Thanks for engaging that little boy who knows nothing.

How can any sane person reject such a laudable project. They see everything Buhari tries to do for our people as wrong. Hate can drive people crazy.

Echi ha asi n'onweghi ihe Buhari mere anyi. These same silly little boys are the ones who will come out and defend lgbo politicians who receive Federal contracts on behalf of our people and siphon the money without anything on ground. If we desperately need a seaport, why can't our Governors take the initiative like Ayade & Akwa Ibom is doing?

A seaport is under federal list not state governors.

People want to talk but have very little idea.

Will the federal governmnet ever approve such for SE?

BEST WAY FORWARD IS FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH TO CONSTRUCT IT.

Another disturbing traits common to my brothers- always refering to everybody as yoruba.
We also need to stop lumping the SS together. Is cross river state not in the SS? Is Prof Ben Ayade not currently building the Bakassi Deep Sea Port in Cross River. If the Cross River state Government can attempt to build a seaport for themself what stops our Governors in the south east too? If the Lagos sate Government can attratct Foreign Investors(dangote) to build a seaport for them, what stops our Governors from attaracting investors to Alaigbo that would also help us build a seaport based on a PPP? Dont we have enough billionares in Igboland that can single handedly build a seaport - Arthur Eze, Ifeany Ubah, Orji Kalu, Ibeto etc. Would we just continue to whine and blame others while we can determine our own fate by ourselves instead of the FG

Am not your brother Oooo! I dont know who u are. This is a faceless site and moniker dont mean anything.

SS/SE deserve their fair share of Federal project. Our oil money is not all for Northern project and Lagos. I repeat.

What is the need of second Niger bridge and the supposed coastal railway without a deep sea in the region?

It is all about one way traffic, capital flight, unbalanced trade and economics where Western region develops at the detriment of their Eastern counterpart.

Thank u for that contribution. The second niger bridge will lessen the burden on the Niger Bridge.

The railway project has no economic benefit to the SS/SE, it will not add anything to the GDP of Nigeria.

A deepseaport will not only provide employment but a source of earning foreign currency through trade and commerce.

The government should invest wisely.

It'll be cheaper to move your containers and goods anywhere in any part of the country that's convenience

Everything Buhari has done so far is literally to show Ibos he's for everybody

But now again they want seaport

He did not give you Niger Bridge

He signed $20B deal to build refinery in your region, but nothing came out of it

Stop deceiving yourself kiddo. The SE is landlocked, we dont have to be be ashmed about that. Dangote is building a seaport in Lagos, Prof Ben Ayade is building a seaport in Cross river. If our region has access to the sea, what has stopped our governors from embarking on joint regional projects to construct a port or better still invite a private consortium for that pourpose and build it with a PPP. The true of the matter is simple - SE is landlocked

The yoruba man burden. Always giving advice that was not requested.

We are Nigerians and the Federal Government should make sure that the SS/SE are carried along.

Our resources should not be used for the North alone and Lagos.

Projects should be shared equally.

What is their to appreciate in a train line? We dont need it, we have roads.

If the Federal government want to improve Nigeria Economy, they should bring deep seaport to either port harcourt or Abia.

Alternatively, channel the fund to suppoprt Ibaka deep seaport construction in Akwa Ibom.

With 60B A DEEP Seaport can be built in Port Harcourt.

Abia deep seaport would require land reclamation from the sea and bridges.

This is the only project that can add value to Nigeria GDP

Dude speak for yourself. Abia has access to the sea via the blue river.

All we actually need is land reclamation from the Sea and we build a seaport connected by a bridge to Abia and the whole SE.

