by enabling smooth business. Owerri do not observe sit at home. Uzodimma is a silent achiever. I stoped puting my trust on only innocent looking Governors when Udenwa performed. 5 Likes 1 Share |

My guy you tried offering 2k to view your status. That guy is either lazy or greedy. I remember paid surveys of 0.002 dollars offered by foreign websites, even my adsense had 0.12 dollars for a blog that had been running for years. I decided to run direct advert on my forum. Soon i will start paying 1k for any business that registers and creates a topic about their business. 1 Like |
