@onegentleguy I am beginning to think that you are using this forum to promote your holdings but disguised as trading advice/ information . My worry is that newbies might get burnt believing you wholeheartedly. Let us be our brothers' keepers and learn how to leverage our optimism.

Some stocks followed Fidelity without carrying reserve fuel!
Fidelity is now using fuel inside reserve tank (Fundamentals).
I think they burnt their top gaskets. One of the dangers of over-revving an engine running on adulterated roadside oil. cheesy

it's one thing to make money and it's another thing for the money to remain with you. For money to remain with you, a priest somewhere must be eating your money. Either devilish or Godly priest. No doubt about that.

Pay your tithe, and don't care how the church use it. You did yourself a favour by paying
God is not a money doubler and neither is he an ATM machine. Use your money to help a brother in need. That is how to love God (1john 3 v17).

Why is Vetiva always silent on FIDELITY, but scream about Diamond And FCMBhuh
I think they are not in Fidelity bus and of course are advancing their business interest but dressed up to appear like recommendations.

I have a hunch you are not in the Fidelity train going by the sound-bite of your post. I would not know other better reasons ( maybe price volatility by your reasoning) that will be considered in opting for a particular stock other than good dividend payment history and a growing EPS. Those two variables are clearly on the side of Fidelity bank. It does appear that you mis- timed the market and missed the opportunity to a position.
Im sorry am this direct.

I normally don't like posting in bullish periods because of the popular knowledge that everyone becomes an expert in such periods.

But I feel obliged to give some thoughts to newbies as they pay their NSE fees.

What is suddenly moving the market? Why are prices going up generally? The answer is simple. No more 18%+ interest in Treasury Bill. No more 16%+ interest in Bonds. All the monies that left the market as a result of the sudden increase of interest rates at the peak of our recession is returning back to the stock market. This is good for the market but has a very big disadvantage to inexperienced traders. Why? Because all the stocks will appreciate in price cool Will they remain so? No huh Why? Because investors will soon discern the good stocks from the bad and hence offload the bad to unfortunate hands who will then hold them through the bearish period or sell at a loss lipsrsealed

In all this, it is important to know everything about the company you are buying their shares, what is in it for you, what is moving their price and most importantly, your exit plan when poo hits the fan. I give you an example, what's special about Fidelity Bank? Is their numbers the best in the banking index? No cheesy then why is everyone looking their way right now? huh Simply because they declare good dividend historically. Now, you follow the band wagon, buy Fidelity because of this fact, not planning your trade. After the dividend play and ex-dividend date, the players will exit and this will pull back the price. Why? It will no longer be fruitful to hold Fidelity until the next dividend period chikena.

Another of such company is Afriprud. These are even companies with good financials o. So what happens to you if you had gone ahead to buy caverton because the price is rising with the general bull? Or CI Leasing? Or even Skyehuh

Anyway, I'm in my house. If my opinion annoyed you, come and beat me grin

The bear grip maybe running out of muscle. I foresee a phased bull attack starting at the banking arena and this may be as early as this Friday.

I believe there is political interference in this naira defence project because someone said he will par the 'rubble' with the USD post May 29. For the market, we might be witnessing a hostile bear consolidation.