Politics / Anger Over DSS' Report On Killing Of Herdsmen In Abia by Stolen: 10:18am On Apr 11, 2016
http://www.authorityngr.com/2016/04/Anger-over-DSS-report-on-killing-of-herdsmen-in-Abia/

By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, Steve Oko and Isaac Ojo On 11/04/2016 05:24:15 AM Share Anger over DSS' report on killing of herdsmen in Abia
· Herdsmen pose a threat to national security - Gov Ikpeazu
· Report targeted at Kanu, say IPOB, MASSOB

Anger on Sunday trailed a report by the Department of State Security (DSS) that members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) were responsible for the abduction and killing of five Fulani herdsmen in Isuikwuato area of Abia State.
In separate reactions, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, IPOB, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Intersociety, described the report as misleading and unprofessional.
In fact, IPOB and MASSOB claimed that the Federal Government, through the DSS, rushed to issue the report to incriminate detained Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The DSS had accused IPOB and MASSOB members of killing the Fulani herdsmen and burying them in shallow graves in Isuikwuato.
Governor Ikpeazu warned that the herdsmen pose a serious security threat to Nigeria and called for quick measures to curb their excesses “before it becomes too late.”
In a statement he issued on Sunday, Governor Ikpeazu expressed sadness over the claims by the DSS in Abuja, when there was no report to that effect emanating from the security agencies including police and the DSS in the state.
Through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Godwin Adindu, the governor said there was no report “either from the police or the Army or even the DSS itself in Abia State” to authenticate the claims form the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
He wondered why “the DSS in Abuja and some sections of the media could not confirm from their men on ground before going to the public.”
Ikpeazu said: “I just spoke to the state Director of DSS and he denied knowledge of any such development.”
He expressed worry that the DSS’ action could spark off ethnic tensions across the country if not properly managed by all stakeholders.
Ikpeazu insisted that a crime of such magnitude could not have taken place in Abia without any security report from the State Security Council.
Earlier, at a three-day workshop at the National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike, the governor decried the atrocities of herdsmen in the state and other parts of the South East zone.
“The menace and nuisance of cattle rearers has become a major security challenge in Nigeria”, he warned.
Represented at the event by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Uzor Azubuike, the governor said that time had come when states should secure grazing fields in their localities and hand them over to the Federal Government to avert clashes between farmers and cattle rearers.
The governor described as ridiculous the Federal Government’s plans to import grass from Brazil for cattle when Nigeria can supply the grass needs of the world.
He revealed that the state had already set up a committee to help settle the herdsmen/ farmers’ crisis to avoid a repeat of the “Agatu experience”.
“We won’t allow what is happening in Agatu and other parts of the North to happen here,” Ikpeazu warned.
On their part, IPOB and MASSOB described the DSS’ allegation as a ploy by the Federal Government to nail Kanu.
They denied any involvement in the said abduction and killing of the herdsmen, maintaining that their non-violent stance in the struggle for self- rule had not changed.
IPOB Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, told The AUTHORITY that the allegation was part of the DSS’ desperation to brand IPOB as a terror group so as to justify the continued brutalisation of its members.
He said: “Killing is not on the agenda of IPOB because we are not criminals or a terrorist organisation but a responsible and organised freedom seeking group recognised by the United Nations (UN)”.
He continued: “IPOB has never for once planned to attack anybody because what we are pursuing is more than killing herdsmen. We are pursuing the restoration of Biafra; we are not after Hausa or Fulani people. We are not part of any abduction or killing of herdsmen. We are not kidnappers. We are mature.”
MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, dismissed the report as “lacking merit and evidence because MASSOB and IPOB are non-violent organisations”.
He said: “This is the highest frustration exhibited by Nigerian security agencies against Biafra agitators to blackmail them as violent and terrorists so as to see evidence against Nnamdi Kanu.
“Why have they not raised eyebrows on several killings and destruction of lives and property by Fulani herdsmen in the past?” MASSOB queried.
He said neither MASSOB nor IPOB will be deterred or jittery because of “frivolous and baseless allegation of the DSS.”
To the International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety) the DSS had exposed itself as biased in its report.
Intersociety, in a statement by its Board Chairman, Emeka Umeagbalasi and Obianuju Joy Igboeli, Head, Civil Liberties and Rule of Law Programme, insisted that “the DSS account is also not reliable.”

By Alphonsus Nweze On 10/04/2016 05:39:24 AM Share IPOB Killings: Group demands prosecution of Buratai, Arase, others
The International Criminal Court of Justice has been asked to issue warrants of arrest on Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase for their roles in the alleged cold-blooded murder of over 80 members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) from November 2015 to date.

A pro-democracy and human rights group, International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), which made the demand also wants the Commander of 302 Onitsha Military Cantonment, Col. Issah Abdullahi and the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Hosea Karma, among others similarly arrested.

