Rita Chinedu Ukeje V Sharia

Madam Jessy Ukeje, a 77-year-old grandmother from Eluoma Uzuakoli in Bende Local government area of Abia State, is in pains her granddaughter was given out in marriage by a top official of Zaria City Local Government area, without the consent of her family.Rita, an SS 3 student of Top Spring Secondary School, Zaria, Kaduna State, was abducted by a commercial bus driver, called Usman, who held her captive in his home, denying her the chance of sitting for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) she had enrolled for.

Few weeks later, she stated, the council chief, who took her to his home and promised to make her available for settlement with the family, allegedly gave her out in marriage to Usman. The incident happened in Damagaji area of Zaria in Kaduna State, even as every effort made by the family to rescue the teenage girl from the clutches of her abductors have met with stiff resistance from the kidnappers. They took her into captivity after undergoing their Muslim rituals of bathing and feeding her with concoction as a way of turning her into a Muslim.

Then, they gave her to somebody to marry without the consent and knowledge of her parents. This is certainly against religion and against tradition

Mama Jessy, who could not hold back tears while narrating the abduction of the girl in her house in Eluoma Uzuakoli, alleged further that the girl’s abductors are after Rita’s mother, Joy Ihedinma Ukeje, for insisting that Rita must be sent back to her. She alleged that they had been sending assassins to her, forcing her to quickly run back to Uzuakoli from Zaria after several attempts on her life.

Ifeoma Nichodemus v The Sharia Court Kaduna

IFEOMA, now Aisha, is the daughter of Mr. Ndubuisi Nichodemus. She was living with her parents, in the midst of the Hausa community in Zaria, Kaduna State, until May, 2014. On that fateful evening, Ifeoma had left the house in protest against the authority of her mother to question her for returning late to the house on the day. She simply walked out of her parents’ compound into a neighbour’s house, and since 21 months ago to be precise, the family is yet to set their eyes on her. Ifeoma, now 16, have been converted to Islam and married off. The Sharia Court handling the matter keeps adjourning the case and as a result, we are still where we were last year”
Speaking during an interview then, Ndubuisi Nichodemus, resident of Sabon-Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State, who appealed to the authorities concerned, to help rescue his daughter, allegedly in the custody of another man since 2014, said her daughter had come home late on that fateful day and felt, as responsible parents, she should be scolded

Evans: The Hypocrisy Of Police IG & The Kidnap Of Children In the North

Recently a ranking member on Parliament's ForeignAffairs Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has faulted the Nigerian Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Kpotoun Idris, for his public revelations on the notorious Nigerian kidnapper for sharing too much with public. Mr Ablakwa told Joy News Tuesday that he “really would have wished that the Nigerian IGP did not put all the information as publicly as he did.”

This underscores the professional standards of the Nigeria Police Force. It is widely known that Security service share information to enable further arrest of suspects but the manner in which the IGP disclosed information to the media enables other suspect to plot their escape.

Further, many people have called for the release of Evans due to the double standard of the Nigerian Police Police towards numeriopus cases of Child kidnap. In an originating Motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/69/2017, the victim claimed the following reliefs:

Wat Evans did is a lesser evil when compared to the Kidnap of the girl child fopr sexual gratification, molestation, forced marriage and islamisation. The perpetrators deprive the child of education and right to family life for the sake of their sexual pleasure.

MISS ROSE PETER CHUKWU went missing some time in 2010 when she was last seen by her family. It was only in 2016 that the family of our client got a call from her whereupon she narrated her ordeal in the hands of one ALHAJI OLATUNJI SULYMAN whom she went to visit in Ilorin Kwara State and never returned.

In miraculous twist of fate, mid January, 2017, the girl escaped from the gulag of her captors and her family members who reside in the F.C.T. decided to relocate her to the Eastern part of the country for the safety of her life. However, in what appears to be a dangerous collusion between the her captor and the F.C.T. Commissioner of Police, the young girl was picked up in Enugu on Wednesday 25th January, 2017 and hauled back to Abuja by a team of police officers deployed from Abuja by the F.C.T. Police Commissioner.

