Kingdemu:
It is now very clear that the Nigerian Army acted within the ambience of the law.

Section 33 sub 2 of Nigerian constitution has justified their act:

The section states;
(2) A person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life in contravention of this section, if he dies as a result of the use, to such extent and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably necessary –

(a) for the defence of any person from unlawful violence or for the defence of property:

(b) in order to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent the escape of a person lawfully detained; or

(c) for the purpose of suppressing a riot, insurrection or mutiny
I am very sorry for the question I am about to ask and I must say that I do not intend insult or sarcasm in any way. Please do forgive me if it sounds otherwise but...
Did you really go to school?

Yet God is silent and the child stays missing.

Is God dead or just an imaginary being?
I love your reasoning but I hope it is backed up with objectivity and curiosity? I used to be one of those who just believed what I was told about God until I raised such question and objectively set out to find out the truth. Now I just don't believe a God I have been taught about since childhood but a God I have experienced beyond the shadow of a doubt!

This is the Nollywood version of "THE THREE IDIOTS"
One can hardly blame the woman for visiting a facebook friend; it could be for any reason. It may even be out of benevolence. But whatever the case, this resounds a lesson of caution in our use of social media.

The much you see when such topic comes up is a formidable army vehemently defending their cleric.
When the Apostles asked Jesus about the sign of His coming, the very first thing He warned them against was deception (Mat 24:3-4) because false prophets will appear and sound so convincing and deceive the "very elect" if possible.
These false teachers/prophets are not people with protruding horns that crash into the church and teach you to curse Jesus (as I used to think) but people that have been part of the church and teaches the Bible while secretly Introducing heresies (2Pet 2:1-3). So identifying them is not as easy as we may think.
Even in Paul's days, some people foolishly (or innocently) followed false teachings against what they have heard from Paul (Gal 1:6).
This is a generation that seeks miraculous signs more than ever (Matt 16:4) and therefore more prone to deception.
Christians are therefore to watch out, don't become a "fan" of a cleric so much that you cannot objectively review and constructively criticize what he/she says (Acts 17:11). Don't see people condemning their wrong actions as accursed (Gal 1:8-9) or people keeping away from them as damned (Rom 16:17-18). Don't see a cleric having many followers as a sign of "God's approval"
Jesus already said "they WILL deceive MANY" (Matt 24:5). I pray you will be among the few undeceiveables.

Sniper101:

The popular Bible story...
"the widow's might"

That money she gave
Along with the ones other people gave

Did Christ transfer their donations to the heavenly account of God?
Uncle Sniper, the widows mite was given in the temple not to Jesus. He was only an observer and used her as an example.

Its interesting when church members give testimonies and attribute it to prophecies by a pastor, annointing oil intake, handkerchief use, laying of hands etc while deliberately leaving out medical interventions, human connections, technological assistance etc that contributed in the "miracle".
If you watched the report on TVC news about the old couple who had twins last month and compared it to their online testimony in this same church, you'll clearly understand what i mean.

Great news. He should continue with the online broadcast then
Or better still turn his church to an isolation center. Men, that place will record 100% recovery in record time! smiley

Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo: It's Wrong To Allow People In Market And Not In Church by Stratosfear: 2:28am On May 08, 2020

I had always thought you were wise, never knew you are this STUP1D!

To call a servant of God foolish is the height of stupidity.

By the way, if we are to debate logically, it makes no sense to ask market/businesses to open but the Church should be closed down!

Is Corona virus more effective in the church than in the market?

Is the church more disorganised than the market?

If they can allow people to go to work, to enter public bus, if they can allow people to go to market and offices but cannot allow church services to hold then their brains are malfunctioning.

Church is one of the most organised setting. Aside the praise and worship/offering sessions there is no moving around. The church can afford to do social distancing, provide nose mask for all her members.

What am I even typing? Whoever supports that market can open while the church should be closed lacks but logic and common sense

Correct!
Meaning the trio of you, the Bishop and the Tanzanian president are the sole custodians of common Sense around the globe.