In a statement made available to the AUTHORITY on Sunday yesterday in Onitsha, the group also asked the international community to conduct investigations into the dastardly acts of “butchering unarmed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)”.

It said, “The Buhari administration must stop the on-going ethnic cleansing and mass murder of unarmed and non-violent members of Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria and refrain from pushing the innocent race to the wall”.
Intersociety in the statement signed by its Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Emeka Umeagbalasi, called on the international community, local and international human rights and media groups to mount and sustain intensive pressures on the authorities of the Nigerian Army and Onitsha Military Cantonment in particular to disclose where they dumped the corpses of other IPOB/pro-biafran activists, allegedly abducted, shot and murdered alongside late citizens Michael Nweke, Peter Chukwuma Nwankwo and Matthew Kanu on December 17, 2015 at Onitsha Niger Bridgehead.

“We also demand for the immediate and unconditional release of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu and others standing Kangaroo trials and political persecutions with him as well as 20 IPOB officials and members dumped at Umuahia prisons before and since February 9, 2016”, the group said.
Intersociety declared that the continued detention of women, particularly nursing mothers among them, amounted to a serious affront to the principles and purposes of the United Nations as well as the basic standards of the international law and humanitarian principles.

For the leader of alleged abductors to have been unsure of how that girl was taken away without the consent of her mother is negligent which is purnishable on their parts on how legit they said their operations had been cos i dont know when converting from religion to another is now covert. Are they NGO? No! In the other hand, our state govts should be pro-active in making sure they try their best to ensure basic need for its citizenry. there are alot of vulnerable children out there, no wonder some Apc states govts forsee these problems and made a provision for free education and feeding of these pupils at the basic level atleast alleviated parents sufferings, even though some states plunges into indebtedness, it's better to try and fail atleast thinking along with the hoi polloi will be appreciated to some extent.

Organised crime sponsored by the Emir of Kano.

Sanusi want to enslave christian children.(the girl child.)

All the children from Bayelsa, Abuja, Benue etc are Christian converted into sex slave. This is the same thing ISIS does in the Middle East.

Religion has nothing to do with criminality. Kidnap, Rape, Force Islamisation and marriage is a crime.

They even use government budget & agency. Our own oil money to afflict our children.

All this started since that pedophile Sanusi became Emir.

I just hope Sanusi would not be the person to burn down the palace of the Emir.

Buhari cannot be President forever. Leave our children alone.

There is nothing like igbo muslim, nothing to prove Sanusi sponsored delegation are even igbo.

Sanusi we will soon burn down your palace arrest/jail u and throw away the key. Power will always change hands.

How we abducted Ifesinachi - suspects
By Malachy Uzendu and Hassan Zaggi On 03/04/2016 04:32:48 AM Share How we abducted Ifesinachi - suspects
· Our cartel is unstoppable

The abduction of the 14-year old Ifesinachi Ani, a Secondary School (SS) 2 student of Government Secondary School, Apo Resettlement, Abuja, six months ago, took a new twist as her abductors made chilling revelations on their modus operandi.
This is even as The AUTHORITY on Sunday gathered that the major linkman to the abductors, one Baba Abdul, has been released from police detention, fuelling speculation of pressure on the police from powerful quarters.
The AUTHORITY had disclosed yesterday how Baba Abdul’s wife severally threatened to deal with Ifesinachi’s mother whenever her husband is released.
Ifesinachi’s mother who ran to our office out of fear for her life, informed us that ever since this medium made the abduction of her daughter public, several people have been coming to nearby Baba Abdul’s residence, telling her that they will deal with her and also pointing fingers at her residence.