Sensing the imminent threat to her life, the family Lawyer intervened by petitioning the Inspector-General of Police and equally filing a Fundamental Rights Action before the Federal High Court where the victim is seeking the damage of One Hundred and Fifty Million (150, 000, 000.00) damages both against the Police and her captor.

In an originating Motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/69/2017, the victim claimed the following reliefs:

1. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court commanding the 2nd Respondent to pay to the Applicant the sum of One Hundred Million Naira (100, 000,000.00) as damages for the wasted years of her life arising from her unlawful imprisonment, degradation of her humanity and worth in the society, loss of a good marital life which she could have enjoyed, incalculable psychological trauma, loss of a better standard of living if she had the freedom to pursue her higher education and many other irreversible losses visited on the Applicant by the inhuman conducts of the 2nd Respondent herein.

2.AN ORDER of this Honourable Court commanding the 1st , 3rd and 4th Respondents jointly and severally to pay the exemplary damages of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (150, 000,000.00) to the Applicant for the their collusion with the 2nd Respondent to overrun the constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights of the Applicant in harassing, intimidating and abduction of the Applicant from her Enugu residence with the purpose of foisting on the Applicant the Islamic religion and Islamic marriage contrary to her conscience and exercise of free will.

3.A SOLEMN DECLARATION of this Honourable Court that the unlawful captivity, servitude, isolation from family and relatives foisted on the Applicant by the 2nd Respondent herein, between the year 2010 and 2016, particularly as described in paragraph (4) of the affidavit evidence accompanying the Originating Motion, is a gross violation of the Applicant’s right to dignity of human person trenchantly guaranteed under section 34 (1) (a)and (b) of the Amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

4. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court restraining the Defendants jointly and severally, either by themselves or through their surrogates, agents, privies, assigns or any other person howsoever described acting on their behalf from attempting to abduct the Applicant for the purposes of forcefully taking her into captivity and servitude under the control of the 2nd Defendant.

5. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court restraining the Defendants jointly and severally, either by themselves or through their surrogates, agents, privies, assigns or any other person howsoever described acting on their behalf from further attempting to abduct the Applicant for the purposes of forcefully re-converting her to the Islamic religion and foisting the Islamic marriage on the Applicant (contrary to her consent and exercise of her free will) for the benefit of either the 2nd Defendant herein or any other person either in Kwara State or any part of the Federation.

I have no business with Ijaws or whatever you and your people have deluded yourselves to believe about them. Ijaw is not synonymous with the Niger Delta. There are well over 20 ethnic groups in the region and should even the Ijaws have a choice, you really think they would choose Biafra over Niger Delta Republic?

Just restrict your delusions to yourselves and respect the wishes of the minorities that have come out to denounce their forceful inclusion into Biafra.

Whatever it is you wish us; I wish you and your Biafra 10 times over. Just leave us be.

Us ke? Have Urhobo ever fought any war in NigerDelta?

Is it not Ijaw fighting all the war, rather Urhobo even sabotage them.

This is a no-brainer. The triad of Hausa, IGBO and Yoruba are in control of the oil wells belonging to the minorities. And we know exactly who the oil well owners are: the IFEANYI Ubas, the Tony ELUMELUS, the Femi Otedolas, the Folurunso Alakijas, the Theophilus Danjumas, etc.

So you Igbo should not act like you are not part of the exploitation and rape of the minorities. We know the truth and we know exactly what to do when the time comes.

Nonentity, y dont u come out and lead NigerDelta?

U are hiding behind moniker.

There is no NigerDelta, the name say na Igbo man invention.

It really is dat simple with us IPOB, u dont want Biafra, get lost.

However, u will find that the problem is dey dont want to join Biafra and dont want Biafra.

Hence to get out is a problem.

Then they start to threaten Biafra existence with war.

In that case, go and get ready for the War, we have taken note of the Oct 1st 2017 date.

We have equally responded and made clear that we shall only leave once Biafra is granted a referendum in line with International law as was the case with South Sudan.

[s]You are not an Urhobo. Stop lying mister. Ekuoto vor oyi vwon nurhe?

Beside, if you don't know something just say you don't and ask to be educated. The struggle is real and has taken various dimensions. The exploitation of the the SS oil is not only by Fulanis but by all the ethnic groups in Nigeria that rely on oil for development. They are all leeches (yes, including the Igbo) and must be cut out from our lands and sovereignty.

So I don't really care what you think or what you subscribe to but Urhobo will NEVER join Biafra, not today, not ever. Should it get to the point where we must secede, we shall agitate for our own nation (Ejadiovo Republic) or form a coalition with ethnicities that share our plights in the SS (Niger Delta Republic). No group can be oppressed forever! The injustice meted out on the minorities by the triad of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba shall end soon enough with the rising level of Urhobo and SS nationalism!

Btw: Stop impersonating Urhobo angry
Urhobo ko, Ukwuani ni! When UPU and our very own Sen. Omo-Agege have spoken conclusively on this Biafran issue? Mtchewwww! [/s]

We only have different groups pleading on TV and radio for restructuring and nothing more. You're in a delusion. If you must know I'm from Ughelli in Delta State and lived in the SS for over twenty years. The Nigerian Delta struggle for Economic control currently has no solid face. dey their make pant they wear u. Fulanis control all the oil wells in urhobo land and u dey hear dey form poosh!

We dont need Urhobo for nothing. So if u are not Urhobo dont bother with that level of desperation.

Wat IPOB have said is that we will invite neighbouring groups at an appropriate time.

Other groups like Tiv and Yoruba can invite demselves. Everybody will lay their concern on the table and we come up with an agreement.

Yoruba know how dey destroyed the South and especially the SS/SE. if they must join they must tender apology and swear never to repeat the same again. As for the middle-belt it is not really their fault, becos they were joined to the North.

Right now, we have not reached that bridge. Urhobo are way too insignificant to take up our time or effort, please stop giving the impression to that idiot that they are a priority, wen dey are not.

Dude, this is the problem here. Once you do not support a divided Nigeria then you are an Afonja. I can't imagin how many people try to tell me where I am from becos I do not support this. It's my view and I have my reason.

I see your point and it's true that Nigeria will NEVER allow biafra go without a serious fight and Nigeria has superior weapon and allies. Anyways, me nor want war because it will be devastating for everyone of us. People will loose loved ones for sure. If kanu shout or insult without encroachment there won't be issues as Nigerian government will allow him make all the noise without arresting him but if they take it to another level which is trying to force biafra as ojukwu did, trust me the army will attack.

If kanu wait on government for referendum it will never happen and the worst he can do is disconnect the SE from Nigeria (Economically) but that will be terrible as it will lead to war; then he would have committed a crime. The height of this agitation is that they should try to print biafra money, then suspend naira in the entire SE and see what I'm saying. Ojukwu went that far, yet una sey Na coward.

According to my mum, all our farmlands were filled with empty bullets during the last civil war. All the people shouting we go to war, they don't even know if biafra will win the war but they would have died for nothing. You can't determine the out come of war.

Personally, I prefer national conference!!

UN Resolution will force a referendum if Nigeria Government violates International law in handling of Biafra Agitation.

Already the quit notice is like an own-goal. The UN/ICC took notice of dat. Biafra agitation is not illegal. Nigeria own court said IPOB is not an Illegal organisation.

As for the fantasy u wrote up there, IPOB is guided by international best intelligence, dictating their every step in accordance with international law.

Biafra has gained grounds, thanks to Nigeria penchant habit of Human Rights violation.