Over the weekend, some persons claiming to be members of the Igbo Muslim Community based in Kano State denied abducting Ifesinachi, insisting they merely took her to Kano in order to protect her from persecution by her mother because she “converted” to Islam.
The revelations were uncovered when the Igbo Muslims led by their acclaimed patron, Mohammed Suleiman, came in their numbers to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in solidarity with the abductors who were moved from the Central Police Station, Uwani, Enugu to Abuja.
Suleiman, who claimed to be an indigene of Osu Local Government Area of Imo State, gave his Igbo name as Ike Ezenwa, and appears to be in his late 50s. He said he was converted to Islam in Kazaure, Jigawa State in 1993.
Also on the delegation was another claimant to the post of Secretary of the body, one Nur Azubuike Onuora. He claims to be an indigene of Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State; and one Sadiya Mohammed whose Igbo name is Angelene Ude, an indigene of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and said to be the mother of Igbo Muslim Community in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Also in the delegation was the kingpin of the Igbo Muslin Community in Kano, Hajiya Ibrahim who claims to be Igbo. She is said to be the financier and caretaker of all Igbo Muslim converts in Kano.
The AUTHORITY on Sunday could not, however ascertain the Igbo name of one of the ladies whose name was simply given as Amina and her state of origin as she was busy responding to questions from investigators.
Findings by our reporters shows that she is a successful business woman and pays the school fees of all Igbo young girls who allegedly claim to have converted to Islam through whatever means and also claims to be responsible for taking care of them before they grow up to maturity and become independent either by getting married or starting up their own businesses.
Speaking with The AUTHORITY on Sunday at the FCT Police Command, the Patron of the group, Suleiman, said that the story making the rounds that Ifeasinachi was abducted was not true although he could not explain how a teenager disappeared and emerged as a converted Muslim without the consent of her mother who was training her in school.
He could also not explain why their scouts usually surreptitiously meet at Baba Abdul’s residence at Apo, where he accepted they met the girl, before taking her to an undisclosed mosque in Mararaba, another part of Abuja, before finally moving her to Kano still without the consent or knowledge of her mother.
But maintaining his line of argument, Suleiman told our reporter that “when Ifesinachi saw the light and converted to Islam, she was persecuted by her mother and she even threatened to kill her”.
Asked how they got the audacity to call a women whose child disappeared, telling her not to worry, he could not offer any explanation but in stout defence of their woman leader, he said “we don’t know who gave her (Ifesinachi) the phone number of our mother in Kano (Hajiya Amina) and she told her that her mother wanted to kill her because she decided to become a Muslim.
“Our mother (referring to Hajiya Amina) then came to Abuja and picked her up from Mararaba where she was hiding and took her to Kano for safekeeping.
“When she took her to Kano, she enrolled her in a private school and paid her school fees amounting to N11,000”, thus confirming our earlier stories that the syndicate runs an abduction school.
He however, could also not explain why they did not deem it fit to contact the police over the purported threat to the life of Ifesinachi as claimed and why they still did not get back to the exasperated mother and discuss or obtain her consent before deciding to keep the girl with them, until they saw the stories being published in The AUTHORITY newspapers.
When asked if Ifeasinachi was the only girl collected by Hajiya Amina, the patron of the body said “God has blessed her business so she takes care of any Igbo young girl who converts to Islam. She has taken care of uncountable number of girls from our part of the country. There are several of them”.
Sulaiman disclosed that there are over 2000 Igbo Muslims in Kano and that they are doing well.
Sounding unrepentant and in proof that Ifesinachi’s case was not just peripheral, he added that “since we have discovered that Islam is the true religion, we are going to launch a massive campaign so that our people will join us to this religion”.
He added that the group learnt that the media were awash with “insinuations” that Ifeasinachi was abducted, which was why they sent the delegation to take her to her parents, but did not explain why they took her to Enugu rather than Abuja where they took her from.
He said that inspite of media and public condemnation of their actions, “Insha Allah, we will overcome this”.
Providing insight into how they obtained the services of two lawyers who seem to be enjoying VIP treatment at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the FCT Command, he claimed that the lawyers were being sponsored by the Kastina State Branch of the Igbo Muslim Community.
On her part, one Angelene who claimed that her Muslim name is Sadiya, disclosed that she came to represent the Zaria Branch of the Igbo Muslim Community in the matter.
According to her, “I was taken to the North when I was very young; grew up there and got married and I now have several children (she does not know the number)”.
Sadiya, who does not seem to be perturbed by what her group did, expressed the confidence that she and her colleagues will be vindicated at the end of the day.
However, our sources informed us that the so-called Igbo delegates were being sponsored by some powerful forces who had already assured them that they would neither be found culpable of any misdemeanor nor prosecuted for taking a minor away from her parents or converting her to Islam.
Our team of investigators could also not ascertain whether or not any of the suspects stayed back at the command headquarters as sources informed us that immediately the team of lawyers from the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) left the place, all the suspects and Ifesinachi were released on self-recognition and asked to come back next week Monday.
We further learnt that they all moved to a mosque somewhere in Mararaba in nearby Nasarawa State, which is where they have been operating from.
•OBSERVATIONS
IFESINACHI: Lanky frail-looking Ifesinachi, who adorned traditional long skirt with white head tie which she used to wrap her head and shoulders, behaved like a person under hypnotism when The AUTHORITY on Sunday saw her.
She was however given special treatment by the delegation of so-called ‘brothers’, who ran helter skelter whenever she requested for anything, like when she wanted to visit the convenience.
On sighting her mother, Ifesinachi looked unperturbed and sat firmly on the chair provided for her by the Investigating Police Officers (IPOs), but stared at the floor.
When her mother asked her if she recognized her, Ifesinachi responded in the affirmative, calling her ‘my mother’.
She however, tried frantically to exonerate Baba Abdul from any form of complicity in the abduction saga, insisting that she was never abducted.
She also told her mother that she was born in 1999, and not in 2001 as stated by her mother, which led to argument between them.
Ifesinachi, maintained that “I have seen the light” and was being harassed by the news media publications reporting that she was abducted and forcefully converted to Islam.
When she was informed that the Enugu State Government offered her scholarship, full social security and medicare, she said she would prefer to continue with her Islamic studies and that she has nothing to do with her mother, who she accused of maltreating her.

IFESINACHI’S FATHER:
He was at the FCT Police Command and informed our reporters that he was being taken care of by the Islamic Community delegation from Kano and that they have been staying at the mosque in Mararaba and come to the police headquarters along with them.
He was more interested in discussing marital dispute between him and Ifesinachi’s mother and seemed less interested in what was happening to his daughter.
When asked why he failed to look for his daughter since information got to him that she had been abducted, he told The AUTHORITY on Sunday that “since the woman said she would remain in Abuja, it is up to her and so, this issue is her business”.
He however could not offer any intelligible plans for the future of his daughter but was grateful to the Enugu State Government’s intervention and offer of scholarship to her.
IFESINACHI’S MOTHER: Mrs. Rachael Ani, mother of the abducted girl, was dumbfounded seeing her daughter dressed like a Muslim. She was also shocked that her daughter “is looking at me morosely and I have no doubt she is under a spell.
“My daughter, who has been with me since birth has been made to even engage me in argument over her date of birth. I was shocked she could pretend to be more accustomed to complete strangers than me, her biological mother.

“Although she acknowledged I am her mother, you could see that she did not behave as if I was her mother, who has been looking for her for over six months when she saw me enter the police office.
“At least, I am grateful to God for rescuing my daughter from the hands of her abductors. I am very grateful to the management and editors of The AUTHORITY newspapers and other journalists who have assisted me to publicise my cries. God will reward all of you.
“As for the Enugu State Governor, I lack words to express my joys over the scholarship offered my daughter. I want government to also assist me because I can see clearly that I am being intimidated by this cartel of abductors. They are bold, daring and have been threatening to deal with me.
“I don’t even understand why they would still be the ones taking care of my daughter when they should have all been languishing in the prison. The Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police should not let them go scot-free. If they do, these people will wreck several other families as we heard them boast they will do. I am grateful to these officers for assisting me. God will bless them. As for the other officers, I don’t know what to say,” she stated.

Refusing to comment on the issues raised by Mr. Sunday Ani who she maintained is her husband’s senior brother, she however, lamented that her daughter’s abductors were taking advantage of the poverty in her family to torment them and bring disaffection into her family, pointing out that God will take control and resolve all those problems.

I see no need for the outrage. Is Biafra no longer achievable? At least when Biafrans have all succeeded in moving back home,it would now be to bomb the current bridge to prevent Nigerians from reaching them. That is the major boundry between Nigeria and Biafra *winks*

U are delusional, i pity u becos both sw and north is a long way away from Asaba and Onitsha.
